Lute forced back a chuckle at how excited Calco seemed about the possibilities.
"What type of movies do you like? Actually, what type of movies does Hell have anyway?"
She feared Hell's definition of entertainment might be offensive to her senses.
* boy did Calco have some ideas. There was a ton of options, but she couldn't get too ahead of herself *
" Welllll I work on art comissions, sing, listen to music, watch movies, an' so on! It depends on what 'm in the mood for l suppose. "

Lute looked away as well, straightening her back with tensed shoulders. She kept reminding herself she didn't know if she could trust Calco fully yet. She'd have to see how things turned out. There was too much room for doubt to let her guard down.
"I'm not sure. Admittedly, I used to spend most of my time training. What do you usually do in your free time?"
* it was safe to say that Calco seemed quite shocked at Lute's confession, yet it answered some of her wondering and explained her hostile and slight militaristic behaviors. Honestly? She should be mad. Really pissed even. But she wasn't. The other fallen wasn't the only one who had taken a bunch of lives, except for her, it was the opposite. The winged cat gave the other woman a gentle smile, eyes softening *
" Thanks for tellin' me the truth, Lute. If l were any normal sinner, I'd have killed ya, but I ain't that kinda person. "

Lute's cheeks flushed, her eyebrows raising as she stared at the other woman. She could hear her heart pounding in her chest, though she didn't know why. Something about the way the other woman was looking at her just made her feel so...vulnerable, and yet, happy for it. And that was terrifying.
"I'm glad too."
She managed a small smile, taking a deep breath to try to quell her heart.

Lute remained tense, keeping a close eye on Calco's facial expression. She had no doubts about Calco's emotional strength, she could very well be pretending to take it well just to spare Lute's feelings. Or even in preparation to do something about it later.
"Well, thank you regardless. I hope it doesn't make you uneasy. I'm not here to hurt anyone, just to survive. I promise. As I said, the exorcists wouldn't consider me one of their own anymore anyway."

"The reason that sinner recognized me from the battle was because I was there, as Adam's lieutenant. I used to be an exorcist."
Lute anxiously looked up at Calco for her reaction, though she suspected this was it. She was going to lose her last hope in Hell.

"Then, thank you for protecting me. But, about what that sinner said, there is something I need to tell you. Just...not here. Later."
Lute glanced away, staring at her knees. Too many people recognized her, meaning Calco would learn one way or another, and she'd rather she tell Calco herself than have Calco hearing it from someone else.

Lute sat down on the couch, forcing her back to remain straight as her hand fidgeted with her nerves.
"Listen, we should talk about what that sinner said, back at the hospital."

"Oh, thank you." She gave a short nod, taking a curious sip of the wine then starting to eat the lasagna. It was delicious, making her hum happily.
"oh shit lute?"

"I'd say so."
Lute walked with her arm behind her back, not looking forward to going back and telling Calco everything, but she knew she didn't have much of a choice. Calco would figure out one way or the other anyway.

"Thank you." Lute sits down, nervously fiddling with her skirt. "Something light probably, like pea soup. Maybe a sandwich."

Lute found herself calming when the doctor seemed legit, willingly going through the routine in hopes it would actually help. She offered her stump to the doctor.
"That's fine."

Lute relaxed a little, though she kept her eyes glued to the door. The second that doctor walked through the door, she'd sus him out just to be sure. It seemed Calco had built a life here, so it was reasonable to think she got along with the locals better than Lute would. Perhaps Lute should let Calco do most of the talking.
"If you say so. And Sloth Ring?"

Lute went into the room, sitting on the examination table and fidgeting. She was impressed with the hospital so far but, Hell was still Hell.
"Are the doctors here really...trustworthy?"

( starting a continuation thread here because Tumblr is tweaking for me 🥹😅 )
" I wuz at de big battle!! Don't try ta play stewpid! "
* the injured cannibal growled, scewering Lute with a hate-filled glare before gnashing his teeth together. Calco let out a warning growl from her own throat, her ear beginning to lower along with her tail lashing and wings giving a small flap *
" but ye know wha'? I think I want a taste of sum angel flesh today!! "
* He lunged, mouth open and uninjured arm outstretched to tear the fallen to bits. What the cannibal and Lute didn't know was that he made a grave mistake *
* in the blink of an eye, the cannibal had been torn apart, barely anything left except crimson blood splatters and chunks of flesh strewn across the room. Calco's clothes and fur were stained, her small horns having lengthened and curled back, eyes turned red and orange with an extra pair below the main pair. Smoke also curled to the ceiling, which was coming from her mouth. She could be truly dangerous if triggered just right *
"I don't know what you're talking about, but the only one playing stupid here is you."
Lute peered at the other woman, preparing herself as well with his fist clenched. She was about to help Calco with the fight, but it came to a close too fast for her to step in. She stared in amazement, stumbling back into her seat.
"How did you do that?"

Lute peered over, curious what Calco was writing down. She hoped she didn't give the other woman too much information. She tensed at the approach of the unknown sinner, raising an eyebrow.
"Do I know you?"
She stood with Calco, not wanting her to get into a fight on Lute's behalf, but also not used to fighting with only one arm. She wasn't certain how effective she could be.
* Externally, she nodded and grinned, giving her two thumbs up in approval. Internally, she was having straight up, full blown lesbian panic at how fucking gorgeous Lute looked in the dress. The only things that gave away her current thoughts were the subtle flutter of her wings and her swishing tail *
" Damn, lookin' great dude! Once we get yer missin' arm issue squared away, ya can wear the other glove! "

Lute followed Calco, sitting beside her and keeping a sharp eye on those around them. If even one of them recognized her, a fight might break out.
The sights didn't bother her that much. She saw and did worse during extermination day. Still, she kept close to Calco, shrinking in her seat to try and stay away from the filthy sinners.
"Thank you for doing this."
She said to Calco in a low voice.
