Damian Wayne hates school
Maybe itâs because he grew up in the league or heâs adjusting
Or he just doesnât like being talked down to by a teacher.
What matters is he complains about it. All. The. Time.
The batfam is just about dying from how much he makes comments about it. Every kid hates school Damian is no different. He just has to get over it.
Every kid hates school it was normal for Damian to hate it.
Nothing was wrong.
Right?

Jason doesnât know why he did it.
Maybe it was because of the alcohol in his system or maybe it was his subconscious still being salty about his familyâs comments about him not having many hobbies.
He reads!
Whatâs wrong with reading!?
Sure, it was mainly about work now a days but thatâs besides the point!
Apparently it wasnât good enough to be counted as a âhobbyâ by the others.
So when he was walking back from a bar on his night off and got hit in the face with flyer about auditions for the local theater group Mixed up Manhattan he stuffed it in his pocket and said âfuck itâ.
Needless to say he was mildly confused when he woke up the next day to a call back for JD from Heathers the musical.
He was more confused when he found out his âVeronicaâ was being played by a dude.
Turns out Mixed up Manhattan was a group who did not care about gender as long as you could bring a character to life.
Now he was in too deep to back out, if he was going to act out a scene with someone. Than he was going to put his whole dick and balls into it.
It was only fair for âVeronicaâ after all.
~~~~~
Danny was slightly surprised when he went back to callbacks and saw Drunk Dude in the group.
Danny found him silly and charming in the waiting room the other night but he was clearly intoxicated when he auditioned. Danny thought that the chances of seeing him again was very slim.
But there he was, looking a little bit out of his comfort zone.
Did he even remember auditioning?
As they were called up for a scene he flashed the other a smile and felt his core loosen with the other guyâs shoulders.
Turns out, Jason had some good singing chops.
~~~~~~~~
Jason Todd lands a lead in a musical.
The musical about death and sex.
His family must never know.
The second one of them finds out his life is over again.
They will go out of there way to embarrass Jason in front of Danny and there will go the whole dark and mysterious thing he has been trying to do.

headcanon request:au where Roy harper stays a civilian as a mechanic instead of becoming Red Arrow.
Jason and Roy are sitting on the couch in their apartment, Roy is talking about the run in he has with Red Hood that day..Red Hood accidentally runs by the open bay of the shop pauses..gives an awkward wave then disappears. Jason nods his head in agreement (Red Hood panicked when he saw how good his boyfriend looked in his work clothes)..Roy looks at Jason and simply says "you'd look hot in his helmet"..Jason panics internally for a moment praying that he doesn't try to buy a replica of some sort..a few weeks pass and Jason is thinking that Roy has forgotten all about the whole Red Hood situation..then Roy comes into the apartment helmet in hand..of course..he fucking made the helmet..Roy walks over to Jason smiling like a kid in a candy shop, "c'mon baby, try it on for me yeah?" Jason panics, taking a step back from Roy, a spark of fear in his eyes "you said love me without it so why do i have to put it on for you to find me hot?"..Roy's smile fades..replaced with a little agitation..the grip on the helmet tightens.."I love you without anything.. what's the problem Jay? it's just a helmet, you ride a motorcycle for god sake...just put it on, please? just once and I'll stop asking.." Roy steps forward and pushes the helmet into Jasons chest..Jason goes still for a moment, a thin lace of anger tied in with the fear. "fine.. fine! but you can't blame me if you hate me afterwards!" Jason puts on the helmet and everything goes quiet..he straightens his posture..clenches his hands..Roy is silent for a moment...looking in shock. he's...dating Red Hood..."Jay...is it...true..?..are you really....him..?" Jason tenses...he lowers his head a little..dreading that Roy will turn away from him.."yes..I'm sorry.." Roy clenches his hands, taking a step forward..a trace of betrayal laces in with his confusion, his eyes glistening with unshed tears..."why did you think i would be angry? i don't care that you're a drug lord! i don't care that you kill people, Jason! why didn't you trust me?" Jason raises his voice, taking off his helmet and tossing it to the side..his own tears straying down his cheeks.. every emotion boils over in the small pot of his mind "because you're a liability! i can't lose you like i lost everyone else. i need you to be safe. i couldn't...i can't let you be apart of what i do, it's not safe! i need you alive!" Roy lunges at Jason, pushing them both onto the floor as Roy pounds on Jasons chest "you..fucking idiot! i trust you! i...you...fuck.." Roy slowly collapses into Jasons chest, sobbing against him. Jason holds onto him tight, his own tears dripping down his temples..moments pass..emotions are drained..passed into the wind...Jason is the first one to speak.."I'm sorry....I'm so sorry...i can't....you deserve someone who doesn't bring you trouble.." they both sit up, puffy eyes and tear stained cheeks..Roy places a hand on Jasons cheek.."i love you. you are the one i want. you are the one who makes me happy, get that into your head, Jason.." Jason leans into his hand, pressing a kiss to the heart of his palm..speaking through an emotion wrecked throat "i need you.." Roy looks at Jason with all the love and attentiveness that he thought he'd never deserve..he presses his forehead against Jasons "I'm not angry that you're Red Hood...I'm angry because you thought that I'd throw everything away just..because of this? i love you, Jaybird..." Jason looks at Roy... soft and vulnerable..just like he was a boy again..not a strong harsh man but a small...needing of love boy...Jason pulls Roy into a loving and harsh kiss, mumbling out the words "i love you too, sunshine.." its pretty safe to say that Roy in fact does not mind that he's dating Red Hood..

When the Batkids all realise Bruce is so tooth rottingly supportive of his family, they start a competition to test just how far this support goes.
Jason makes tshirts with crude sayings and even cruder drawings on them.
Bruce wears them without question.
Tim makes an app that just tells you what your nut of the day is.
Bruce uses it everyday.
The rest of the clan try it themselves and only stop when Dick hires out a theatre and preforms a one man play slash interpretive dance for all the family.
Bruce is the only one to not pull out their phone or look bored even when the performance goes into its forth hour.
After that they realise there is no ceiling. They could do anything and Bruce will be behind them 100 percent.

How nice fluff in a fandom full of angst
Roy needs to dominate the kiss because if Jason is the one dominating they wont stop for the next 3 hours. Roy's kiss is like an addictive drug for Jason and he'll always end it with his pupils dilated 80% and his mind a little out of it
Mm good soup.
Jason really can't get enough of Roy. It's bad enough that he'll cling to him every chance he gets, but when they kiss? Clear their schedule, they might be here a while.
When they first started making out, Roy didn't even realize how much time would pass. It would all just blur together in whimsical nonsense. He only realizes the time when one day, he puts a soon to be tray of cupcakes in the oven. He and Jason decide to take a little break, and they wind up on the couch. After god knows how long, the fire alarm starts going off, and Roy shoots up to see his oven on fire.
So yes, it's better for him to dominate their kisses. And if he enjoys having Jason wrapped around his finger? Well, you can't really blame him.
Jason always complains when he thinks Roy has pulled away too early, but Roy thinks it's adorable how out of it Jason looks. His eyes are always glossed over, he's pink in the face, and he always looks like he's close to collapsing right there. They'll spend the next hour or so with Jason's head shoved into his neck, because if they can't kiss, he's at least going to meld himself into Roy's side. He always feels kind of lost in his head, but he knows that Roy is safe and that he just needs to be with him.
While Roy can keep track of the time better, he still gets caught up sometimes. Once, they were late to patrol because Jason just looked extra sweet that day, and Roy couldn't find it in his heart to pull away. They were interrupted by a loud knocking sound on the window and some comment about gross affection.
Roy sets timers for them now.

The concept of Jason Todd, who makes so many good friends around Crime Alley, so they eventually start asking him to help them out in their small businesses or take their shifts are so funny to me, because imagine the sheer confusion of randomly catching him, standing in the midst of Crime Alley in a stupid bright red-yellow uniform behind the street vendor cart, screaming "Hot dogs! Fresh out of oven!"â
Tim, during the patrol, landing to grab a food: Hi, can I haveâ
Jason, pale: ...
Tim: You said you are out to help a friend
Jason, through gritted teeth: Yes. I am.
Tim, trying not to choke on his laughter: Well. Uh. Ahahah, SORRY, THIS IS HILARIOUS
Jason, irritated: Of course you would find it hilarious, rich boy
Next week, in the early morning, Bruce pauses before ending his patrol to help some teacher with a line of kindergarten kids to cross the busy road, and it is only when they are in the middle of the street that Bruce realises that the teacher is... his son?!
Batman: Jâ Lad?
Jason, holding the colourful rope that all kids hold on to, so they all would follow him, as ducks, in the bucket hat and with a name tag hanging on his neck: ...I cannot curse when I work with kids, I cannotâ
Batman: ...What are you doing here?
Jason: Can you please, PLEASE, kindly f... fridge off my way, sir?
Batman: ...
Kids, in awe: Nanny Jay is so cool. He is not even afraid of big Bat!
Jason, in the verge of tears: Just go.
Batman: Have a nice, uh, day?
Batman, minutes later: O? Had you made screenshots of this encounter? I need to put it in the frame. He looked so cute.

Jayroy fic recs because on occasion I can be normal about them :D
As I Burn Another Page by essidera (series, 75,886 words, unfinished)
https://archiveofourown.org/series/2249757
So much angst you could cut it with a knife. A delightful look at Jason and his trauma surrounded by oodles of hurt/comfort.
You're Gonna Go Far, Kid by thegreatestsun(T, 73,389 words, finished)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23818153/chapters/57228667
I don't know Lian in canon; this is canon to me. Lian doesn't know her dads are 1) dating and 2) vigilantes. Both of these come to light and Lian has to deal with that.
And everyone things I dodged a bullet, but I think I shot the gun by Daisyapples (T, 15,130, finished)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/56647105
No-Arsenal AU, but Jason is still Red Hood. Everything is soft and delightful (Roy also gets kidnapped but he's fine everything is fine)
Jane Austen Never Said Anything About Speed Dating by Jason_Todd_Bookseller (T, 36,673 words, unfinished)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/33359026/chapters/82850050
Fake dating rom-com AU. Roy starts dating Jason to get their families off their backs, and there's a lot of revelations and healing from Jason's previous romantic relationship. This fic is disgustingly cute.
Things My Heart Used to Know by poisonivory (T, 37,488 words, finished)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/25561081/chapters/62027743
Inspired by Anastasia (lol). Roy finds an amnesiac "Jay" and decides to con Bruce Wayne for the reward money of finding Jason Todd-Wayne...except that Jay remembers things that Roy never told him.
(additional shoutout to poisonivory because they have a ton of really great jayroy stuff!)
While You Were Missing by caffeinatedbasil (T, 85,629 words, finished)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/52862479/chapters/133712791
I will never be normal about this fic. It's my absolute favorite jayroy fic. DCxWC, but the crossover is seamless. Featuring single dad!Jason, the wonder that is Jade Nguyen, and delicious platonic/familial relationships all around (not to mention the pining! the yearning...).

In Your Pocket
Summary:Jason Todd moved as far away from his family as he could, desperate to forget a past that haunts him. He has no idea why he answers the text, itâs just a wrong number. The decision changes his life.
Pairing: Jason Todd/Roy Harper
Jason Todd was studying in the Star City Campus Library before his early morning class. The building was a seven level modernist structure; it looked like someone had taken a cement rectangle and twisted it with a palm to click and clatter along the change in elevation. It was nearly dawn, the sun groaning and stretching to poke a warm glow along the horizon. Its exterior, an intricate layer of wood, stone, cement, and glass, matched the feel of the small curated forest trundling up the side of the mountain. The University itself sat on the East side of the highway that cut Star City in half. Campus was cupped in a small valley between the lolling foothills. The large mountain range crested higher to the north, a smokey smear of white caps herding the low hanging clouds to bumble and bump into a thickening gray, corralled between the bay and the stone.
He was as far from Gotham as heâd been able to go.
A small cafe off the front entrance opened early to serve coffee to students. The line wasnât long, the coffee wasnât great, and the service was slow. Sleepy co-eds wandered the carpeted stairs that sprung from different sides of the vast space. There were bubbles of quiet study and sections of sleek computers that required a student login to access. Jason had found an old card catalogue one day with a noise of delight and taken to brushing his fingers over the foxed edges of the cards on his way to the study table he preferred.
It was early and Jason was usually alone, but today a group of nursing students were working through an anatomy text, an unseemly amount of snacks, two half-full Mountain Dew 2-liters, and clear exhaustion at the large round table between the sharp corner made entirely of windows. Jason took up another smaller table: laptop, books, and his own breadth pouring over the short story assignment due at the beginning of his morning class. Out the window, the students were either coming back to the dorms to finally sleep after a night partying or stumbling half awake towards an early morning class.
đ± unknown number: dude did u ever find that chicken because I told D that I would watch it đ± unknown number: after last nights concussion saga I have vague memories of maybe throwing it out a window đ± unknown number: which makes no sense cuz we were on the first floor right đ± unknown number: were u wearing oven mitts chasing it down the street đ± unknown number: consider this me calling you a weenie đ± unknown number: yes i said weenie there are children here đ± unknown number: who the fuck is scared of being pecked by a chicken at 3am đ± unknown number: weenie
Jason turned his phone over when it started rattling in a quick circle on the table in front of him, frowning at the unknown number with a Star City area code. He gave a quick grimacing smile of apology to the pretty round-faced girl with wide dark eyes that lifted her head to glare at him from behind a pile of anatomy texts and neat flashcards at the loud clatter. He snatched it up before it started rattling again letting the face recognition slip through two failed attempts before just thumbing the passcode and frowning at the notes. âThe fuck?â keep reading on AO3

Your posts always make me cry???
Jason, who is constantly making death jokes, and gets back a "dgaf" kind of answers from his siblings. Which he is... used to. Firstly, because it is what siblings supposed to do, be mean to each other, and secondly, because... they are not wrong. His death didn't mean anything. No one cared much about him dying. Yes, they were bothered that he died - a kid, a son and a brother, had died. Everyone mourns dead kids, he wasn't special. Right?
So, he is fine with whatever he gets from his brothers. He often laughs back, even his laughter sounds far too strained to his ears. But, honestly, whatever! It is fine!
Until once, it isn't.
Maybe it is just a bad day. Or maybe his death anniversary is getting closer, and he gets more anxious. Nonetheless, he makes another joke - something about warehouses and crowbars; so, nothing new - and gets a usual funny-snappy reply back, something along the lines And no one cared. And he just huffs, his smile turning to a scowl, and before he can take it back, he shrugs.
'I know.'
Suddenly, it is too quiet in the room. And suddenly everyone is staring - confused, hurt, slightly surprised, even. Jason tries to laugh it off, to make them stop looking at him with so much pity, but his forced laughter sounds too much like a certain clown's in his insane, tired mind, and he ends up murmuring a haste farewell, before practically running away from the cave.
He thinks someone tries to call him back, but he ignores it.
The defeating silence and the looks of pity haunt him in his dreams for the rest of the night.
