Moana
It should probably come as a surprise to nobody that her studies are leaning towards marine biology.
Or that she’s a member of the swim team. Coach Maui’s a buddy of hers.
Likes to go on kayaking and canoeing trips.
The only student who loves the ocean more than her is Ariel, who’s one of her best friends.
She has a pet pig named Pua a potted fern that she calls Leroy.
Not too surprisingly, she can’t stand the cold. If the outside temperature drops to 68 Fahrenheit or lower she bundles up. She spends most of winter curled up indoors near a space heater, drinking hot tea, wearing two pairs of socks and a thick sweater, muttering “Dear God it’s freezing.”
Rooms with Mulan, who’s usually the voice of reason when a Marvel film threatens to keep them up too late.
Visits the beach at least once a month “For my health.”
She isn’t sure whether to root for Ariel staying with Eric, or ending up with Jim. Ultimately, she just wants what’s best for all three. At least Eric is a genuinely great person who treasures Ariel, and Jim’s not a resentful Nice Guy.
Due to her dad’s phobia of water, she had to teach herself how to swim basically. At age seven she tried to hide a case of swimmer’s ear that grew into a bad infection and, she insists, almost left her deaf in one ear (others are a little skeptical that it would’ve lead to that).
She can hold a grudge sometimes.
She’s given Merida a lot of hair care and styling tips.
Captain Marvel is her favorite movie.
She’s kind of sick of coconut, except in small amounts in candies and desserts. Red velvet’s more her speed.
Her favorite dish is seaweed salad. She drinks boba tea at least once a week.
Right after swimming season was over her first year, she got a tattoo of a red ginger flower on her right side (she waited that long so it wouldn’t get irritated by chlorine).
Like a lot of students she considered joining the Auto Club but was talked out of it by the Vice President of said club.
She likes to make AMVs for Youtube.
Her favorite animals are turtles and sharks.

Wendy Darling from Peter Pan for headcannons?
I didn’t originally have her in the cast because the cutoff was characters who were either in their teens or early twenties in their original movies, and she’s a year too young to fit that category, but I’ll bend the rules a little.
She’s a cousin of Cinderella. The two end up growing close while attending DU together.
She currently majors in Child Development and Psychology.
She plans to write a children’s book someday, about a boy who never grows up (Rapunzel’s offered to do the illustrations).
Her favorite color’s blue.
She, Cindy, and Tiana are contenders for Ultimate Mom Friend.
She’s what you might call a pragmatic dreamer.
In addition to her majors, she loves to study and read about the Romanovs and Queen Victoria. She even has a blog about important women in 19th century Europe.
She can be a little passive-aggressive when angry. Don’t think you can step all over her.
She has a tiny little crush on her childhood friend, Peter. But she doesn’t let him use her as a doormat.
She’s got a reputation of being a teacher’s pet and goody two shoes. But while she is respectful to all the faculty whenever she’s in their presence, she’s pretty vocal about her dislike and disapproval (she calls Professor De Vill ‘Lady Macbeth’).
Her favorite movie is The Last Unicorn.

Carl Fredricksen headcanons?
I was hoping someone would ask...
He’s been with DU for about 35 years now, or as he’d say “Too long.”
He teaches the geography units.
He’s earned the respect and affection of all the students, and most of the other faculty members. Anybody who’d stay this long, well past retiring age, deserves it.
When Professor Milo Thatch started out, Carl became a kind of mentor to the younger teacher, giving him support and advice to dealing with college students and less obliging coworkers.
Professor Ratcliffe once called him an old windbag. To which Carl replied “At least I’m in good company.”
He’ll sometimes bring Russell along on days he doesn’t have classes. At least, he did, until the time he lost him on campus and found him later in the Ag department’s greenhouse watering some of the plants. “They looked thirsty.” (He didn’t even know he was lost).
He also no longer brings Dug on campus.
Once he told the students about his late wife. How they met, the history behind their house, their plans, etc. There was not a dry eye in the audience.
He gets a card from each student on his and Ellie’s anniversary (how they found out the date, he has no clue).
His favorite film is Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.
He’s usually the voice of reason among the other teachers, Because heaven knows they need one.
He has a harmonica in his office. To date, nobody’s seen him play it. Some students theorize that Ellie’s ghost uses it to communicate with him.
Ariel plans to name her oldest daughter ‘Ellie’ in honor of his wife.
He claims to be out of touch with the young crowd. Don’t you believe him. In spite of a fifty-five year age difference (give or take) he understands his students quite well.
In other words: yes, he sympathizes with your heavy workload and sleep deprivation. No, he won’t accept the assignment a week late. Sorry, that’s how it is.

Merida?
The Dunbroch’s moved to the States a few months before Merida enrolled, due to Elinor and Fergus’ work. The triplets have acclimated the fastest, being so young and all.
She picked Disney University over all the other more prestigious American colleges because it was the first school that didn’t see itself as God’s gift to academia.
At the beginning of her first semester, a lot of people had trouble understanding her with her accent and kept asking her to repeat herself, which she found incredibly frustrating.
After a while, they learned how to understand her better.
There’s a lot of... shall we say, friction... between her and the militantly Anglophile Professor Ratcliffe. Heated debates about historical events most of the other students never heard of have become commonplace.
She streams the Highland Games every Braemar Gathering.
She hasn’t settled on a major yet. But she’s taken a huge interest in American history. Particularly the American Revolution.
Once, she roped Rapunzel into helping her straighten her hair, just to see what it looked like. It took about two hours before they decided it was good enough and their arms threatened to fall off. Just as well, she decided the look didn’t suit her anyway.
She actually can’t stand haggis.
She’s tried, with mixed success, to start an archery club at the school.
She’s currently the only female member of DU’s rugby team. And she’s made more than a few opposing teams cry for their mums.
Her best friends at the school are Mulan and Audrey, being fellow tomboys and kindred spirits in many ways.
She’s got an old, worn out teddy bear she keeps hidden most of the time.
She rooms with Snow white, who she likes well enough but thinks is a bit daft.
Her favorite book, not surprisingly, is Macbeth. She got to play Lady Macbeth when the Drama club acted it out (Kristoff was Macbeth).
Her favorite film is NOT Braveheart, like you’d assume. It’s the first Thor movie.
She tried reading the Outlander series, on Belle’s recommendation. It was a little too sappy for her taste.

Kristoff and Eugene headcanons, please!
Let’s start with Kristoff:
Lost his parents at a young age and was adopted.
Sven is his extremely large dog that he found as a puppy shortly before his adoption. He’s a mutt with some definite Irish wolfhound features.
Originally his “Conversations” with Sven alarmed a few people. Not so much anymore, since he since proven himself one of the sanest people on campus.
Kristoff is also a member of the rugby team. Sven is the unofficial mascot.
Pretty much every game, Anna will be in the stands cheering her BF and his teammates on loudly enough to be heard above the rest of the audience.
He didn’t initially intend to befriend Eugene, it just sort of happened. Partly because their girlfriends are bff’s.
With all their shenanigans, he thinks it’s only a matter of time before he gets an ulcer.
He makes up one quarter of the school’s Auto Club. And thanks to that time he got oil stains on the campus library’s new carpet, he’s one of the main reasons the club’s well over their intended budget.
His roommate’s Naveen, who he thinks is kind of poncy, but decent. The first thing he said to Tiana after learning she was dating the guy was “You have my deepest sympathy.”
His survival skills are legendary. If you dropped him in the middle of the Rockies with nothing but the clothes on his back, within hours he’d have a lean-to, a fire, a net, and a fish cooking over said fire.
He loves to go camping and hiking, which gradually rubbed off on Anna and most of their friends.
Because of his large and extremely physically affectionate family, he sometimes has trouble with boundaries and personal space (Jim in particular has trouble with this).
Eugene and Aladdin tried to prank him once. ONCE.
He’s majoring in Biology, and plans to work as a forest ranger. He knows just about anything you could wish to know (and then some) about North American wildlife (he helped Elsa fix up the tank for her salamander).
He was one of the people in the classroom during the Green Boom (see Rapunzel’s headcanon).
He’s pretty good at sewing. He does a lot of mending to his own clothes. Naveen looked genuinely confused when he offered to fix his clothes. “Why? It’s much less time and effort to buy new ones. Why are you looking at me like that?”
They once got arrested. Don’t ask.
Eugene:
Has earned the ire of at least half the teachers on campus.
He and Aladdin are both vying for the position of Prank King.
The two are pretty good friends from their similar backgrounds. Like Al, Eugene lost his parents and stayed in the foster care system throughout his minority. Also like Al, he’s got a bit of a criminal record for theft and trespassing.
HE’s been on the straight and narrow (more or less) since he met Rapunzel.
He plans out huge celebrations for Rapunzel’s birthdays. They’re casual and fun without being crazy.
For his first few days in DU, he went by Flynn Rider just to see how long people would fall for it.
He once took a painting class just so he and Rapunzel would have something else to bond over. It didn’t work out the way he hoped.
He still calls Pascal a frog, just to annoy her.
His roommate’s Jim. And he has a tendency to get under his skin, usually just for the fun of it. Honestly though, he likes the guy.
He insists that he doesn’t catch colds. He is wrong.
He can’t keep a secret to save his life.
If allowed, he would eat nothing but cold cereal and porkchops.
He’s doing well enough with his grades, but at one point he had to clean up his act after using the “I can’t come to class because my Grannie’s funeral is today.” excuse one time too many.
The most expensive things he currently owns are: A 25 year-old Plymouth Acclaim, a bottle of Ralph Lauren cologne, and his laptop. In that order.
All joking aside, he’s a really caring, sensitive guy. He volunteers to read along with Belle, Aladdin, and Rapunzel to the kids at the homeless shelter.

Milo for the headcanons, pls
He teaches World History and Ancient Literature.
When he started working at DU, Professor Carl Fredricksen kind of took him under his wing and became a mentor of sorts.
He knows about ten different languages and dialects, including ancient Greek, Latin, Phoenician, and Hebrew.
His wife Kida knows about fifteen different languages and dialects. She works as a translator for a prestigious law firm.
The man’s a born romantic. He’ll spend weeks planning things to do with his wife. Even if they don’t often turn out the way he intended, he enjoys it all.
He likes to show her off to people and brag on her behalf. “Students, this amazing woman right here is my wife Kida.” “Professor Porter, have you met my wife?” “She knows Mandarin, Sanskrit, Garifuna...” It’s incredibly sweet.
He tends to get carried away sometimes during lectures, acting things out or just getting caught up in emotion and excitement. The students think it’s adorable.
He’s, surprisingly, one of the most popular teachers in the school. Professor Jafar will say that’s not a good measuring stick for how good a college professor is, “... and anyway, it’s probably because you’re too soft on them. They think they can just walk all over you.” (sour grapes much?)
He’s developed an unusual and very unexpected comraderie with swim coach Maui. They don’t understand how it works either.
He’s got a kind of brother-sister relationship with Art Professor Jane Porter-Greystroke, and sometimes goes to her for advice regarding women, though she keeps pointing out that he’s got really good instincts when it comes to his wife’s thoughts and feelings.
His office is an absolute mess. “A pile for everything, and everything in its pile.” Carl once described it. His filing system is... well, only he can truly understand it. For example, grades for the Ancient Egypt unit are in a file marked “Sphinx (not Greek).” Student essays on Oedipus Rex and Antigone are filed under “Sphinx (Greek one).”
Driving makes him nervous. Even though he’s got a license, he’d much rather ride the bus or hire an Uber driver (to be fair, the traffic in Anaheim doesn’t make it easy).
He has trouble watching historical films or tv shows. The inaccuracies drive him crazy.
He remembers everyone’s birthday, students and faculty members alike, and always gives them a card.
He’s a huge cat nerd. He and Kida own at least three.
He gets sea-sick really easily. Even just watching sailboats makes him a little queasy by association.
If angry, he’s not afraid to give someone a piece of his mind, as Director Hook once learned the hard way.
This isn’t known outside their most intimate circle of friends, but he and Kida are currently trying to have kids. They’re in no rush. It’ll happen in its own, good time.

rapunzel headcanons?
Her background is surprisingly dark, in that it’s pretty much the same as in the original movie: She was kidnapped as a baby by Gothel, and raised by her until she was eighteen and discovered who her real parents were, with some help from her first human friend, Eugene.
After that they contacted the police, Gothel was arrested, and she was reunited with her family.
She’s lived an extremely sheltered life up to that point, but her spirit and spunk combined with her family and friends’ support has helped her out a lot.
Because she’s not used to being surrounded by so many people and different things, she had trouble focusing sometimes. Her roommate Belle has been really helpful in helping her keep on track.
She once told her life story during a group study, not expecting it to get the reaction it did. Even Cinderella, Jim, and Aladdin, with their own sad childhoods, got a little teary-eyed.
A majority of the student body have since formed the Protect Rapunzel Squad.
Not that she needs much physical protection. In a fight, she could definitely hold her own.
During her eighteen years of near solitude, she’s developed and honed a lot of skills and talents (she’s limited to only one act in the twice-yearly talent show).
She always sketches and doodles in her notebooks during lectures and studying. It kind of helps her focus, but it’s also ‘cause she just can’t go without drawing something for very long.
She had trouble settling on a major, because there are so many fascinating things to study. Not too surprisingly, she finally picked Art Major, with a minor in social studies.
She gives people paintings and drawings for birthday and CHristmas. Sometimes portraits of the recipient, but usually just whatever they want.
She’s the best hairstylist on campus. The other girls usually go to her for help on fancy and ambitious ‘dos.
The only person she has trouble drawing is Merida, Her hair is... really tricky to pull off, unless it’s tied up.
Jim reminds her a lot of Cassandra, sometimes. It’s kind of bittersweet.
Once in chemistry class she turned the bunsen burner a little too high, which resulted in a small explosion. Nobody was hurt, but half the people in the room were stained bright green for a few days.
The day went down in legend as “The Green Boom.”
Moana was the first to title her, “Our resident cinnamon roll.”
She likes reading biographies of strong women leaders, like Queen Victoria, Catherine the Great, etc.
Her favorite artist is a tie between Elisabeth Vigee Lebrun and Van Gogh.
She’s thinking about maybe becoming a social worker.
Just about every article of clothing she owns is some shade of purple. Eugene has a running joke where he pretends not to recognise her when she wears a different color.
Their first date was at a theme park. Rapunzel threw up on one of the roller coasters after eating too much cotton candy and funnel cake. It was still one of the most fun days of her life.
She once tried to set up a “playdate” between her chameleon Pascal and Elsa’s salamander Bruni. Poor Pascal nearly drowned, thought there’s no hard feelings.
Her favorite medium is oil paint. It’s harder to work with, because it needs chemical paint thinner instead of water, but she loves the effects.
Once she needed to have her tonsils removed. Eugene, Belle, and Anna (her bestie) stayed in the hospital with her until the procedure. When they were allowed to see her again, she was having a deep conversation with the IV pole while coming out of anesthesia.

since you did Belle I’d love to hear your headcanons for Adam!
I know I’ve never had him in the quotes, but I’d sure like to give it a try.
Came from an incredibly wealthy family, and was a real jerk up until recently. No one’s really sure what happened. They didn’t ask. All they know is that now he’s a much better person.
He’s every bit as much a bibliophile as his girlfriend. They have a friendly competition between them over who’s learning the most in classes.
Pretty much all the guys are at least low key jealous of him. Honestly, who could blame them? He’s super rich, kind, sensitive, smart, athletic, and on top of it all a freakin’ Adonis.
He’s captain of the rugby team.
He still has a bit of a temper on him, though now he shows it when he’s upset on someone else’s behalf, like when one of his teammates gets injured, or one of the professors is being unfair to someone.
He once knocked himself unconscious during a match. It was only for a couple of minutes, long enough to birth a bunch of inside jokes and the nickname, “Hammerhead”. Belle was plenty mad.
He secretly has a salty streak a mile wide.
His favorite author is Rupi Kaur.
He loves to spoil Belle with small but meaningful gifts like a single flower (usually a rose, naturally) a written poem, a cup of coffee made just the way she likes it...
He’s majoring in philosophy.
He isn’t actually rooming in the dorms. His family owns a mansion in Long Beach, which is about half an hour away. He invites his and Belle’s friends and acquaintances to come over whenever they feel like. (Kronk once got lost looking for the bathroom)
Some of the less scrupulous faculty members kept trying to pressure him to donate money to the school (which isn’t the most selfish thing they could ask for, but still...). He finally made the grand donation of... twenty dollars.
They stopped pestering him after that.
Only then did he make a much bigger donation.
Kristoff jokes that a quarter of the campus belongs to Adam now.

Aladdin!
He was in and out of the foster care system through most of his minority, up until he was adopted by an amazing, upstanding guy named Gene (who reminds people of Robin Williams, somehow).
Gene’s more of a best friend than a dad, but Al will proudly introduce him as his adoptive father.
He’s done a lot of volunteer work in Anaheim homeless shelters and mission centers. For obvious reasons.
He’s seriously thinking of studying law so he can become a public defender, especially for kids like him, who grew up either homeless or under the poverty line.
He’s roommates with Kuzco, which has been... interesting, to say the least. He’ll sometimes rearrange or hide Kuzco’s things just to annoy him. As much as they clash, they will readily join forces over a common enemy or rival.
He considers Jim and Eugene to be his best friends, aside from Jasmine and Gene, of course.
He’s not ashamed to admit he watches Downton Abbey. And what’s more, likes it. Belle got Jasmine hooked on it, who in turn got her boyfriend hooked on it.
He started the school’s annual James Bond Film Festival, which is basically watching as many bond films until all participants have dropped from exhaustion. Usually right after semester finals.
He once joined DU’s Auto Club on a road trip up and down California. That’s not a mistake he’ll make again.
For one thing, he realized that California is “Stupidly big.” For another, they kept getting lost due to the club president being more confident in her own navigational abilities than anyone else’s, including the GPS.
He’s kind of embarrassed about this, but he doesn’t know how to swim. Plans to learn one of these days.
His favorite musical is Newsies.
His favorite Author is Mark Twain.
The dates he and Jasmine usually go on are usually long walks in the park at night, sometimes going somewhere where they can see the city lights.
He doesn’t have a whole lot of spare change, so he’s learned to be pretty creative with homemade gifts. Jasmine’s favorite necklace is one he made with supplies from the craft store (it’s actually really beautiful). Just about every student has at least one handmade item he gave them for Christmas or birthday.
He and Jasmine are planning to foster kids when they get married.

Jim Hawkins for the au headcanon!
I’ve got a few...
He and Ariel were friends-kinda’ in elementary school before her family moved. He probably started crushing on her then, but he would’ve denied it.
Seeing the breakdown of his parents’ marriage has left him with a somewhat cynical view of romance and dating. Not that he hates the idea or isn’t supportive of people’s relationships, he’s just more skeptical about “True Love”.
Having Eugene Fitzherbert for a roommate has been a huge exercise in patience. But he does consider him a good friend.
Rapunzel used to be a little intimidated by him, until she had a brief visit and found out he’s really quite nice. Jim is now a card-carrying member of the Protect Rapunzel Squad.
For all his prickly, sarcastic attitude, he’s actually a really nice person who can make friends easily, with unexpected people.
While he wouldn’t call himself an otaku or weeb, he is a pretty big fan of Full Metal Alchemist and Cowboy Bebop. He also likes My Hero Academia (Todoroki is his favorite character). He STILL hasn’t gotten over the ending to Heroes Rising.
His Maternal Grandfather was a Scottish immigrant, so he knows a bit of Scottish history and slang/culture references, but only up to the 1970′s/80′s.
Because of this, for a few weeks he was one of the only people who always understood Merida through her accent. They ended up becoming good friends over this.
He’s a huge fan of mechanics. His studies lean toward engineering, and he repairs car parts in his spare time.
He’s got a motorbike he fixed up (don’t ask me what model). Once he offered to give Tiana a ride to the grocery store. An experience neither of them is eager to repeat.
He co-founded Disney University’s Auto Club alongside Audrey Ramirez. If asked, he would NOT do it again. The only other members are Merida and Kristoff.
His friendship with Tiana probably stemmed from how much she reminds him of his mom.
His most embarrassing secret: he’s arachnophobic. Majorly. He’ll actually break into a cold sweat if he knows there’s a spider in his dorm but can’t find it.
He’s actually a really good singer, but sadly never sings in front of other people. He might be coaxed into singing along with a bunch of people, if he’s in a good mood.
