Heyyo just a random suggestion that you can take into account (or not)
I know TSE is canon to this, albeit a very doctored version, but I would love for some elements of TSE to stay (I assume in this FNaF 1 era establishment?)
If so, I was thinking that for the empty spot between the booths and ding area I mentioned awhile back, you could add a carousel!
Not only was it mentioned in TSE but I think that was the idea behind the carnival music in FNaF 1.
I don’t know how I missed receiving this ask, but great idea! =)

Regarding the fact that the animatronics are performed life as opposed to a showtape for FNaF 1, how does that work for the performing logistics?
Does Fazbear have a specific VA for each animatronic? Or is it a case of random employees attempting to sound like the characters in the same vein as those obscure Family Album animatronics from the PTT days?
Because Freddy Fazbear’s isn’t a restaurant chain in this continuity, they have the same voice actors operating the animatronics every show (the only time the shows are pre-recorded are when they need to take the time to write new ones).
I might have said this on the stream, but the initial purpose of having the shows performed live from backstage was to create the illusion of artificial intelligence within the animatronics (similar to how the spring-lock mechanism was made to fake the walking). I imagine that Afton Robotics had attempted to create artificial intelligence, but to no avail; they were limited by the technology of their time, and people enjoyed the entertainers anyway.
As for the entertainers themselves, they brought a certain charm to the show, which is ultimately the true reason why Freddy Fazbear’s was so popular in the first place. It was the characters and their zany personalities. The employees pouring their heart into every show. Sure, sometimes the higher ups would make everyone’s jobs harder than they needed to be, but no one truly hated working at Freddy’s.
All this to say that the shows at Freddy’s had a lot of heart put into them, even towards closing.

Hi, I watched the vod of your ILM Q&A/Birthday Stream but not when it was live, ergo I couldn't comment on some things, so I'll comment them here.
The map looks great but I feel that there are a dew things missing, it feels like there's even less variety of Arcade Machines than the map in the film (which Ik the map is inspired by), not too mention there seems to be a large space between the Booths and Dining Area that feels like it can be filled in the same vein as the Salad Bar filling between the Dining Area and Kitchen.
I wonder if you can adress these.
That being said, great job so far on ILM, can't wait to see more!
The map is still not finished, so many of the things that are missing will eventually be added. Just since the stream, I’ve made a lot of additions to the map that I really enjoy. Didn’t realize how much the West Hall was missing until I added all this:
Tumblr media
(The Employees of the Month board is supposed to have pictures, but I haven’t made them yet.)
There are supposed to be more games in the arcade. I might even have some custom arcade machines made as well, and there will overall be more props to cover more ground (especially some props between the window booths and the tables).
As for the salad bar,
Anyway, thanks for the suggestions! The map is still VERY WIP, so I have all of these in mind! Feel free to suggest anything else you feel could add to the layout!

There’s so much to say about In Loving Memory that I really wanna share with y’all, but I don’t know if I want to share it through really cryptic messages or activate The Tism™

While the FNAF 1 designs are gonna remain mostly the same between the games and In Loving Memory (mostly because they’re iconic and I like them the best), I consider literally every other design free game. ;)

I probably won’t be finishing this guy until production on Volume 2 starts, but this sets up the general idea of what I want for the “Toy” animatronics.

Noticed in a ask on your previous au talking about the vengeful spirit being Michael Brooks, so it got me a bit curious.
Is Mike still the vengeful spirit here? Is Cassidy? You can be sorta ambiguous if it's spoilers.
Michael Brooks is the spirit within Golden Freddy, but they’re all kind of “vengeful spirits”.
I know I just announced that I have the whole narrative planned out, but I’m still struggling to figure out how Michael Brooks fits into it all. :P

Last night, I finally came up with the piece of lore that ties Volume 2 together with the rest of the series, and now I basically have the whole narrative planned.
Stay tuned! =)

Finally! Now to ask some questions.
Something I noticed about the animatronics is that they're labeled comedians specifically, now I'm not sure if this has any significance or is it just another euphemism for performer or entertainer?
It’s actually based on how the shows are run in this iteration of Freddy’s.
There are live performers backstage that control the animatronics and speak through them. This allows them to make shows in real time for a more authentic experience, to which they crack jokes more often than they sing.
They do sing songs, but their gig veers more on the side of comedian than singer.
I hope that makes sense. XD

Letting you guys know that there will be some continuity errors in the Counselor scene when Volume 1 releases.
I already announced on YouTube that there will be some dialogue changes to make it feel less like forced exposition, but as of a few minutes ago, I made an additional change.
The date of the Counselor scene has been changed from April 6, 1991 to November 7, 1993.

The In Loving Memory Ask Box is now open!
——————————————
An introduction to In Loving Memory:
Struggling to support his little sister, 25 year-old Mike Schmidt finds a high turnover job at a mascot entertainment venue called Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, a dying animatronic restaurant whose reputation is dangling by a thread. It seems like easy pay: just watch the robot comedians from 12 to 6 and walk out the next morning. Little does Mike know that strange things are happening at Freddy’s, and the cuddly critters beloved by kids and grown-ups alike hold a dark secret in this place where fantasy and fun come to life…
In Loving Memory is an analog horror series created by Roux36 Productions set in the Five Nights at Freddy’s IP that aims to retell the story of the first four games in a different light. The series will be reintroducing the viewer to familiar concepts as though experiencing them for the first time.
——————————————
What asks will I answer?(Examples provided)
Lore (Ex: How do the spirits work?)
World-Building (Ex: Who made the pizza recipes at Freddy’s)
Headcanons (Ex: What is Mike's favorite animal fact?)
NOTE: There will be many questions I will not be answering, as this series is in active production, and so there’s a lot to be spoiled. Although it is the story of the first four games, there has been a lot added to it to make it flow more like a narrative, which is where it starts getting spoiler-y.

How much thought did you put into this?
It’s not that I’m a massive nerd, but it’s just that I’m actually a massive nerd.
Animatronics are loosely grounded in real-world mechanical engineering, giving them plausible designs for them to have existed in the 1980’s (down to the very components that make them function.)
The restaurant itself has regulations and procedures to manage the animatronics during the day (this varies depending on the restaurant).
The restaurant layouts themselves have been redesigned to be more coherent with the rules of architecture.
The animatronic characters themselves have their own lore and personalities within the cartoon world.
I have a full list of employees who worked at Fazbear Entertainment.
The rules of the spirits are grounded in real-world cultural beliefs, as well as typical ghost hunting traditions.
No character is written to be two-dimensional. The characters don’t just do stuff for the plot; they do them because it’s in-character for them to do so. In other words, be prepared for emotional trauma. :)
———————————————
What IS canon?
Basic media taken into consideration:
Five Nights at Freddy’s
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2
Five Nights at Freddy’s 3
Five Nights at Freddy’s 4
FNAF World (undecided)
Five Nights at Freddy's: The Silver Eyes
Details and some characters taken from:
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location
Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria Simulator
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Security Breach
Five Nights at Freddy's: The Movie
Five Nights at Freddy’s: The Week Before
The only reliable source of information regarding the canon plot of In Loving Memory is the first four games, which I have made a considerable effort to put a spin on every single detail. However, certain details and plots are pulled from future games in order to make a more coherent plot. Other details are custom from the writer or, under rare circumstances, changed from the game lore.
It’s also worth noting that some characters (mainly the movie characters) have been given different names to differentiate their characters from Scott’s canons.
——————————————
How will the story be presented?
The main narrative is the analog horror series, and will have a strong focus on Mike Schmidt. However, there will also be some side stories that let other characters have the spotlight, explore different aspects of the lore, or present certain characters in different formats. Some future content to expect include:
Prelude to Volume 1 (Novelization) - COMING SOON
The Whiterabbit Fallacy (Novelization)
In Loving Memory: Nightfall (Game)
Freddy & Friends (UNDETERMINED)
Short comics (UNDETERMINED)
——————————————
Thank you!
If you made it to the end, I wanna thank you for showing interest in this AU! I’ve been working on it ever since I was 11 years old, back when it was still called Freddy & Friends. It’s been a long road with at least five rewrites and twice as many redesigns!
The askbox is now open! There is much to tell, so ask away!

Is In Loving Memory related to Freddy & Friends?
I've actually been getting asked this question a lot ever since I announced the In Loving Memory series. I wasn't going to say anything until Volume 1 released to keep it a surprise, but I'm now coming to the realization that might not be the greatest idea. So instead of keeping this question in the dark until the entirety of Volume 1 is finished, I'm gonna provide clarification on the subject now:
They're not just related. In Loving Memory IS the new Freddy & Friends.
--------------------------------------
Click "Keep reading" for the full details, and what's gonna happen to the Freddy & Friends Tumblr.
--------------------------------------
However, they USED to be two separate AUs...
When I was first creating the idea for In Loving Memory, I made the decision to cross over the Freddy & Friends lore into it in order to make the worldbuilding easier on myself. The functionality of the animatronics, the functions of the pizzeria, among other things. The only things that were really different were the characters and overarching story.
But as I kept on writing it, I realized that doing both In Loving Memory and Freddy & Friends would be really confusing with so much overlapping lore. It would be pointless to do both, since what I planned to release video-wise for F&F wasn't too different from what I wanted to do with ILM.
Additionally, I've been working on Freddy & Friends since I was 11 years-old. The idea of that AU is almost ten years old. And ever since then, the story has gone through many, many, MANY changes. But with all the things that I wanted to incorporate (one such complication being Sister Location existing on the timeline), there were only so many stories I could tell without the timeline becoming crowded. Frankly, the whole thing was quite the cluster-fuck with so many plot holes and character motives that I just couldn't make sense of. Too many hard questions for the writer (me) to find an answer to. Ultimately, what I had feared came to pass: I had done the same thing that Scott did, just with better writing and just as much confusion.
When I started on ILM, I realized that I liked that story MUCH better.
It has a distinct beginning, middle, and end. Without the plot of the games past FNAF 4, it was a much simpler story with better characterization and a clearer plot. And, unlike F&F, I had a clear direction with how I wanted to present it.
And so, with a heavy heart, I reworked F&F into the new AU that I was making. Afterwards, I was led into calling it "In Loving Memory", named after the title sequence theme I had composed for F&F. ;)
The Freddy & Friends label isn't dead, however. Freddy & Friends is canonically a side story that happens within the In Loving Memory AU, and will have more of a focus on the spirits of the children within the animatronics, as opposed to the rest of the series, which is focused on Mike. As of right now, I'm not sure what format that story would be told in. I just know that the events themselves are canon.
So essentially, yes. Freddy & Friends as it once was is technically cancelled. However, I don't like to think about it like that. I like to think that, after almost a decade of residing in my head, we are FINALLY working on the first episode of Freddy & Friends.
Only now, it's going under a different tile. =)
But wait, what's gonna happen to the Freddy & Friends Tumblr?
In all likelihood, I'm going to archive it. I feel like I've released too much content on there and allowed people to delve too deep into that story to simply convert it into the ILM Tumblr.
However, best case scenario, I'm going to rebrand it under a label called Freddy & Friends: Legacy, which is an archive of all the scrapped and unused content of the F&F AU prior to the current draft. There, I can stop being so secretive about its story and lore and give y'all the whole scoop of what I had originally intended. =)
As for the In Loving Memory Tumblr, I'm not sure how much I'm going to carry over. I'm not sure if I'll still have Henry answer questions over on there (I'm characterizing him a little differently). I also styled the original Tumblr to act as a forum that would have existed in the real world. That doesn't really feel right to carry over into In Loving Memory as a Tumblr page, but if you guys really want it, I can probably work something out along those lines.
I hope this clears up any confusion you had on where the series stands
