meritoriousenforcer (Offiser.):
A PART OF HIM HAD EXPECTED WORSE, somehow. Shoulders pulled back and form going just a tad rigid– Stefan did his best to conceal most of that as the other had shot him that look before bringing himself up. Offending the man with that well intended ‘inquiry’ was but inevitable, really. Not with how things were going. Not when he wasn’t the sort to just stand by and blindly follow orders.
And yet, that option had remained there the whole time. He could have very well kept his mouth shut. Could have kept things simpler for himself. So much simpler. Especially when working alongside someone like this. THE SWEDE- no pun intended, was nothing but the calculating sort. Not a fella one would have wanted to sit down at the bar with after a hard day’s work, that’s for sure. And yet, here he was, sitting right across from him as he had his meal for the day.
Tumblr media
“… Of course, sir. That’s all there is to it, isn’t it?”
Tumblr media
     “Mm.”
Agreement. He wasn't a fan of repeating himself—not that he wouldn't if      he needed to get his point across, but politeness and patience would      slowly be pulled from his tone as he did so. That was all there was to it.
The tenseness of the man in front of him wasn't lost on Gundersen as he      placed his plate down at the bar, his gaze moving around the saloon      somewhat before he made his way back to the seat he was in previously.      It wasn't rare for him to sit down to have dinner with some of his men,      though he often left once the drinking started, but Stefan didn't seem to be      headed in that direction. He was smart, there was something admirable      about his resilience and tendency to not just blindly follow—it was just      that it was becoming a hindrance to his goals.
There was no point in trying to lead men who wouldn't take orders. The      questions had to stop eventually.
“Yes, that is all there is to it,” he said, sounding a little absentminded as he      sighed, the expression on his face tightening as he continued, bitterness      starting to bite into his tone. “I don't know how this...weasel keeps escaping,      but he does...He is a criminal, he has some power now but that doesn't      change what he done. I'm still gonna hang him like I intended, but it is not      so simple anymore.”

How does your character treat people in service jobs?
Character Development “Hard Mode” Meme || still accepting!
@difortezza
Not badlybut not good, either, if that makes sense.
For the most part,he would leave them alone unless he needed something or if they weregetting in the way of something, but he doesn’t go out of his way tobe all that nice to them either. He’s formally friendly, I guess, andusually won’t have much to say if they are doing a good job. Now,that’s towards people who aren’t under his direct employment. Hisbehavior toward those that are, however, is a little different.
As long as you’redoing what you’re told and not failing at your duties at every turn,he’ll most likely have no issue and will remain pretty civil. You’dbe working toward the same goals, basically. However, he does growfrustrated and snippy (if not violent at some points) towards peoplewho don’t do what he says or questions him at every turn, somethingthat carries on throughout his main verses, as much as he comes tonot be in charge of much.
So, all in all, ifyou’re not being a thorn in his side, his treatment is prettyindifferent.

The look he leveledhim with was even, his expression      impassive.
Where was hegoing with this? The answer seemed simple      enough, andStefan seemed be one of the more rational      men in his service.Gundersen figured he would have settled      on an answer to that himself. So, the growing irritation at      being questioned made sense in hismind, his fork resting      down on the empty plate as he stood. He had figured it best      to ignore how accusatory the question was in the first place.      For now.

BELOW THE SURFACE EVERYONE IS PRETTY COMPLICATED. BASED ON YOUR ANSWERS, WE THINK THE FOLLOWING THREE TRAITS ARE IMPORTANT STRANDS IN YOUR PERSONALITY
tagged by: Nobody, I stole it.
tagging: Anybody who wants to do this.
Tumblr media
RATIONALITY
You like clarity and intelligent simplicity and you get frustrated at messy thinking. This can make you seem unreasonably pushy to some, but it is actually a virtue: you are motivated by a horror at pointless effort and a longing for precision and insight into how things and people work. Your ability to synthesise and bring order is essential in producing thinking which is truly helpful.
AGGRESSION
One part of your character is anger in all its forms: frustration, outrage – and when anger is suppressed – bitterness, grumpiness, and bodily aches. Fundamentally, frustration comes from hope: you get upset because you expect your life will be more than a valley of tears. One way to deny aggression is to direct it inwards, as self-criticism. But you’re at your best when you acknowledge anger, and act it out clearly and in a focused way, with honor.
ORDERLINESS
You love it when everything is neat and tidy: when there is a proper way of doing things, and you can tick things off the to-do list and know where everything is. So others, at times, are to you unbearably sloppy and messy. And you run into things that can’t be ordered (a child, a partner, a colleague at work) which drives you slightly nuts. But your desire for order is a good one when it is focused where it is needed and when you’re okay with a bit of mess.

Mun name: Maddie OOC Contact: Tumblr IMs and Skype, pretty much.
Tagged by: Nobody, I stole this from somewhere as I usually do with these things. Lol
Who the heck is my muse anyway:
Swede/Thor, despite the nickname, is a Norwegian foreigner that fought in the civil war on the Union side as a quartermaster before he became a prisoner of war. After the war he is hired by Durant to come work with the railroad after the murder of a foreman as the chief of security and basically becomes obsessed with the show's main character, Cullen, after he fails to bring him to justice since he believes him to be the man who murdered the foreman. He becomes pretty unhinged and unpredictable from that point on, especially after being run out of town and losing his position of power, and becomes the show's most reoccurring villain.
Points of interest:
He's a pretty stoic character and can come across as pretty intimidating to some, which he may take advantage of if he notices. He tends to carry himself with a rather stiff posture, hands behind his back and standing to his full height (unless he's forced to slouch for whatever reason), and tends to stare or keep eye contact when addressing people. However, that doesn't mean he can't be somewhat friendly to certain people and can come across as a little quirky from time to time (usually unintentional on his part).
His accent and way of speaking, along with his mannerisms, tend to cause him to stick out. Yet, his English is excellent with some minor errors in phrases and tenses, usually. Though, he will speak to himself or certain people in Norwegian, regardless if they understand him or not. Yet, he may translate if it was a genuine mistake on his part or if he feels the need to. Though, despite his nickname that was given to him by the townsfolk, he is not Swedish and any questions or remarks about him being Swedish or Sweden usually results in correction, irritation, and/or downright anger sometimes.
He is a pretty vindictive character, sometimes petty, and is prone to hold a grudge. If he feels he is getting nothing out of a relationship (business or otherwise), he won't continue to be in it and if he can't leave on his own regard, he may attempt to manipulate others so he can get the best out of it. He can be somewhat greedy and power hungry as well, enjoying being the one in control.
Ultimately, he is a pretty unstable character to stake your alliance with, not that he can't be loyal people who benefit him. As the years go on, he grows to be pretty unstable mentally and can be a dangerous person to be around, especially if you have something to hold above him or against him.
What they’ve been up to recently:
Trying to prove Cullen's guiltiness, railroad business, collecting payment from the establishments under his “care”. Later on he's mostly just trying to get his vengeance against Cullen, tbh.
Where to find them:
Main verse: Anywhere in H.ell on Wheels, tbh. His train car, checking in on establishments for payment, wandering around town sometimes. He could be out in the wilderness with his men as well if there's reason to be out there.
Secondary verse: Mormon fort, though it can be difficult to get into that one. Other than that, he's working for the railroad once again later on, so you can find him in town from time to time with his dog and cart.
There's also a period of travel for him, too, so you could run into him between towns from time to time as well.
Current plans:
Aside from making Cullen's life hell or disrupting his plans? Not much else. Swede's a very adaptable guy, he'll play whatever role he needs to get where he believes he needs to be.
Desired interactions:
Any sort of interaction with a canon from the show, especially a Cullen, would be golden. Though, I can't force people to make blogs. Lol Honestly, I'm really open with interactions and I'm currently taking anything tbh.
A sort of bounty hunter/outlaw thing could be interesting to play around with, especially in the main verse.
Some interactions during his time in season 2 as the undertaker, ect, would be interesting too. Especially someone who can kind of pick him apart or push him around a little bit.
Offered interactions:
If you have the money or he views you to be important enough, he could be hired for protection. However, I can't promise loyalty if he views his time to be wasted or his services abused.
You want him sniffing around your outlaw character? That can be arranged. I mean, if your character is doing odd things or hanging around places that they shouldn't, that'll probably happen anyway. He could hang them, too, if you wanted. You want your character to get caught and not get hung? That could be arranged, too.
He could straight up murder your character, too, if you want. Give him a reason (position of power, be a constant obstacle, ect) and that can be discussed.
Awkward banter is always offered.
Secondary verse, railroad work could be worked with as a way of getting him to interact with your character. He also spends half a season impersonating a Mormon bishop, so that could be worked with as well.
I'm honestly pretty flexible. If you have an idea, I'm usually pretty open to try it out or work with it to fit a verse in some way.
Current open post/s:
None. Though, I've been thinking about throwing some out from time to time.
Anything else?:
I don't bite. If anything catches your eye on this, don't be scared to come discuss it with me.
Tagging: Anybody who wants to do this. I'm not big on tagging.

It has been said that a virtue is a mean between two extremes. However, this mean is difficult to accomplish because no one is perfect, especially not our muses — show us their bad side. Bold the extreme of each virtue your muse is more prone to. Take in even the slightest preference or tendency. Bonus: put a * after each pair of traits that has changed sides during their life. Feel free to tell about it in the tags as well.
