Elantris is so underated tbh. I read it on january of last year and I'm still thinking about it. Raoden is 100% my favourite cosmere character. The magic system is wonderful (I mean, it's based in languages, that's so interesting!!). And Sel is such cool planet! It may not be Sanderson's greatest work, but it's definitely really fun and entertaining, and I think it deserves more love.

Sarene: Well, my husband's apparently dead, so I have nothing to do. Time to troll people in power. Ashe: Please don't troll the King, my lady. Sarene: Of course not. Ashe: Oh thank goodness Sarene: That would be too easy. Now, that religious crusader with the armor, psychopathic sidekick, and massive army of priests… he might be fun to play with Ashe: Oh sweet merciful Domi why *meanwhile in zombieland* Raoden: I am going to cure everyone's depression using shoes and history books Galladon: Pretty sure that hasn't ever worked Raoden: Of course it hasn't worked, it hasn't been done by ME yet.
I love Elantris so much. The rest of the Cosmere gives us complex backstories and traumas seasoned with snark and philosophy and epic magic systems. Elantris is just two separated soulmates who decided to punch fate in the face because they felt like it. Simple, but delicious.
#I love elantris#but I'm still sad a certain someone decided to get stabbed >:'/ I liked that someone

Special site for 7.3 is up and no. You can't convince me Bakool Ja Ja knows how to play Mahjong. His lines had better be urging you to eat your opponents' pieces at all times.
Especially when you lose.
ESPECIALLY when you win.

The Search For Corvos.
For the longest time, I haven't been able to let it go - until I realised when catching up with the Endwalker Hildibrand quests that I had in fact; missed out on a couple of side quests in Radz-at-Han.
I won't post the screenshots - it's a fairly big quest and I don't want to spoil it... but apparently, Corvos is described as a region that has snowy icy wasteland to the North - Mountain ranges to the west and coastal plains to the South.
They only have one capital too (which hasn't been named as far as I know of.)
Now during that quest... there are Corvosi Garlean refugees (I refuse to call the place by it's Latin given name.) that are seeking temporary refuge in Galemald, and apparently the capital of Corvos was left in disarray and destruction during the Final Days, the Corvosi rebels have taken advantage of that and are now attacking the Garleans back from the city.
So I'm guessing either Thancred and G'raha couldn't be there in time to forewarn them of the danger, or they were simply shrugged off and told to go away.
Anyhow... I was up to my hijinx as usual and asked a friend (who is much better than me at investigating things than I am - @indexvirus)
I asked my friend - Can you go to Thavnair for me and check out these specific places, so I might even see Corvos on the horizon?
There is a big rock blocking my view of Corvos... so I'm curious. So my friend goes in to investigate... cos they know how to get past the limits of the digital hexagonal limits of NO.
There is no Corvos... none.
I reckon at some point it will be a case of adding Corvos as a Field Operatives event... nothing more, I'm afraid.

Astral & Umbral Magic
I wanted to explore the Astral/Umbral aspects introduced with FFXIV since I think it’s an interesting and useful concept. This will be spoiler-free, and I do not recommend researching too much into FFXIV’s magic system if you haven’t played the game, since it is tied heavily into the storyline in places, and you may run into spoilers.

What is Covered Below the Cut:
Summary of the Astral/Umbral Concepts
Examples of Astral/Umbral Manifestations of Elements
How the Astral/Umbral Concept Maybe Useful in Other Magic Systems
Symbolism of Astral/Umbral with a Quick Look at the Twelve

I know the identity the Crystal Exarch is like, the worst kept spoiler in FFXIV against some stiff competition, but WAS it a surprise for any of you out there? Or something that you figured out on the way, even?

i just can't convey the frustration and sorrow that it's been to grow up at first without the internet and then watching it bloom into this useful, fun, connecting force you sometimes spent time on, only for it to degrade into this constant oppressive waste of time and energy where people are constantly pumping out algorithmically designed content for max algorithmic appeal and even the most simple search generates either no results or an infinite abyss of ai generated slop none of which is usable or correct. we briefly had a library of alexandria and then fed it into a paper shredder so advertisers could sell a random mash of pulp back to us at a premium.
