Note
based on the three type of quirks there are, what type of quirk would you say OFA is?
The generally accepted type for OFA is emitter. Personally I think the quirk maybe a dual type being slightly mutation at the same time. This would allow the future users who can access the repressed quirks not to blow their body to pieces if it were mutated to be able to handle all of them better.
If you would like a more detailed answer I plan on releasing a full quirk analysis of OFA in about 1 month.

Quirk History
Tumblr media
As a Quirk Scientist one of the first things you learn is the history of quirks, so, here is where you will find the complete known history of quirks as covered by the top universities in the world.
The first known manifestation of Quirks is recorded to be a baby in Qing  Qing City, China. The new born has been documented as having the ability to radiate light from its body.  It was after this event that masses of people all around the world seemed to gain these new abilities. With this new phenomenon spreading across the globe people fought to find a cure or a cause, both were unsuccessful. Eventually these abilities became known as meta abilities.
Whist the cause of this mass phenomenon is unknown there have been many theories as to where it originated from. One of the most popular theories however, is that the cause of the phenomenon was due to the spread of an unknown virus by mice, there is no concrete evidence for this however.
As with any major evolutionary stage, the world was unable to handle it. With this influx of extraordinary people also came criminals now super charged to not be stopped from committing their crimes. Crimes overall, now empowered by the super beings, were increasing. A particular sub-strain of crime was hate towards those left with no abilities.
Before there were any of the heroes that we see today, it was the common people that protected the streets they lived in. These crime-fighters became known as the first heroes. However, in our history books they are described as being vigilantes.
At some point during these eras, a woman gave birth to a son named Chikara Yotsubashi, this was the young boy who faced a host of discrimination for his meta abilities. His mother loved and supported him greatly, claiming that his meta ability was just a “Quirk” of his. Whilst this term would eventually lead to her murder, his mother would one day be known as the “Mother of all Quirks”.
It is with this base knowledge that quirk scientists are able to try and understand the origins of how our new society was founded, and try and develop a more concrete theory as to how these abilities developed.

Types of Quirks
Tumblr media
Before you can begin to learn the science underneath different quirks you have to understand the types of quirks and the basic science from which they derive.
There are 3 known types of quirks: emitter, transformation and mutant.
Tumblr media
Emitter type quirks - also known as operatives - have been found to be quirks that can generate, control or alter a certain type of item or element. For example, Bakugou’s explosions or Dabi’s fire. Emitter style quirks have a large variety of possibilities and ways they can be applied.
Emitter quirks are the largest type group of the known three, with between 50% and 75% of people having emitter type quirks. However, even though most people have an emitter-based quirk, they have some major draw backs.
These types of quirks take a lot of concentration for the wielder, often causing a strain as they have to maintain the active state. Often the concentration it takes to maintain their quirks activation can lead to physical and mental deterioration. It has been recommended that they don’t use it for prolonged periods of time in a short time frame.
The quirks themselves often have different ranges, which can vary between the different users. The range itself is often dependent on the type of emitter quirk the wielder possess. For example, eraser is only able to maintain the range of the wielder a line of sight as the quirk itself heavily relies on eyesight. Overall, some users have a range uninhibited by limitations whilst others depend on a physical or mental requirement to achieve their full range. However, no quirk is limitless.
It is normally fairly easy for the wielders of emitter-types to gain control of their quirk, but accidents and problems can still occur. In cases where the quirk user can generate a substance, they often can generate it too quickly or too much, and they can tap into what is known as their ‘reserves’ and can gradually harm themselves because of this. They have to be careful with their quirks, of not they could end up harming themselves.
Like with most quirks, whilst some types of emitter quirks share similar properties, every quirk has stipulations which are independent to the user. These stipulations are special properties that are unique to the user, like the ectoplasm produced by Ectoplasms’ clones. These unique properties are able to affect not only the body of the user, but also their personality and personal habits.
Some users’ quirks force their body into temporary alteration. Now, these quirks would typically fall under the transformation category but, these quirks don’t need an outside resource to activate the conditions.
Emitter is the most common type of quirk.
Tumblr media
Transformation type quirks - also known as Composite types - have been found to be quirks that can cause the user to take on a temporary alteration of some kind. They are known as transformations because the quirks allow the user to temporarily ‘transform’ themself into something else. This sometimes consists of features being exchanged for new ones or an added addition to their physical appearance.
These quirks require the user to give a conscious effort when trying to ‘activate’ their quirk. It is, however, very common for people with these kinds of quirks to train themselves to activate it from within their reflexes, dependent on activation conditions of course, and be able to master it to a very accurate precision.
To be used in combat, transformation quirks often have to be used up close to utilise their full effects. Whilst these quirks are often quite powerful, they have a large downside where they only last for a short while, and the repercussions of the side-effects are often on the user’s behalf. Overall, quirks are dependent on the user, so if they are quite weak, their quirk output will be to. Some people have been known to condition their bodies so they can operate things more efficiently.
Transformation quirks are known to effect only the user, so it is generally safe for the people surrounding them. There have been exceptions to this role, such as Seiji’s Meatball and Toga’s transform.
Transformation is the least common type of quirk.
Tumblr media
Mutant type quirks - also known as Heteromorphic types - are quirks that cause the user to have a permanent ‘abnormality’ directly related to their ability. Mutant quirks provide important abilities that the other types cannot afford to for their own safety. These quirks often end in extra appendages that the user can control as well as the ‘normal’ limbs that most people are born with. Mutant types often have the ability to channel natural strengths through their added appendages.
Typically, these physical attributes granted upon the early generations of the quirked can be passed down through genetical lines. Often these physical attributes do not correspond with the quirks that the newer generations possess, but that does not mean that they can’t be handy for them. However, this stops us from attaining how common these mutant types are. Although we assume that they are mostly inherited.
Even if it is not a weakness, mutant type quirks are permanent and are their 24 hours which can often inconvenience the users with their everyday lives as their needs are not met.
These quirks are known as ‘passively active’ which means for quirks like Aizawa’s Erasure they can’t be stopped. They are always active, and it is incredibly hard to tell sometimes whether they are mutants or not.
Users with a mutant type quirk are often known as heteromorphs. However, they are the most discriminated groups, even by people who also have quirks. Whole cults have formed with the purpose of trying to eradicate these heteromorphs.
