荒ぶるヤマタノオロチは酒に酔わされた後、スサノオの剣によって屠られます。赤い血と白い酒の交換は、洪水など災いの鎮静を示すとともに、秋から冬への移り変わりや、荒御魂から和御魂への、死と再生を表しているとも解釈できます。
The raging Yamata-no-orochi is slaughtered by Susanoo's sword after being intoxicated by sake. The exchange of red blood for white sake can be interpreted as a sign of the transition from autumn to winter, the calming of a flood or other calamity, and death and rebirth, from the raging spirit to the peaceful spirit.

金太郎の武器であるマサカリは、雷神や山の神の力を示し、大蛇は疫病や災害を象徴しています。秋のシンボルである紅葉は、オロチの赤い血や、火を表しています。災いをもたらす荒御魂を屠（ハフ）り、 恵みをもたらす和御魂への復活を祝（ハフ）る 図案です。
Masakari, Kintaro's weapon, represents the power of the god of thunder and the mountain god, while Orochi the serpent symbolizes plague and disaster. Autumn leaves, the symbol of autumn, represent the red blood of Orochi and fire. The design celebrates the slaughtering of the spirit of the god of evil and the resurrection of the spirit of peace, which brings blessings.

金太郎
金太郎は山姥と赤龍(雷神)との間に生まれ、 火や雷を象徴する赤い体をもつ男児です。 こちらもスサノオの絵と同様に、 大地に災いをもたらす大蛇を鎮める という構図になっています。 悪疫退散や身体健康の願いが込められております。
Kintaro was born of Yamamba and the red dragon (god of thunder), a boy with a red body symbolizing fire and thunder. Like the picture of Susanoo's extermination of Yamata-no-orochi, Kintarō quells the serpent that brings misfortune to the earth. It is a wish for the eradication of evil and for physical health.

鬼若丸
鬼若丸は武蔵坊弁慶の幼少期の名前です。
巨大な鯉を退治するこちらの絵もヤマタノオロチを退治するスサノオと同様、悪疫退散や天下泰平の願いが込められております。
Oniwakamaru Oniwakamaru is the name of Musashibo Benkei's childhood. Like Susanoo, who slays the Yamata-no-orochi, this painting depicts Oniwakamaru slaying a giant carp and expresses the wish for the eradication of evil plagues and peace under heaven.

スサノオ
海や雨など、水の運行を司るスサノオが、簸川(ヒノカワ)の洪水の象徴とされる ヤマタノオロチを退治する場面です。
スサノオが自らの荒御魂を鎮圧する様とも、天地や火水など、陰陽のエネルギーの交換を表しているとも解釈できます。
Susanoo In this scene, Susanoo, who governs the movement of water such as the sea and rain, defeats the Yamata-no-orochi, symbolizing the flood of the Hinokawa River. The scene can also be interpreted as a representation of Susanoo's subduing of his own fierce spirit, or the exchange of yin and yang energies, such as heaven and earth, fire and water.
