Grian gets flack sometimes for how quick he moves on, but it's less about being disloyal and more about his inability to be alone.

When Grian is on a team, he is inconsolably devoted. Grian will spend episodes doing practically nothing but trying to keep his teammates as healthy as he possibly can, and he will practically never walk out on someone, no matter what, even if he thinks he should, even if it might be better for him to.

But he's no stranger to loss, and Grian knows that when your team is gone, you can't skip a beat. Part of it is about his own survival, naturally. Solo players don't often get too far. He's already losing time every second he's by himself, and self preservation is a strong driver.

But beyond that, Grian personally cannot bear to be alone with himself. We see it every time he's a solo player (whether because his team dies or because he just hasn't found one yet), Grian doesn't feel like he's anything when everyone else is removed from the equation. Grian needs somebody to help, somebody to take care of, how is he supposed to exist in silent beats and empty air? Does he even exist? What is he without them, any of them?

Gang let's leave the Canary Curse behind. It broke in Secret Life. Vestigial traits can carry over, sure, but it's over. Mumbo has only died immediately after Jim twice, and now this one time hes died first- he's not the new canary, and neither is Lizzie, who just had really bad luck and is doing amazing this season. It sucks that has only been happening to them, while Grian died first in Real Life and, by that logic, would also be a canary.

That being said it would be so funny if Mumbo woke up back on Hermitcraft and had to comb some feathers out of his mustache. But let's leave it at that ey? Just a little refrence, a little "ough, you had it rough" symbolism when they wake up in another server- whisked away by the resuscitation device.

I have no idea how Jimmy feels about all the canary symbolism now, but as of Sos SMP he had basically accepted it (a quote where he named his elytra "Canary wings" and said "they're a part of me now, it's not lore", it's worth pointing out this is solidly after Secret Life). Hence I will keep using it as inspiration for his character and for some refrences. However we should take an actual look at canary symbolism.

Well, doesn't that seem like our vagyely unlucky guy. He's always hopeful, very optimistic, worried about his friends safety (even if he isn't allied with them), and can be relatively vulnerable. Most of all, after so many times of dying first (and being targeted in other series), he's kept his head up high, and kept his eyes on the prize, always swearing that this will be his season. He's the most resilient person I can think of. This is how we can still characterize him as a canary.

Remember, the Curse isn't just about laughs and poking fun at an unlucky player, the Curse has been broken, and you shouldn't force the Curse on other players. That's all thank uuuuu <3

I really want to write/draw something that’s been in my head for the past months

So CuteGuy and HotGuy but HotGuy got demoted to Poe Poe

Grian is still CuteGuy because he’s wasn’t involved with the government as his vigilante persona, and still isn’t other than his cover job

Both Scar and Grian know who the other is and Grian has to deal with Scar ranting to him during working hours about his demotion

So basically Grian gets fed up and takes him to Mumbo so he can work as a hero again just as a vigilante now with him

For the silly mumbo is freaking out every time he sees HotGuy and loves to work with him, aka he’s very grateful to Grian. Also he knows HotGuy is Scar so sometimes he freaks out around just normal non HotGuy Scar as well
