Honestly right now it reminds me of like 15 years ago when almost any movie you wanted to go out and see was in fucking 3D. Like, not even filmed in 3D, just made 3D in post so it was extra shitty. Now almost nothing is 3D, except a few big-budget blockbusters. The movie industry finally caught on that nobody wanted that shit, nobody was gonna keep paying extra for it, and nobody actually liked it.

And this is what AI Everything™️ feels like to me right now.

i do honestly think the fact 'AI' tools are being shoved in our face at every corner is probably a sign its not going to last. like it reminds me of previous industry fads where companies hard invest in something that isn't making them as much profit as they hoped, so they try any tactic they can to make it profitable. i think the bubble is gonna burst at some point, and while the tech will never go away it'll probably move back into the realm of technological curiosity and nerd passion project. to me its just a matter of 'when' at this point tbh.

babe, most fanfic writers write because

they love the characters

they are not normal about the characters

they are passionate about the characters

they are depressed and writing about the characters is their getaway

they are horny

canon compliance is only a choice. but there’s no rule in fanfics. and most fanfic writers are sure as shit not trying to be respectful to the multi billion companies that made the characters, and if you actually believe they are, then maybe you’re just new to fandoms.

Thanks @please-do-not-perceive-me for reminding me I was working on this like a million years ago! I ended up having to completely redraw him because I started on it last year somewhere and I've, uh...improved some in that time. So yeah. Some fun and whimsy this WIP Wednesday.

And yes, we did actually play with paper dolls back in the dark ages (the 80's) when I was a child. We cut these fuckers out by hand with those shitty plastic safety scissors with the rounded ends and did an awful job of it and I was obsessed with them.

Helpful and Preventative Stretches for Writers, Artists, and Gamers 💪🎨✍🎮

If you type, write, draw, game, or generally use your hands a lot (especially if you’re prone to RSI or Carpal Tunnel!) try these stretches as both a preventative measure, and on the spot relief. Take care of yourself and your body, friends!

Start with hands up, fingers stretched out.  Stretch your thumb as far as you can over your palm. Hold and repeat 4 times.

Touch each finger to your thumb. Hold each for 30 seconds. Repeat on each hand 4 times.

Start with a fist. Open half way, hold for 2 seconds. Stretch fingers out, hold for 2 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

Start with one arm out, palm up. Pull your fingers back with your other hand. Hold for 10 seconds. Do the same with your other hand. Repeat 4 times

Start with arms up, palms out. Bend wrists down until you feel the stretch, but keep your fingers loose. Hold 10 seconds. Bend wrist upwards, until you feel it in your wrist and arm. Hold 10 seconds. Repeat 4 times.

I constantly struggle with reading on paper, and I actually use colored acetate overlays with physical books. I have one cut to size for my ereader screen as well. It's tremendously helpful!

In fact, if you find yourself kind of slipping around the page/struggling to keep your place when reading, or end up having to reread a section a few times before it 'sinks in', you might also benefit from those. They're pretty affordable, and come in a wide range of colors (people respond differently to different colors, so it's worth buying or borrowing a test pack to see what color works best for you).

u know that reminds me of this tweet going around making fun of dark mode users like 'haha do you guys need your books on dark paper' and it's like yeah some people can't read text printed on white paper? regular books aren't accessible to some people for that reason. whats the joke.
