Atychiphobia Part 5 - Funding for This Program
[NOTE: sorry if it's hard to tell which character is talking, i can color it later]
“Lambda. Rho. My 2 best employees.” The vice president was stern. “I’ve brought you here to-”
“Discuss the pure strange matter generator?” Rho said cheerily. “I only need a few more months to finish it, maybe a year or two by myself-”
“We’re bankrupt, Rho. We’re bankrupt! And I can’t rely on your strange way of gathering energy. You still haven’t told me where you get that. But-”
“Kidnapping Electrons. It’s surprisingly easy to harvest raw electricity from them.”
“...But it doesn’t matter. We’re shutting down SaAM.”
“WHAT!?”
“Rho, we’re bankrupt.” Lambda still had no emotion in her voice.
“Yeah, what Lambda said.” The vice president sighed. “I’m gonna miss this place. It sucked, but I’m gonna miss this place a lot.”
“But sir, the project!”
“Is cancelled! We don’t have funding, it’s that simple. We can throw the strange matter into the vitrified basements, that’s nothing important. You have one day to get your belongings, I don’t care about the other employees. Go.”
“Yes, sir.” Lambda walked away.
“But... but-”
“Just go, Rho. This place is worthless.” The vice president started walking away.
“...Fine.” Rho knew they wouldn’t keep that promise. They had too much work to do.
PRESENT DAY
A knock came from Delta’s door. “Hello. We’re looking for an electron named Delta.”
They opened the door. “Oh. It’s you.”
“Heys, dont nots be mad at mes!” Strangelet and Lambda stood at the door.
“I’m not.” Delta looked at Lambda. “Who came with you.”
“Lambda. Coworker 7 years ago. It’s likely that you’ve rebirthed so you don’t remember me.”
“Oh.” Delta’s face stayed neutral. “Why do you need me?”
“Rho is building a strange matter machine that will kill us all if we don’t stop it.”
“WHATS??? You did no tell mes that!?”
“Because there was a reasonable chance you’d run away.”
“But whyyyyyyys...”
Delta looked confused. “That doesn’t explain why you need me. I’m not really. Useful here.”
“Doesn’t matter. I need as many people I can.”
“but whys did you picks delta? theyr mean...”
“I’m mean? I barely remember... Oh.” Their neutral expression faded. “I’m... sorry about that-”
“Well i dons fourgive you!!!!!” Strangelet looked proud of themselves.
“...Whatever.” Their emotion faded again.
Lambda grabbed Delta and started walking. “We need to go now.”
“Oh.”
“Why were yous all the way o over here anywa... anyways???”
“Bored of the city. Granted, the grasslands aren’t much better.”
“But wes w were trying to finds you for sooooooooo, ooooooooo long!!!”
“...I didn’t know you were looking for me.” Their tone became aggressive.
“Well i thinks tha-”
“We’re here.” Lambda said.
The facility towered above them. It had became overgrown with plants with little specks of strange matter.
“wha..? dat was fast.”
“Eh, I guess time flies when you’re talking with a brat.” Delta wasn’t smiling.
“Heys!”
Lambda tore the door open with it’s glove. “The non-testing rooms are useless now. You may destroy things if you need to.”
“Woahs... this i is so cool!”
“I don’t... remember this. Do I?” Delta was in discomfort. “Whatever. Let’s just get this over with.” They picked up a sharp piece of broken concrete.
Lambda didn’t respond. “Second basement, room 212.”
“whoa- Dis place has twoooo basements???”
“7. Don’t enter the lower ones, they haven’t been touched for decades.”
“awwwws...”
Their steps echoed down the stairs. Lambda stayed stern. “Be careful, they’ve likely set down traps that-” Lambda’s glove barely caught a flying piece of glass. “Rho.”
“Ah, Lambda!” The neutron looked strangely happy as they always had. “...And Delta.”
“excuse me who is this person”
“A n.. new friend!!”
“Not a friend.”
“Lambda, what do you mean I’m not a friend? Oh right, we’re ‘coworkers’ to you.”
“Stop stalling.”
“Really, Lambda? But there’s so much to talk about! Like the strangelet specimen you have! And Delta.”
“Wha- who even are you?”
“Ah, you must’ve rebirthed. Makes sense, knowing you.”
“...Lambda when can we kill this person”
Rho frowned. “Lambda, you can drop the act now. I know you doubted me, but this is-”
*-BEEP- Machine 221 Charging Finished. Machine 221 Startup Initiated. Machine 221 5 Minutes until Initiation.* A machine near Rho started spinning.
The neutron grinned. “...Interrupted. Rude. But it doesn’t matter-”
“Okay, what the hell is this??” The electron shouted.
“Ah, yes, you see, that strangelet there isn’t really a strangelet.”
“Heys! i am the strangelet!!”
“Ah, it has a mind. Fascinating, but worthless. Anyways, real strange matter would destroy the world in a matter of hours. Which is what im making. But don’t worry, I’ve got some material that can store it.”
“...WHAT.” Delta exclaimed.
“oh dont worries they can stores it! but i AM a a real strange let...”
Lambda sighed. “We don’t know if we can store it. The test is too risky.”
“But imagine what we could do with it! You may call me insane, but at least I know I’m a genius.”
Rho continued monologuing. “Delta, Rho’s the only one with the password to shut this down, and we can’t convince him with words.”
“Are you suggesting we...?” Delta pointed at strangelet.
“No.” Lambda shot at Rho with her glove, but their ray stopped suddenly. Rho didn’t even notice. “They have a shield. Yes. Yes we need to use Strangelet now.”
“did somebodies say m my name????”
“...Strangelet.” Delta spoke cautiously. “That neutron. Is the only person that can stop that machine from doing bad things. Mean. Things. But he’s not going to stop it willingly. So, we need you to-”
“No.”
Delta was confused. “Strangelet, what do you mean-”
“No. I’m not goings to hurt him. dat.. that guy has the life and i cants hurt him be because thats mean and ruin s his life!”
Lambda stepped in. “Strangelet-”
“A and im not going to let myself b be used again! youres just delta, and delta 2... the meanier one!”
“what the fuck man”
Lambda glanced at Delta. “It’s no use talking to them at this point. Rho’s distracted, so we’ll need to attack him physically.”
“Oh. I can’t... really... my tail is burnt.”
“...I’m going to kill you after this.”
Lambda walked up to Rho. “And so you can’t just heat up the neutron matter, you have to-” They punched him in the face, although it seemed somewhat weak. “o-OW, wh-LAMBDA, really?? I knew you were salty, but this is a NEW LOW, you know I never really liked you anyway-” It shoved Rho on the ground, him easily getting back up. “Ok. Rude. Whatever, It’s not like you’re gonna kill me-”
Lambda grabbed Rho by the neck. “Rho. Tell me how to turn off this thing or I WILL kill you and shut it off myself, potentially destroying the world. Likely ending the world.”
“Well. You think quite one-dimensionally.” Rho pulled a taser out and shocked Lambda, freeing himself. “Given that you’ll likely be forever unstable and crippled, this wasn’t my favorite option. But hey, you did try to kill me, and at least you’ll be more like Charm now.”
“What- you know them??”
Rho had a bored expression as Lambda attempted to pull themselves up. “Of course you idiot, they worked here. I’m surprised you still know them after rebirthing. Whatever, they’re not my problem.”
“whats... thats kind ofs mean...”
*-BEEP- 1 Minute until Initiation*
“it has not been 4 minutes”
“Eh, I MAY or may not have sped up the process. In any case, how did you make a strangelet this dumb? Did you just infect a child with brain damage or something? Whatever, doesn’t matter.”
“Now y-youres being means to me’s! ...Was Delta rights?”
“Uh, yeah?” Delta was fidgeting with a broken piece of stone. “He’s kinda about to. End the world. Which hasn’t really registered in my mind so far...”
“Ohhhh... I can’t just hurt rhos, that would be m mean! Gasp! Lightbulb brains!”
“what”
“I have the ideas!” Strangelet floated over and touched the strange matter machine. “Sees? Now everyone will b-be safe and... sounds!”
Rho noticed the strangelet. “Uhhhh that’ll be fine. I think.”
“...strangelet what have you done”
An alarm went off. *Warning: Machine 221 Unstable. Halting Initiation. Self Destruction Likeliness: 103%*
Lambda was up again. “Delta, get behind me!” It’s glove sputtered.
“This... can’t be happening.” Rho dropped to the ground. “What have you absolute buffoons DONE!?”
Cracks started appearing in the machine. Bright light came out of them, until-
Delta coughed. “What.. what happened?” Strange matter surrounded them.
“I-I-I- TRIed... are yo-U infected?” Lambda’s glove was smoking, and a red light strobed on their backpack-like machine.
“No...? Are you? It doesn’t... seem like it.”
“auehh... my eyes hurts... Woahs! Theres so much of, of mes around!”
“Just your strange matter at least. ...Lambda, are you okay?”
“I-I don’t. Kno-O-O-w. My stabilizer is fail-I-Ing, and I can’t repl-A-ce it. ...Is this ho-W Charm feels? I nev-Er-Er-Er understood them. I supPOSE that was a mis-ta-a-ke.”
“I’ve only talked to Charm for like one minute are they a god here.”
“N-O? This is a-A scientific workPLA-A-ACe.”
“That was a joke.”
“Oh.” Lambda took it’s glove off. “I have n-OO idea how-How to fix that. Doesn’t matteR-R. It’s just a tooL.”
“We should probably leave this basement. I don’t want the strange matter dropping on us.”
“Fair.”
“And everyones live happily ever.. ever after. Yaaaaaay! Whuh- whys you standing there, Del... Delta.”
They were holding some sort of gun. It had the words ‘Strange Matter Acceleration Shotgun Device’ ingrained on it. “Oh, don’t worry, I’m still coming.”
“Okays! I still donts comPLETELY forgive yous tho...”
“Whatever.” They looked at the gun. “Just in case...”
“Those IDIOTS destroying my genius invention and turning me into a... whatever.” Rho was half-converted by strange matter. “But it’s fine, Rho. You can still work on this again. Even if you only have one arm to use. Good thing I still have those electron corpses. At least the explosion likely didn’t affect any of the vitrified tests.”
Rho was wrong. Multiple floors under him, beneath hundreds of corpses, a cryogenic storage door opened.
“Trrrrrrrrrrr...”

Atychiphobia Part 4 - Greed and Lust
[NOTE: Minor blood warning!]
Delta hated the rain. Delta hated being right next to some boring city next to some boring forest. The grasslands were dangerous, but they were comforting. Right, Delta? It’s not that you could have lived a normal life here. It’s not that you want some twisted reality you could never have. Where you could change something. The thoughts echoed in their head. They still hated the city. But the grasslands. But the facility. Too many thoughts were flooding their brain. Why did this all go wrong. Why did this all go so, SO-
14 YEARS AGO
“Delta, I really don’t think this is a good idea.”
“Oh, come on Lustre! It’ll be fine.” The electron was hanging onto a wire fence.
“It’s just... this might be a bit too much? This is owned by a big organization, and if we get caught, then we could, or would go to jail.”
“Look, we’re not gonna get caught.” Delta climbed across the fence. “See? Easy. Now, to climb the fence, all you have to do is-” The photon flied across the fence. “Oh. That too.”
“Well, that was boring.” Delta said.
The bat-like photon looked at them. “You understand my point now, right?”
“Yeah, I guesssss. But still, it could’ve been fun!”
“Fun isn’t what I’m trying to explain here.”
“Cheer up. What’s the point of life if you can’t do anything fun?”
“...Maybe you have a point there.”
“Now THATS the Lustre I know!” Delta knew Lustre wasn’t as sad as he looked. But why would he act that way, Delta thought. He wasn’t an electron.
“Shouldn’t you be working on your studies right now?”
“Chill out, I’m fine,” The electron said. “I’ve got this test in the bag.”
“The test was a week ago. They don’t make up all your grades.”
“But do I care?”
“You never have, really.”
“Yeah, ‘cause it doesn’t matter!”
“Eh. Lets agree to disagree.” The photon paused. “You could be really good at this thing.”
“Meh, whatever.”
“End of the school year, I guess.”
“Yeah.” Lustre muttered.
“...So. I’m presuming you’ve done great on your grades, right?”
“Yeah. sorta.”
“That’s good. But, uh, I’ve actually been working more on this school thing. I’m sure you’d like that. You know, I’ve actually been researching, and there’s this big science company near us, and it researches strange matter, which is surprisingly interesting, you see-”
Lustre had left them.
“Aw sweet, I got accepted to Rosewood! That’s the best alt-particle college in the state!” Delta looked around. “Lustre?”
“Oh. Hi.”
“What did you get?”
“...Thomson.”
“Thomson!?” Delta was shocked. “Surely you’re better than that!”
“Whatever, as you say.” Lustre looked apathetic. “Guess we won’t be together anymore.”
The electron panicked. “Woah, woah. Don’t worry! I’ll go to Thomson with you.”
“Of course you wont. This is too good of an opportunity. Why would you give up now.”
“...I guess. But I can visit you! It’ll be fine. I know it’ll be fine.” Delta tried to keep Lustre calm. Their mind scrambled for things to say. “Don’t get sad. It, uh, spreads all over you, like that... strange matter thing I showed you! You remember that, right?”
“Sure. Whatever you say.”
Delta. Of course. Delta, you idiot! You’ve been too soft, and now they’re going to ghost you, sooner or later. Just. Please come now, Lustre.
To Delta’s relief, the photon came out from behind a building. “Oh. Hi.” They didn’t smile, but they never smiled. This was normal. How were they even supposed to fix this now...
“Hi, Lustre!” Delta tried to look positive.
“Why are you... acting like that?”
“What? What do you mean? I’m not acting strange. In fact, thats quite rude of you to say.”
The photon didn’t seem to listen. “You know, Delta... there’s this group of people, photons, mainly, that I’ve been seeing, and they’re pretty nice.”
“...What do you mean.”
“Oh, uh, they’re a group. Dedicated to the sun. A-and theres electrons there too! You could join!”
“Lustre. You don’t mean-”
“Delta,” The photon said somewhat sadly, “I’m just gonna. Talk to these people more. Branch out a bit.” Delta wasn’t saying anything. “Sorry.” Lustre floated away.
“Woah. Lily.”
“Char-arm.”
“Charm.” Delta still wasn’t used to the new name. “What have you done with the place?”
“o-Oh, the floor isN’t real wood. It’s JusTTT a pattern plaster-ERed on.”
“Huh. I’m just confused how you could add all of that.”
“W-ELl. I’m not useless.”
They were still curious. How could they ask this... maybe this could be positive? People liked positivity, right? Delta wondered why they were struggling with such easy conversations again. “Well, I meant it was impressive that you could do that.”
“yEah, yeah, whate-E-verrr.” Charm paused. “Have you been. Ge-ETTIng food? A-After you got FIRed and all that-t.”
“Oh. That’s not important, I still have money.” Delta couldn’t tell Charm that they were stealing food.
“wEll. good for you.”
“...Oh- Wait, how have YOU been getting food?”
“I... havE-E-EN’t, really. The machine kEEps me alive, but I-I’ve been starving fo-Or the past few... I can’t kEep track of the ti-time.
“Oh. Damn. I’m... sorry. Are you alright?”
“N-O???? I’ve been just sitting he-ERE for who knOWS how long.” Charm glanced at Delta after a brief pause. “Don’t think thAAAAAt being jobless makes Y-Our situa-T-Tion any better.”
“Oh, that wasn’t what I was saying. Just. It’s hard for both of us. Equally. Or, I mean-”
“E-E-Equally? what DO you Me-An equally???”
“N-No, I meant-”
“How-ow many times do I hA-A-Ave to say I’ve been here for A-AGES, and if I stay here for ONE M-OR-ORE SECOND I’m going to-”
“...Charm.”
“Ge-et out.”
They had barely been surviving for the past 5 years. They could get some minor jobs, but as a broke electron, they really had nowhere to go. It was a miracle they hadn’t rebirthed, but perhaps that’s just a habit their parents put in them. They had always wondered if they should go back to Charm, but they had fought off the urge. But. It couldn’t hurt, could it? All they had to do was just open the door. It had been 5 years, sure things have chang-
“Delta?” Delta jumped. There was a photon behind them, grey, sort of bat-like, and...
“Lustre?”
“Delta. It’s you. It’s really you! A-a lot of amazing things have happened and, in the past 7ish, whatever years and-”
“Hey, heyheyhey, slow down.” Delta paused. They couldn’t find any major differences in their appearance other than tattoos on them, which seemed to be reminiscent of the...
“o-Oh, are you wondering what happened? Because. A lot of stuff happened. A lot of good stuff!” Delta knew where this was going. “So that. Sun group I showed you! I know you might not completely like it, but it’s really cool! I mean, it’s really nice to have people who can help you with... I can’t really explain it but it’s really good!”
“Lustre... I’m. Glad to see you, but...” Delta didn’t know how to talk through this. Maybe they just had to be less... sensitive. That was the word. “It’s been a long time. It’s hard to remember stuff.”
“Oh. Well. That’s fine! The past doesn't really matter now... I can tell you all about what’s happened.”
“Hah. Yeah. It’s. Not been good for me.”
“Oh. Well... You know. Joining is always an option.”
“Lustre, I... appreciate. The offer. But. Maybe we could take this slower. Or something.”
“Oh. o-Okay. That’s alright.”
“Yeah. This’ll be fine.” Delta tried to convince themselves this. They had nowhere else to go, and this was their friend, nothing about the sun would hurt it-
Another photon flew in from behind the corner. “Oh, Lustre? Did you find a new recruit?” It was yellow, with butterfly wings...
Delta stood silently. Lustre jumped in shock. “Oh, uh, not right now, Syzygy. Just a normal civilian-”
“Well, you know the rules. It’s best to... eliminate those who have came into contact. Or whatever.” Syzygy pushed Lustre away. “Hey, This one looks familiar!”
“What- really? You know Delta?” Delta was praying to whatever stupid god was in the heavens.
“Delta,” The words seemed to slither out of the photon’s mouth. “I know that name...” In a split second, Syzygy unsheathed her claws and lunged at Delta, scarring their face. “Ugh. Unlucky aim.”
“What- Syzygy, what are you doing!?”
“LUSTRE THIS IS WHAT I TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT CULT AND NOW WE’RE- I’M GOING TO DIE BECAUSE OF IT.” Their mind scrambled for something to say. “YOU’RE BETTER THAN THIS.” The photon seemed to be frozen.
“Aw, come on, Lustre. Where is a damn knife when a girl needs one... Don’t listen to some electron. Now. Do your little wing thing.”
“WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN, WING THING??????”
“I... It’s...”
“Oh, Lustre here just got a special thing when they joined us. Their wings can empower others! Or, photons. Something to do with light rays, I don’t care. Anyways, c’mon, we’re waiting for you.” Delta knew that Lustre had probably gone insane, but they wouldn’t do this. Right?
“...Fine.” The photon whipped their wings out, shining light onto Syzygy.
“Eh, whatever.” The photon seemed to be reverberating with energy. “I’ll make this quick.”
Energy. The last time Delta saw her, the photon was crippled when attacked by energy. All they needed was a spark- which they were horrible at creating. Delta tried reaching for something. Anything.
“Oh, feel free to escape,” Syzygy said, surprisingly quietly. “I love chasing scared prey.” Lustre’s wings faltered.
Delta found a matchstick. Twitching, they rubbed it against their tail, setting both on fire. Their tail would become damaged and the pain quite literally burned, but this was their only way to create energy.
“No running. Okay. Whatever.” She lunged at Delta, and they attempted to hold their burning tail up to the photon, praying that they wouldn’t die, praying that they had a reason not to die, praying that-
Delta woke up on the ground, their arms bleeding and tail burnt. They stood up. The photons were gone, with a minor trail of blood going the opposite direction. Maybe they left. At least Lustre wasn’t that horrible. It didn’t matter to them either way, they were dead to Delta. Their body still hurt. Maybe they’d get a drink, there was a good electron bar somewhere around here... While walking towards it, they saw a proton and some other cultish photon. Eh, they’d worry about them later.

Atychiphobia Part 3 - Vivisections and Vitrifications
- COPYRIGHT STRANGE AND ALTERNATIVE MATTER RESEARCH FACILITY 1961 -
Welcome... to the most esteemed science facility on the planet!
This is the Strange and Alternative Matter Research facility, better known as SaAM.
Every day, hundreds of revolutionary tests are being performed at SaAM, changing our understanding of science forever.
For instance, some of SaAM’s incredible scientific achievements include the Instant Scar Healing Packet (not avaliable for neutrons), the 3 Inch Quantum Tunneling Device, and Rotary Doors, citation needed. That’s part of the script right? No? whatever i dont get paid enough for this
Now, a few words from SaAM’s visionary CEO, Johnathan Dolton.
“is it recording? yes? no?? yes, alright. Most scientists in the world follow strict rules and morals to create their science. Not us. Here at the Strange and Alternative Matter Research Facility we build *our* science from the ground up. No handrails, no safety inspectors. Just pure science. I myself am honored to join the elite group of protons to win a nobel prize for my, lets be honest, incredible efforts. i didnt win a nobel prize? eh, whatever, they’ll believe it.”
And that’s your look into SaAM’s amazing scientists! You may be able to volunteer as a test subject for 30 free dollars per test, terms and conditions apply.
Lily, or, Charm, sat quietly in their grey, concrete room, unsure what to do. They had been able to change their medical bed into a chair, but being connected to their machine made any movement hard. They were alone and practically dying.
Just then, the one door in the room opened. It was Lambda. It had her usual backpack-style machine connected to a glove, one that could mediate strong force, or in short terms, move objects and quarks around.
“W-why are you here.” Lily said, their body appearing to be glitching.
“You don’t have to fluctuate your voice to explain what you mean, Charm.”
“DDONT call me that. and also, m-my ‘fluctu-U-U-ations’ in voice are just beCAUSE i’m unstable. have you eEver considered that when YOU became a lambda baryon?”
“Yes, but I made a machine to prevent unstability specifically.” Lambda glanced at Lily’s machine. “Yours appears to be focused on the prevention of rebirth, so this conversation could be null. Now, what was your original question?”
“D-ONt try to change the subject.”
Lambda was confused by Charm’s new behavior. “There is no more left to talk about the subject. You’re being irrational.”
“m-ME? BeEING IRRRRRRRATIONAl? Why wou-LD you risk YOUR LIFE j-just to BECOME some STUPID PA-artICLE???”
"I did it for science." Lambda said, unwavered.
"So what if you did it for sci-I-ience!? i-IF Anyone lays a FINGER on you YOU'LL EXPLODE. How are y-y-you goinG to do tests THEN, huh!?"
"...You simply do not understand our objective."
"o-OH yYYEaH? why Can't you understand THIS???"
Charm attempted to lunge at Lambda, but it dodged it and threw her back using her glove.
Lambda put it’s glove down. “Don’t do that again.”
“F-INe.” Charm couldn’t think straight. “Just pl-Lease leavE.”
It obliged. As Lambda left the room, she glanced at Charm. “Delta sent me here to look for you.”
Charm couldn’t keep track of the time. They had fallen asleep a bit around an hour after Lambda left. As shocking as it was, they needed that conversation or else she’d be bored to death. Although, their thoughts weren’t much better than dying.
A knock came from the door. At least that meant it wasn’t Lambda, they thought that knocking was ‘too inefficient.’ The door opened, and of course, it was Delta.
“Oh. h-HEEEy, Delta.”
“Hi.” Delta seemed worried. Maybe Lambda told them they were being ‘irrational’ or the like. Maybe they were right. Charm wished this could all go away. “So uh. boring room here. You’ve had to stay in here for the past day?”
“YeaH. The place is Bo-ORing, but the walls are hallow. Maybe I can do somethiNg with them.”
“Well, if anyone can do it, it’s you.” Delta was still nervous. Charm couldn’t help but share the feeling. “I guess your speaking has taken a big hit from that whole thing.”
“yeahYEAH. I feel like I’m faking I-IT at this point.”
“Don’t stress about it. I’m sure its fine, Lily. Did Lambda call you Charm?”
“Yeah, but it’s kinda groWN On me.”
“Huh. Alright, Charm? Feels strange calling you that.”
Melancholic silence filled the dimly lit room. “Has anyone mention-n-ned me at SaAM?”
“What do you think? The only other person that acknowledges your existence is Rho, and all he’s been doing is berating me about how both of us should have been tested.”
“Fair. Why did they even leave me i-In this room Anyway? I can STill do science, can’t I?” They looked at Delta. They knew what they were thinking.
“I’m sure you still can. The facility is just filled with morons.”
“I guE-E-Ess that’s true.” Charm still looked sorrowful.
Delta paused. “Well. You really aren’t the only one in this boat. I got fired too.” “WHA-T???”
“Really. What did you expect from them.”
“SomethIINg other than this?? We’re... They’re going broke! They can-N’t afford that??”
“They can’t afford everything.”
Charm took a breath. “yeaAh, I guess so. Just didn’t ThinkThink they would be so stupid.”
“Well, that’s how Alex is!” Delta looked at Charm. “Well, you don’t have to worry about me. I’m sure I’ll be alright. And... you will too.”
“...Thanks.”
Charm didn’t believe a word Delta said.
