Her face is still, though her eyes follow his hand and she breaks into a frown as he takes the bear away and out of her grasp. Hedwig's heels (and hair) give her a little height on the other and she takes a step forward.

             ''Tell me, Buddy. Have you ever been               smacked by an angry German mess               of a lady. It's an experience.''

       He grabs the biggest looking bear out        of the bag, fingers clenched tightly ar-        ound the head. His moves it towards        Hedwig’s open hand, taking his time to        place it in her hand. At the last moment,        he pops it into his mouth instead, grinning        like a bratty child.

                     ”Watch me.”

         ”Pshh…why should I just give you a         gummy bear? I didn’t take them to         share them.”

''Because no one person can eat an entire store's worth of gummy bears?    Well, I could. But that's a story for another time.''

''You're an odd little man.                      Now give me a gummy bear.''

       ”I just stole all the gummy bears         from that liquor store.

                                    EVIL PROGRESS!”

     “Ahh…” He sighed theatrically happily, hand over heart. “I just love a happy ending. Though, I suppose what I consider happy may differ from the norm.” Smile still left over from his theatrics, but slipping into something a little more genuine, he held out his hand. “I’m Frankie. And who might you be, dove?”
