Ending the First Term on High Notes
I am proud to complete my first semester as a full-time graduate student with a 4.0 GPA (highlighting the 4.0). During the last 15 weeks, I've grown professionally and professionally. This semester challenged me to push beyond what I thought was possible for my daily output. This semester has helped me develop the courage to speak up in the corporate environment. It has also exposed me to many different working styles.
The best part of this semester was that I incorporated many of my learnings into my workflow. During two of our sector-led meetings, which were becoming "death by update," I was able to challenge our Leads to use a portion of these meetings to construct a more creative environment. I proposed we use that time to brainstorm on individual or group projects, which has led to robust interactions with our colleagues. Since the start of the brainstorming session, we have been able to reconstruct the framework of our marketing campaigns as a team. It is also starting to develop a creative culture and nurturing within our sector. After one semester in graduate school, I can view my work and the work of others from a new perspective.
This semester it was a privilege to meet and work with such a talented group of individuals in my cohort, whom I can now call friends. In a short period, we took on a design sprint and conceptualized new uses for a space that will help empower young men in the Los Angeles community. We disrupted the market space with new and innovative products that will benefit society. We did all this while completing coursework, quizzes, reading two books, asynchronous materials, and attending weekly classes. We also had some fun meetups along the way. Did I mention we are all gainfully employed? ✌🏼
Upon accepting my admission to USC, I was nervous I would spend boat-loads without any ROI, but I can now say it has been one of my best decisions for my development.
One down five to go.

Last Day of IDNS 540
The last day was presentation day. Over eight weeks, we have all been using the Universal Traveler Creative Process method to develop a new and innovative concept. We had projects that ranged from AI to 3D design modeling. I am proud of what each team was able to accomplish in a short time. Fight on!✌🏼

Unit 14: Evaluation
There are plenty of ways to evaluate the creative process. This is why I was hesitant about creating a nonstandard rubric to judge my peers' efforts without their awareness of our group's criteria for evaluating their efforts. After completing the homework assignment, I realized that creating a rubric could help my team develop metrics for our project to make sure we hit our KPI standards and communicate those standards to others in our presentation. But for the record, I feel like most of our judgments are emotionally based. Either I will connect with an initiative on an emotional or a logical level, or I won't. Although having some judging criteria can be helpful for personal efforts in ensuring we hit the mark. Creating standardized measurements for ourselves could also help influence how others view our presentation.

Process Journal: Implementation Part II
Reflect on how you and your team spent the week iterating on your solution. What were some of the success, and failure points? Did you have to pivot your idea? How did you generate visual assets for your solution? How can you put these to use in your final presentation materials? Summarize those thoughts in a new post in your process journal. _______________________________________________________ My team is doing well in the implementation process. We had some concerns with the product form, but our vision of the baseline metrics has been consistent. We decided to push forward with mirror products and to revolutionize healthcare assistance. We now have a viable, desirable, and feasible product with serval iteration in the pipeline for the next 5-10 years with consistent revenue flows. This semester's implementation process was fast tracked, but if we use this project as our capstone, we would have enough time to take a deeper dive into developing and implementing solutions over our time at USC. Our team is working well together. We meet regularly to chat about research and possible implementation based on that research. It took us a little longer than the other teams to have a clear view of our overall product, but I am glad we took our time on the stage of identifying the problem and understanding our audience. I am excited to see where this project will go in the next few weeks. Sneak Peek

Process Journal: Implementation Communicating Ideas
Q: Reflect on the methods and techniques that your group plans to use to communicate how your project should be implemented and summarize those thoughts in a new post in your process journal.
A: My group is still noodling on how to present and communicate our concept.
Q: How do you most effectively pitch your idea to various stakeholders?
A: Typically, after brainstorming and finding multiple solutions to a problem, I like to pitch my ideas with a multi-level of possibilities. I don't think that every pitch/problem should have only one solution, so I like showcasing 'here is where we are at, here is where we can be, and this is our future.' Each pitch should have growth possibilities. Q: How do you visually communicate the objects, environments, systems, processes, and interactions involved in your project implementation?
A: Set and setting. The mediums I use to communicate depend on the ideas I am trying to convey. If this is pitching for buy-in, it's typically informal, and I like to use a whiteboard, excel spreadsheet, or a lucid chart to communicate visually. If this is a formal presentation, I want to use Powerpoint to render the idea and videos to demonstrate more technical concepts.

Process Journal: Ideation
Our team's problem definition is that individuals with health concerns can be unaware of when their immune systems are vulnerable due to health imbalances and insufficient shared data for treatment. We started to converge all of our information about possibilities to solve our problem definition. It seemed that the options are endless, and it seems that we need to funnel our solutions to a more narrow set of solutions. So when our team voted on our top three out of six, we started to combine and create more ideas to narrow down the answers. Our team has a long way to go before narrowing down the solution to the problem we've defined. So far, we have come up with these top three solutions, but we need to go back to the divergent step and do additional research to determine the most viable solutions.
We are making a biodegradable tab that is instantly tested at home via a urine test to improve their immune systems.
We are making a wrist sensor for those who suffer from anxiety so they can be supported in reducing stress.
We are making a wrist sensor that will detect mood/stress and suggest curative foods, including Eastern and Western medicine.

HOME
The inside of my home is painted Swiss Coffee White and looks clean and crispy. My house is cozy and has a minimalist feel. The decor in my house is simple and easy to clean. We like to use natural elements for decor and neutral colors.

WORK
Work is rewarding and fast-paced. Currently, I work from home, and I am on virtual calls for 60% of my day. My marketing work supports four industries, and two of my industries are more exciting than the others. My physical office is called the foxhole based on its location and lacks sufficient lighting for time awareness, so I have special lighting sensors that change based on the time.

LINCOLN
Lincoln is my seven-year-old French Bulldog that smells like ass and is adorable. He has always had a strange smell, so he goes by Lincoln and Stinky Pinky, and the latter seems more appropriate. Stinky Pinky sleeps most of the day, and when he is happy, he snorts, which was confusing at first because I thought he was having difficulty breathing. Lincoln is smelly, and he's the love of my life.

HOME BREWED KOMBUCHA
Home brewed Kombucha is easy to brew and takes four ingredients to make: Water, Sugar, Black Tea, and a SCOBY. The SCOBY can be ordered online and is difficult to find in stores. Once you have the four ingredients, you brew tea, add sugar and wait for the tea to cool before adding the SCOBY. Once the tea has cooled, add your SCOBY and tea to a glass jar. Next, cover with some cheesecloth and sit in a cool and dark environment for 7-10 days.

CROSSFIT
CrossFit is challenging and rewarding. At the end of each workout, you feel accomplished and strong. The movements vary daily and push you to your physical limit. Each training session has a Metcon and is paired with a weight lifting component. This is to maximize your fat burn and add muscle mass.

Process Journal: Definition
After a discussion with our group, we have determined that we will be tackling our project from a broad level. The overall intention of our product is for a general audience, which will allow our product to pivot if necessary. Our discussions take us back and forth between defining a marketable audience with specific ailments and producing a viable product that will work for a generic audience. Initially, my team wanted to go with a wearable or AI device like mirror recognition. Still, for the types of preventative health and data collection we are trying to solve, I think an injectable biodegradable would best solve our problem. We defined our group's problems as Individuals with health concerns can be unaware of when their immune systems are vulnerable due to health imbalances and insufficient shared data for treatment.
Personal Notes:
According to my research, the most common way to test for immune system deficiency and health imbalance is through blood samples. Suppose we go back to the idea of a microchip instead of a wearable. We can start microchipping people to run a monthly diagnostic to check for specific health parameters, much like an eShield device. We can configure a microchip to run multiple diagnostics with customized parameters. The microchip I am proposing will do the following:
Run monthly blood diagnostic for preventative healthcare
Customized parameters of the microchip-based upon specific needs.
Have real-time data processed to a cloud service for your records and physicians to crowdsource treatments and conditions.

Process Journal: Analysis
This week, I learned about morphological analysis, a method for identifying, structuring, and investigating the whole set of possible relationships in a given multidimensional problem complex. This method was applied to my research this week to understand different biometric sensors commonly used in the commercial market. Through web research, I learned that six commonly used biometric sensors exist that provide real-time data.
Interestingly, some sensors can be combined with others to create auto sensors. A good example is TTP223B touch digital sensor, replacing traditional direct buttons with MQ-3 Alcohol Sensor, which detects alcohol, ethanol, and smoke. Combining these two sensors can create an Intoxolock, which would not allow someone to start their vehicle if they were intoxicated.
This week has been enlightening in regards to morphological analysis and learning about biometric sensor types and capabilities. Science and biomedical technology is not my bailiwick. Still, I can see that if I have an idea about any topic, I can follow some basic processes for reacher and analysis to learn more about the subject.

Process Journal: Acceptance
A successful outcome of this project means providing people with accurate data on their health and helping them make better and more informed decisions, thus causing them to become active participants in their healthcare with a personal device. To kick off our success and go-to-market product, our team would host a launch party to demonstrate the effectiveness of the individual device. I believe the project my team is undertaking will disrupt healthcare for both health enthusiasts and critical patients.
I am a health enthusiast; however, I struggle with my weight and hydration levels, with a predisposition to diabetes. A personal device with a biometric scanner with a customized setting on the health parameters I chose to follow would help me maintain an accurate understanding of my health in real-time, allowing me to adjust my levels of fluid and sugar.
On a professional note, this would prove that you don't necessarily have to be a complete expert in a niche market to develop new and innovative breakthroughs. You can be an average person with a passion for making a difference, setting your mind to it, and putting in the work.
