HELLO I AM BACK FROM MY 5 DAY BREAK. i’m still working on the lore docs but i’ve finished a major part of the hub doc for further connecting the stories!!! also rewrote a massive plot point (cafe columbine) + added a much needed plot point to another story (the apocalypse grows)

i PROMISE i’ll be back soon with some coherently written lore,,, art posts just seem to do better on here i fear,, hello new people who came from my art posting,,,, grab a seat at the table. you’re welcome here.

Calyx Resonance

The radiation emitted during Event Emberfall isn’t just physical. It interacts with the pathways in your brain, as if it “reads” the psyche and amplifies the most dominant emotional/moral traits in people.

This phenomenon is dubbed Moral Resonance Syndrome. The radiation causes neural over-expression in regions tied to conscience, instinct, and decision making. The result is that a person’s dominant moral/emotional traits become their entire personality, amplifying, exaggerating, and permanently shifting their behavior.

An example I’ll give is the moral type that Aramis Knowles adopted.

The Ascendant

Trait Amplified: Idealism, perfectionism, world-betterment.

The Ascendant believes that everything is broken. People, systems, nature itself. It is their purpose to perfect it all. They see themselves as a corrective force, not a villain: a living tool of “refinement,” “cleansing,” or “uplift.”

They don’t seek to improve themselves, they are already chosen. Their obsession is the world. Anyone who resists their interventions is labeled incomplete, corrupted, or obsolete.

Behavior:

- Judges others constantly, identifying flaws in behavior, thinking, even emotional expression.

- Uses surgical precision in “fixing” people. Mentally, physically, ideologically.

- Enforces structure: may repaint walls, rearrange furniture, or destroy anything “chaotic.”

In A Botanist’s Obsession, there are two main scientific companies that come into play.

One of those is NovaGen Solutions.

NovaGen Solutions

NovaGen Solutions was a nuclear testing company based on the island of St. Ardyn’s Rock, off the coast of England. They advertised themself as an innovator in cleaner nuclear energy, radiation shielding, and production of medical isotopes. Publicly, they were able to maintain the image of a clean brand by sponsoring scientific conferences and green-tech expos.

Their island facility is located on a small island off the coast of England called St. Ardyn’s Rock, an island only used for vacation destinations due to its great weather and wildlife. The facility was originally used as a military radar station in WWII, but after the war it was decommissioned and the facility was quietly acquired by NovaGen in the early 2000s.

This facility was internally called “Project Emberfall.”

Away from the public eye, they developed tactical nukes for a group of private investors, testing the limits of nuclear technology. Their experiments were incredibly unstable, using subcritical materials and utilizing extreme energy state simulations. Some say there might have been human experimentation to simulate nuclear warfare scenarios.

It all started with one event. The day they put their project Calyx Protocol into motion.

The objective of the Calyx Protocol was to develop a contained micro-fusion reaction using exotic particles to achieve clean, small-scale fusion energy bursts. This could be utilized as a power source for satellites, submarines, or mobile bases.

This took place underneath the Emberfall facility, Blacksite Theta, a subterranean research complex.

But something went wrong. A miscalculation in one of their key technologies, muon resonance frequencies, caused a feedback loop inside the confinement chamber. Instead of dissipating, the reaction pulled ambient quantum energy from the surrounding matter, effectively “eating” the vacuum buffer meant to stabilize it.

A radiologically devastating release occurred. The release emitted exotic radiation that affected organic matter on a genetic and neurological level. On top of that, it emitted beta particles with no known half-life, meaning that they do not decay, only transform nearby matter.

And like disaster after the other, there was a single shockwave of light, and all outside communication ceased instantly.

The aftermath that occurred was that everything organic (plants, animals, and others alike) were altered. Structures within range were partially fused with rock & vegetation. Metal beams grew bark, and computers pulsed with chlorophyll.

The island was filled with nuclear radiation. Although, the farther away you were from the Emberfall facility, the harder it was to detect. Without a proper hazmat suit, exploring St. Ardyn’s rock would most likely be detrimental to not only your body but also your mind.

i recently got the chance to read this poem out loud to an audience, and it was wonderful <3

people called it thought provoking and touching, which i’m super happy about!!

sometimes you forget that you actually have talent and are totally cool ;D

i haven’t written much recently, but i just wrote this poem so here you guys go , i’m feeding you 🤲🏾

The Aster

I have gone by the name ‘Aster’ for as long as I remember

although I do not remember too much.

It started as just a random name to cling to

a soft blanket around me

a mask to clutch.

No matter the weather

wind, rain or shine,

I hear it come from someone’s mouth every time.

As if it was natural

as if it was right

as if it was something I should cherish

not something I should fight.

An aster is a flower

dainty and pure

it comes from stars in the sky.

it is lovely

it is simple

it is pretty

but it’s everything I am not.

I’m not a flower,

dainty and pure.

I cannot grace the presence of others with my glittering grandeur.

I’m silly

I’m tacky

I’m a hypocrite

and I hardly recognize who I see in the mirror each day.

A flower is resilient,

and blooms beautifully

no matter wind, rain or shine.

It firmly plants its roots in the soil it was blown into.

It doesn’t falter

it doesn’t whine.

So tell me little flower

who may I be?

Your pointed petals speak to me.

So tell me little flower

am I an aster like you?

Your name itself is just too cute.

So if I may little flower

although it may not seem too fair

can I borrow your name,

just once,

and I’ll get out of your hair?

You are my flowery facade

my mask I tightly clutch

you are my safety blanket

and I live in your shadow

although it may seem too much.

you’re comforting

you’re reliable

You are safe.

But I know all too well

that this safety of mine will not last for too long.

I feel my mask wither and twitch

and it tells me something is wrong.

This name that I have clung to

no matter how hard I pull and tug

could never be mine alone.

I knew it when it didn’t fit on my face right

when the nooks and crannies of my face rejected it

I knew it when it fell off at times

and I scrambled to pick up the broken pieces

because this mask of mine is fragile

So for the last time

I pick up the broken pieces

but do not piece them back together

Because the aster is resilient

it stands its ground.

It moves forward

even with a frown.

And although it is painful

and brings me much sorrow

I will return the name I have held

for it does not fit me any longer.

Thank you little flower

for you have given much joy.

But I must move on to better things,

hobbies and interests I enjoy.

The little fragments of the name I once used

stay with me,

indubitably fused.

So please remember

the next time you see my face

that I am not a flower

although you may see a trace

Like the embers of my carefully picked name

I too will fall

But no worries

do not fret

because to this flower of mine

I have finally paid my debt.
