Today Randy Alcorn was @harvest Riverside, and it reminded me that I had not yet finished his book that I purchased from @greglaurie's book store on campus. This book has had a profound effect on me in a short period of time, it has changed my views on God's money, it's God's stuff not mine, I'm just for some reason taking care of it, and He gives an abundance of it to us in order that we might give it to others or use it to make more, so that we can give more. Ultimately, the most important and motivating factor is, that we cannot take our money with us, but that we can send our rewards or money forward. What I mean is, that according to Alcorn, we can use our earthly money to achieve treasure in heaven, lasting eternal treasure, that must be earned by doing God's will and serving his sheep. Like providing food and blankets, or water, clothing or other necessities for those in need. Tithing, helping ministries, and various other biblical uses of money, not only please God and are the Christian thing to do, but also guarantee us rewards, and invite us and motivate us by telling us that we will have rewards in heaven for the proper use of our money on earth, if we use it for God and his people, we will be rewarded isn't he life to come, eternity. That's a pretty sweet motivation, and one we should realize is Godly and biblical, because satan wants us to think it's not, but God wants to reward us for it.

Matthew 10:8,9
“Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. Freely you received, freely give. Do not acquire gold, or silver, or copper for your money belts,” Matthew 10:8-9 NASB http://bible.com/100/mat.10.8-9.nasb God keeps bringing me to this verse and I didn't know why or realize why at first, but It is essentially a call, a direction for my life, God is telling me to go out and heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out demons. When we think about this, we rarely think it's a calling or even possible, but this is how He commissioned the 12, He told them to go and preach the gospel of the kingdom and to tell them that the kingdom of heaven is at hand, near, or in their midst. He also told them not to acquire money, something I want and struggle with and want to acquire, because I've always had it, and a lot do it, but I'm not called to that, I'm called to apparently preach and give what I have been freely given, rather than what would cost me or that I want at cost. So may the lord do one of these many things in your life as you read this, because He wants to, and may you believe on the lord Jesus Christ, make of heaven and earth, liberator of the captives and savior of the world.

Proverbs 24:17-20 reminds me not to cheer or root for the demise of evil villains, I suppose not even in tv shows these days. Generally, we want justice, for instance if I was watching tv, like the walking dead or something that tends to have a main villain for each season, and they perished in the season finale, and like most if i rooted for this, I would be in the wrong, even if what I believed I wanted was justice. We ought not to enjoy the demise of our enemies or the wicked, because God does not take pleasure in it, and even though they do deserve justice, vengeance belongs to the lord, and we ought to pray for those who persecute us and love our enemies, moreover, if we give a cold cup of water or food to our enemies, it's as if the lord is pouring hot ashes upon them and He is. The thing to remember, is whatever false justice or vengeance we take upon the wicked or our enemies, will not measure up to that which God has in store for them, and it will in no way measure up to the grace and mercy He pours out on them, in fact, our anger will not produce righteousness, and we ought not to sin in our anger, which, is what it will mostly likely produce. Let us not envy the wicked or try and take justice on them, For in due time, if we continue to do good, we will reap a harvest, and so will they. (Ezekiel 18: 23,32 Romans 12:19-20, Matthew 5:44, Ephesians 4:26, James 1:20, Ephesians 6:9, Galatians 6:7)

We need no more nominal Christians, lukewarm Christians, whom my master spues out His mouth: we need men on fire with love, all over consecrated, intensely devoted, who, by the slavery from which they have entered, are under bond to spend and be spent for the name of Jesus, till they have filled the earth with his glory, and made all heaven ring with His praise. The lord bless you, beloved, for Jesus' sake. Amen. My the words of Spurgeon drive us on, and may we not be those nominal or Luke warm Christians, but Christians who give everything to Christ and more, Christians who live their entire lives for Christ, not themselves, and may the Holy Spirit awake a fire within us unquenchable by sin or mistake, and may we not crucify each other, but humble, rebuke, and encourage each other into God's glorious kingdom, amen.

We are free from sin, free from the condemnation of it, the hellfire, the undying worm, and the wrath to come, thank God for it, for He is good. The Holy Spirit will sit in the throne until we are perfected, amen.

A glorious hymn to remember from a book I'm reading called the kingdom of the cults, by Walter Martin. Read it if you can, it's an amazing apologetics resource, filled with input on just about every cult. Jesus died to bring eternal life and lives that death may die, quite an amazing song lyric.

Tonight, something strange happened, a divine appointment if you will. After my coworker asked me about the Wiccan religion and witchcraft, and I called something the devil, he preceded to tell me about when his very religious grandmother would not buy him an album with the word demon in it. After this he essentially asked me to give him my testimony, praise God, which seemed to impact him immensely when I touched on forgiving my mom who I felt left me as a kid. God convicted him and I could tell he lacked and desired the joy and peace of Christ in his life, he was the sheep God was going after, and I pray that God will save him this day. It is also funny, that moments before God had me turn here, I read a verse in Isaiah posted by Greg Laurie, about how Jesus was a "man of sorrows and acquainted with grief" (Isaiah 53:3) that same verse was in this very chapter of a huge commentary that God led me to, which, ironically I purchased from Harvest Riverside last Sunday because the Lord wanted me to. This was also after Pastor Greg did a call to ask people to be world changers, and God had my wife and I stand. Perhaps this is a result of that stand, and perhaps God just wants me to know He's speaking to me and using me, and sending me after His lost Sheep, may He save them all.

In Randy Alcorn's, "Managing God's Money: a Biblical Guide," he asked a very poignant quesiton, "Should reward be our only motivation?"
