More info below the cut, the context is... a lot...

Have at thee... AU art for... Big project... yes... I abandoned this in 2022, basically an almost DND style multiversal mashup where I threw 30 different universes into a pot to see what happened, these are 9 characters that were chosen to be au-ified and drawn as if they are in that mashed up world, so basically with ye olde time themes, slightly different outfits, etc.

The purpose for this multifandom AU? My own pleasure. I had awful art block back then, no friends to console in, and dream. The idea was that I would take inspiration from The Rise of Brave Tangled Dragons or whatever it was called-- and combine several different power systems, world buildings, upscale it all, flavor blast everything with head canons, and make a sort of slice of life fic with one-shots in between for me and me only to write and read between schoolwork because I was bored as hell and cocaine wasn't a feasible option. Luckily, this hit just as well as I thought it would, but I soon abandoned the project and pick it up again in October of 2023 almost exactly a year later and I made a new doc and added more franchises to the concept. Then I left it alone again and came back to it tonight during a conversation with some super cool people.

Will I elaborate further? No. It's 4 AM as I am typing this, and all shame I may have previously internalized over the course of nearly two decades is merely a concept my mind has made up to protect me from saber tooth tigers, which has misfired. Now here we are.

Design

The idea is that they are based on lemon drops/lozenges (since historically, lemon drops originate from those) and soda. Keeping the star, angel, and sea themes are also important to me, so I kept that in mind while drawing.

The lemon themes are pretty scarce… but I kept them present on the fabric covering the hips and the hair, as for the soda/water it comes in with their cloak thing fading into foam towards the ground (Which are shaped almost like a third pair of wings!).

I wanted to give them some kind of object to hold, and ultimately decided on the snake staff for is roots in medicinal things, which also ties in to the use of lozenges notably being a soothing cough medicine.

Character/Lore Details

For the lore and character I have thought of so far for them, they are like... Regina George? Very sweet, but ultimately sour when you get to know them (Attributing to the major citrus themes going on). I have this idea that they have this grandiose sense of superiority from helping others that they don't see the actual harm that they cause, , in fact they are/were a healer but every time they fix something their acidic traits end up causing more pain than intended and adding more salt to the wound, so to speak. (I love making morally/ethically dubious characters so much.)

Another Lodestar cookie redesign, this time I am keeping it! Silly little Lemon Drop Cookie but with a superiority complex and a fallen star shoved in their chest.. Joyous!!!
