Sam’s team in Doomsday is called The Avengers.

They’re not called “Sam’s team”, they’re called The Avengers.

They’re The Avengers. Lead by Sam Wilson’s Captain America, with Joaquín Torres’ Falcon as his right hand.

Hope this helps some horrible articles and graphics I’ve seen calling them “Sam’s team” or “the unnamed team”. They’re the Avengers. No amount of denial is going to change that canon fact.

The regular super soldier serum as given to Bucky, as given to Steve, as given to John, as given to Alexei, as given to Isaiah, would not give Sam ANYTHING of value.

It would not add to Sam’s journey and just place him in an already busy pool of characters with the exact same power template.

I have no idea why we are still acting as if it would be the best idea for his character right now.

IF and really, IF Sam had to gain any kind of abilities you would either need to go similar to the comics or something entirely different that IS VERY MUCH NOT super soldier adjacent in anyway.

The How and Why would also be important to make sure it still aligns with the character’s journey.

That said, I do not think the MCU would go that route… not with the Sam I know anyway. They had occasions to make it happen and went “nope”. Things can change, they change all the time so maybe they’ll change route if they believe that it could raise Sam’s character status for the audience but in that case, who knows how the general public would react?

As long as the message can’t be turned into “The Black Man wasn’t enough, therefore let’s give him powers”

While I'm on the subject of the cap mantle sam was captain america twice. The first time was when some right wing ppl were using steve as like a poster boy for his image and he fought against it. Eventually there was a violent protest and steve got hurt and "died" and sam decided to become cap to clear his name. That's where we get this quote:

The next time sam became cap (the one that's most well known) it was when steve lost the super serum. There was a bomb headed straight to new york and sam flew up there and stopped it. He then fell to the ground and everyone thought he was dead but he was fine bc he has vibranium wings (shoutout to tchalla). And this is where we get this panel:

So yeah. Sam was cap twice and the 2nd time steve had no hesitations with choosing him.
