1D Christmas Fest 2023 Sign-Up and Prompts

Welcome back! This is now the 5th(!!!) year of the 1D Christmas Fest, and I'm delighted it's back for another year. As before, I hope to have a fic a day from December 1st all the way up to the big day itself, so fingers crossed lots of you will want to sign up and join in.

Sign Ups: Sign ups were opened at October 28th at 12pm BST. There are only a couple of rules to follow:

You must be over 18 at the time of sign up

Your fic must include at least one member of One Direction in your main pairing

Your fic must have a festive theme!

Fics are due on December but we can offer some flexibility in that once the schedule starts to fill up. Publication dates will be assigned in order of fics received into the collection.

You must be over 18 at the time of sign up. You will need to confirm this. It is to protect everyone involved in the fest.

Finally, any pairing is allowed as long as at least one member of One Direction is part of the main pairing.

Chew Me Up And Spit Me Out

Word Count: 5,009

Rating: Mature

Pairing: Harry Styles/Louis Tomlinson

Summary:

Harry is tired of finding watermelon seeds on his balcony every morning. So he does what any polite, young man would do: he finds out who the perpetrator is, and ask them politely to stop. The problem is, said perpetrator is local punk Louis, who likes telling pretty boys his spitting habits and gets himself into situations he really doesn't need to be in.

“Oh? And pray tell, what kind of guy do I look like?”  

Louis leans against the stack of amps, resting his chin in his hand.  

“I dunno. A tattoo artist maybe.” 

And, fuck. Okay, maybe Louis is a cliche. 

“Can’t draw a straight line to save my life.” 

“So nothing about you is straight then?”

Jaw dropping and corners of his mouth twitching, Louis’ back straightens. 

“Your lines, your sexuality, your…” A snicker leaves Harry’s lips. “Skateboard ramp.”

“This is our selection of cocktails this week. But,” Louis interrupts himself, catching the man’s attention after his eyes had already been flitting over the chalk letters on the board. “if you’re asking for my opinion here - I’d take a sex on the beach.”

Wiggling his eyebrows, the man laughs and steps closer to the counter. “Consider me intrigued.”

“Yeah?”

“Yes. Sex on the beach sounds good.”

or, the one where Louis is set on enjoying his last summer jobbing abroad as tourist entertainer and it only gets better when a mysterious hotel guest with overly expensive sunglasses keeps coming back for his drink recommendations.

At first, Louis' eyes widened, and he looked around the dock if anyone else could see what he had just seen. But no one was around. And then realisation hit him. It was probably a silly prank.

Like werewolves, fairies and vampires didn't exist, not to mention the Easter bunny and Santa himself, mermaids didn't exist either. Or, in this case, merboys? Mermen? Merpeople? Merfolks? Louis had no idea what was the right term, but then again, it didn't really matter because these creatures were not real

A story about a boy who just wants to paint the beauty of the ocean without interruptions or silly pranks. Because no. Mermaids do not exist.
