HOT BUTTON ISSUE: 01/27
We’re going to blog about a hot button issue every week! This week’s topic is: GAY BARS
Related Article: http://www.leoweekly.com/2016/01/evolution-%E2%80%A8the-gay-bar/
In more recent years the community (LBGT+) has seen massive TRIUMPHS in the bar and club scene. In 2005, it was hard to locate any gay venues at all and now there’s at least one in nearly every city. Why and how did this come to be? We have an opinion!
Because the community has become increasingly more self-aware and more abundant, we see that gay venues are opening up every where. There’s also been a large demand on the home front for lesbian hook up areas and pansexual and bisexual stand-ins. But what does this mean for our community in the upcoming years? Can we expect growth? What do YOU think, gay America? - Claire

Our Story
Hannah Abott, a devout journalist and rights activist, decided that enough was enough when it came to neglected, abandoned, abused, discriminated members of the LGBTTQQIAAP community. Hannah grew up in a small but close Catholic home where freedom of sexual orientation and gender did not exist, and she knew first-hand how awful things could get. She, along with a great group of individuals, got together to create Identity Finders. What started as a small group of about ten people who wanted to change lives has known grown into a flourishing group of nearly 30 staff members (on and off site) who are passionate about change.
Today, we occupy a storefront building off of Morgan Street in Raleigh, NC which houses up to 5 people a night. We hold over 15 strong small groups each week for multiple sessions and continue to grow more groups. We’ve held and attended marches, peaceful protests, charity events, and demonstrations across the city. Identity Finders is a non-profit organization and we serve our community freely. Donations are welcome! Please contact us for further information about this.
