tw: talks about some of the characters' traumas(h. trafficking and stuff)

okay, so ill start off with giving out fake names. (also this is dnd related, just an fwi)

Our nice nice people shall be:

ASHLEY(current master), JENNY(ashley and owl's bff), OWL(you guys already know her, hehe), REX(sweetheart), AVELINE(sweetheart n2) aaaaaaand me.

Now,this all started back in may, when Ashley said she wanted to try out mastering a campaign for the first time. Now, since Jenny and Owl had already done so many times(especially Owl, shes the best i know in the field! she also works for cosplay conventions as a master for other rpgs in the summer, its so cool i swear) they of course let her, hoping it would have all been worth it.

As time passed by and a month became multiple (fyi their usual campaigns would last like, maybe 3 moths with a max of 10 sessions), everyone (except Jenny) started to notice just how boring and badly written it was getting. Owl tried multiple times to give out advice (mind you, in the nicest way possible as she quite literally has been doing that role for years now) about stuff others would hate, but she always reacted lashing out and then completely ghosting them until she'd either 1calm down and act as if it didnt matter or 2get an apology out of them.

I wasnt in their group yet, but started getting closer with all of them around this september as Jenny started prepping up a campaign that was supposed to start around november (due to the other one still not finished and her having a lot of stuff to do due to school).

SUPPOSED TO.

why? you might ask? IT HASNTEVEN STARTED YET.

So obviously, since this girl just kept on pumping out session after session trying to make this campaign a never ending one (she also admitted nonchalantly MULTIPLE TIMES that many werent even thought through [it showed..]) AND making my character SINCE AUGUST, preparing my sheet in december (jenny literally promised me it would have started around january), i was obviously growing tired of it.

I would also often listen to Owl, Adeline and Rex's rants (as they also became basically my best friends...dont worry Blue is also with us!) on their boredom and GENUINE DESPAIR as they just wished for it to end soon, not even able to handle that girl's need to be on the centre of attention anymore. (Owl cried in my arms. Multiple Times.)

A quick sum up of the least she did wrong (wont go too much into detail as im literally TIRED of debating on it):

Not accepting any kind of critisism, comment or literal advice and acting like everything's perfect --- Bad, BAD writing of the npc's, especially ones that went through literal HUMAN. TRAFFICKING. (no, ash, your guy who had to be chained and totured for years and had to go through forced labour since he was a child WOULD NOT REALISTICALLY BE A "BDSM KING"....GIRL, WHAT THE HELL ToT) ---- COSTANTLY made fights that literally lasted hours in which more than half an hour was dedicated to her 8. EIGHT NPCs SHE TREATED LIKE THEY WERE THE MCs and Jenny's character being a "girlboss"...and then would went on and attack only Owl,Rex and Adeline's characters - Get mad when they would realistically get slightly distracted or joked during her basically hour lasting ted talks (basically just her making her own npcs talk with each other and forcefeed everyone their lore ALL THE TIME).

Now, given their tiredness, the day after their 15th SESSION they decided for Rex to send her a message as he had always been the sweet one of the group and it would have been better for the "nice one" to text her. He sent a long, polite message telling her about the problematics some of them had found in the campaign, and even apologies in the end if it sounded like an attack, promising it wasnt.

And of course? She went completely insane over it.

After a bit of back and forth between her, Ashley demanding to know who the "others" were (girl, bffr its a group of five, he used multiple so more than him and another person, its obvious the majority talked about it), she sent a message in the gc basically going like: "hey so u guys have some problems with the way i did stff? alright: the campaign's done. Have fun! Ill go with my REAL friends"

............huh.

she also left the groupchat, to which like??? okay??? pop off with the 6th grade behaviour!!! youre SO cool for being immature! /sarc

Anyhow, now we dont know Jenny's opinion on it, will probably do so on friday as Owl will go to her house to hang out and grab some stuff she left last session (which indeed was at Jenny's house.)

I'm just sure of one thing: if that girl suddently decides the campaign i will be in wont happen anymore I'll CRASH. OUT.

No, ive not spent SEVEN MONTHS making my character's(she her) full cosplay, gadgets, helping other player at making theirs, making HER SECRET DIARY WITH ALL THE LORE IN IT, giving her full detail to the world building of the kingdom she grew up in (with economic and legal system too), making endless drawings for her and everyone else and over all researching all about what there was to know on her race and neurodivergencies (which i have too, but did so anyway jjust in case) and also making a full class sheet (i think thats how it's called? The paper where you have all the classes youre gonna have every day of the week) for NOTHING!!

So, this is the drama...i'll go do more research for my other ocs now :3

Also today I showed my oldest nephew/cousin (the 5 y/o) minecraft since he wanted to play with it on my computer and let me just say that little fella is very smart. It was very fun and he liked to feed the parrots.

30th March / 1st april

So, many things have happened !!

Btw happy birthday to one of Owl's ocs. Happy birthday eiran.

So I went to my aunt's house today and there was a big part of my dad's family there and my cousins/nephew and nieces. They were nice, I mean they were kids after all so it was just playing with them. (Literally 5, 2 and some months old)

It was tireing so by the time I got to my mom's house I was basically sleeping LMAO. Anyway I got to eat LOTS of chocolate and yeah, that was kind of it for Easter.

I also talked all day with Owl and just. It was so nice.

Not only we stayed on call for some hours just sillying and talking about whatever, we also chatted a lot in the evening afterwards.

She's honestly so precious. I know I always say that but it's true. She's always so nice to others and she's creative and smart and pretty I just ughhhhhhhh

Sad that we can't hang out all the time though, but it's honestly just fair. Anyway for this specific entry is all, good night ☆☆

Little update on what I'm doing rn:

Owl is sleeping rn so I can't chat with her (I mean FAIR I'm the one who should also be sleeping here) and idk if blue is too but I think he is. My sister's upstairs working on props for her cosplay. I'll probably start preparing to go to bed now. (94% battery)

I just ended a call on discord with 2 friends from my d&d group and it was all overall just fun brainrot. Wanted to join them in our mc server but it still won't let me load into it for some fucking reason

Ig I'll have to actually BUY the game, geez..

LMAO but it's okay I asked my dad and he said he'd be okay with getting it for me even though I kinda wanted life is strange more(also cause it costs less) but eh I'll just get it in the future i guess.

We laughed a lot and just sent lots of stupid memes on the gc. Apparently while I've been not able to join MANY things have happened on the mc server. Like, they divided into TWO factions. Not gonna go into details but it's all very dumb and funny so I can't wait to join them.

Hurray so Owl is back from her hang out and I've had dinner. Simple sandwiches with mortadella(APPARENTLY THERES NO ENGLISH WORD FOR IT BUT ITS SIMILIAR TO DRIED HAM IF IT MAKES SENSE) and mozzarella cheese. They tasted good.

Also Still Life by Sitcom started playing so that's something.

Anyway, I wanna do one of those "meet the artist" drawings. I just wanna break free from my art block :(

Also, tomorrow's easter and weirdly I don't really want it to be so.

Like, no???? I don't want easter to be tomorrow; I want time to rest from school and shit not more worries in the head, god.

I wanna remind everyone that all of the fun lore and stories in the Splatoon franchise have never been explained or revealed through normal gameplay.

Splatoon 1’s story mode never really explains why Callie and Marie are Agents 1 and 2 outside of the fact captain cuttlefish is their grandpa. Beating the levels never explains why Octarians live underground. Defeating Octavio doesn’t explain what happened to humans. Or why Judd exists.

The gameplay of Octo Expansion doesn’t elaborate on what the deep sea metro is. Or even what/how sanitization even is or works. Or what octarian society is like. Or why your agent 8 is in a test tube.

Splatoon 3’s Salmon Run doesn’t elaborate on what or why you’re collecting eggs. Or why Big Runs happen. Or what the prophesy is.

You could play through each game and never find out the answers to any of these questions. And judging by the number of people who seem confused Splatoon has lore, it’s pretty clear that that’s the default state for the majority of players.

All of that lore and history is hidden in collectibles like the sunken scrolls, text chat logs, dev diaries, employee manuals, and other optional venues. And even then it’s often presented in cryptic ways or obscured with a severe lack of context. The closest Splatoon has ever gotten to explaining things in gameplay was at the end of Octo expansion, and even there it was an info-dump delivered so fast you needed a pause button to catch it all.

Because at the end of the day the story of Splatoon doesn’t really matter to the gameplay. You aren’t supposed to question how your character can hyper jump into space, you’re supposed to enjoy the spectacle of fighting a giant goo bear on a rocket while kick-ass music plays!

Whenever I see fans lamenting that Splatoon’s story had “so much potential” or “didn’t go dark enough” or “wasn’t utilized properly” I have to wonder why they’re here. Because while I, personally, enjoy piecing together the lore and story behind every little detail and coming up with theories, that’s NEVER been the purpose or focus of the Splatoon games. The story of Splatoon is intentionally designed to be vague so you can fill in the blanks yourself. It’s a puzzle that is your reward for paying attention to the subtle details.

I just think that some people who are overly critical tend to forget this? Or worse, seem to view this as some sort of oversight or flaw instead of intentional design.

At the end of the day, this is a game for kids. You’re supposed to be having FUN with it.
