May I ask how to came to the conclusion that going away from tumblr was healthy for you? I’m thinking the same thing but what made you realize?

i didn’t think about tumblr even once while i was away.

i had time to develop deeper connections with already established relationships (online and in person). i was able to develop a much greater awareness of myself and what my needs and wants are. by being on tumblr all the time, i was always filling requests and writing what others wanted. i was being who my followers wanted me to be. i lost interest in the content i was making almost four months ago now, but i kept it up because people wanted me to. it doesn’t bring me joy. not to mention, the toxic people. even just reading posts on others’ pages, it brought me down mentally into a dark space.

being away gave me freedom and has made me feel much lighter and more hopeful than i have in such a long time.

you’ve invested so much into this, and it sounds like you really want to do it so i say GO FOR IT.

just remember, fanfic isn’t a job and it isn’t even necessarily for readers. it’s for the writers to write whatever the fuck they want about whoever the fuck they want. don’t let a fear of a cold response stop you from working on something you are interested in.

I really want to continue the Forbidden series. For those who don't know what that is, it was a series I had posted last year (now deleted from my blog) that was set around 1900s. It was Bounty Hunter! Yelena x Bishop! Reader. I have made a map for it, character introductions & a mood board for each character. I was able to post 1 chapter before life got busy and I didn't have time to sit and write chapter length stuff. So I deleted it from my blog and planned to really work on it this year to be able to post it again.

Unfortunately I think I am getting too into my own head and keep thinking that people would be more interested in the series if the pairings were different. Please know that I don't write for the likes or reblog etc BUT, this is a series I want to put a lot of time and effort into & sadly I do believe that it won't get the recognition it deserves simply because it's a Yelena x Reader story & not a Nat x Reader or Wanda x Reader.

As motivated as I am to continue this series, I honestly just want to know if it's worth me putting in the time and effort. So please, be honest when answering. I won't be offended or anything, I just want to know where best to put my writing focus.
