Back around 2019, I was trying to practice drawing humans. I hit a block on this one... couldn't seem to progress any further without it looking bad.
So instead of buckling down and gitting gud, I just drew a little fox critter bein' all like "What's this mess?" And then animated it for some reason.
First four frames were drawn around that time, and I did the rest this week.

Quick proof-of-concept Eevee to see if I could run a portable build of my preferred ancient Photoshop version through WINE on Linux and have my tablet work with it.
Verdict: Mostly works, but every few minutes the tablet's sensitivity just dies for a little while and then comes back. The green grass lines are all perfectly straight because the tablet was experiencing silliness at that time… but it fit the crosshatch theme so I stuck with it.

WIP. A few weeks ago I was lying in bed, half asleep, when the following phrase suddenly popped into my head: "Romantic moment interrupted by mozzarella sticks."
Featuring OC Mali and some random date guy.

Psst, draw more Bunearys and Lopunny's please.
Your very good at both, imo the best at drawing buneary.
I appreciate the kind words, but admittedly I stuck pretty close to @caffeinerabbit's designs for those buneary. You should check out that account for your buneary needs.
If I were to draw one organically, it would probably end up looking a lot more... pichu-y, you know?
As for lopunny, I've got a small something in my WIP folder.

Rough sketches of that last upload, from before the vectorization process. Yes, there are legs under that fluff!

Fanart of Latte and Benji, who belong to @caffeinerabbit.
Latte, on the left, is usually depicted as a Lopunny. She's an experienced dungeon explorer and reluctant mentor to Benji, who's on the right. Benji is a former human whose sole combat experience comes from some tae-kwon-do lessons he took in middle school.
After @caffeinerabbit posted a drawing of Latte as a Buneary, I thought it would be fun to draw the two of them facing off on a level playing field. (This does not increase Benji's odds of winning in the slightest.)

Update: Looks like I was wrong about the Alpha Pokemon.
Theory on how Z-A will add to the lore? These legends games are very lore heavy. What would you like to see in the next one?
Well, I'm hoping it'll go into more detail on that big war that's such a major part of X&Y's story.
Unfortunately, at this point I'm not too certain that Game Freak have the time or willpower to do it justice. I'd hate to see the entire war play out in offscreen dialogue and fades to black.
I'm just gonna hedge my bets and hope they bring Alpha Pokemon back.

I went on a hard drive scavenger hunt to see how many different species of pokemon I've drawn. That includes WIPs, sloppy old doodles, and tiny background appearances.
(I'd be happy to share the template, it took me forever to type all those numbers...)

Hey, wanna wander around an empty map for a minute or two? Now you can!
This was a Flash project that I was working on back in the day. Now, after a bit of tweaking, it's playable in modern browsers thanks to Ruffle. I had high hopes for it... while I didn't get far on the gameplay side, I was building all sorts of back-end integrations to save data and link to forum accounts and such. Then Steve Jobs showed up and killed Flash with his goofy iPhone, so I abandoned it.
There's also a little arcade machine on the map where you can play some of my other old experiments. They're mostly buggy little things I did for school, but still kinda fun.

Why Pichu as your mascot?
It all started with Super Smash Bros. Melee, actually. I never cared much for Pichu before then, but I enjoyed using it in that game. Pichu was an unpopular character in Melee because of its weaknesses, and as a result, I was the only one I knew who ever used it. That sorta made Pichu feel like a character that was there just for me.
Later, when I decided to start drawing Pokemon, Pichu was a natural early choice. Here's a Smash Bros. Pichu from waaay back:

From the vault: Awhile back, I was a member of a forum full of real artsy-types. Some of them weren't fond of me using pokemon as avatars instead of original creations.
For a short time, they managed to peer-pressure me into being a regular bunny rabbit instead, but it didn't stick.

One of my favorite things about the Game Freak leaks from a few months ago was learning that beta Zoroark actually had a proper tail.
You don't just take someone's tail away, man, that's very rude.

Doodle that will eventually be part of a character sheet for Taffy (aka Bakery Otter).
The "right way" note is so I don't forget which side the flower goes on.

Just for fun, here's the rough draft.
Starting a drawing is the hardest part. Once you get something down, even if it's a near-unusable mess of lines, it's still a big psychological step of the process completed.
The premise for this drawing was "You're making a back-to-basics Mario Kart game. Eight playable characters. Who's your cast?"
Now, I've received some viewer pushback for choosing Birdo over Toad, so I'll try my best to explain my reasoning:
I like dinosaurs.
