This post is being made for anyone who somewhat fits the description below.
I am a child living in the US. I have been incredibly scared about this election, and I am so disappointed in my country for voting for Donald Trump. I am trans. I am queer. I am afab. I have been terrified that my rights will be taken away, and now I am watching it happen. The worst part is: no one seems to care
The day of Trump's inauguration, a major women's healthcare website was taken down. That is terrible, and I know it's just the beginning of his journey to take away people's rights.
I have tried to talk to my family and friends. No one seems to care. Everyone I have talked to has told me that I'm overreacting and that what om hearing and seeing isn't true. I showed my parents the clip of Elon Musk doing the salute. Just to be met with: "That's not what he ment by it." I have absolutely no one actively in my life who cares or is there to comfort me.
I'm making this post for anyone in a similar situation. you are not alone. you may feel like it, and I know that me telling you this isn't going to do much. I know because I understand what you're going through right now. I know that no amount of online support will ever make up for the absence of that support in person. I understand that you need someone to hug you and tell you, "We'll get thought this together." I understand.
It hurts me so much that I can't be there for you. I know that saying I understand isn't going to make this better. I know that it isn't going to help. but maybe understanding that saying " I understand" isn't going to help will make things a bit better
