And I'm not particularly sure what the business is either — guess they don't want any of us to know, keep it under wraps or something. But, of course, we're not in charge, and we never will be. It's really out of our control.

*They stick the half of the pen they were holding behind their ear, like an artist or perhaps a designer might. Of course, the fellow was neither of these, despite how the way they held themself or the barely paint-stained shoes might convey. They leaned back on the table, taking a sheet of paper and inspecting it.*

Peter snapped the pen in his hand clean in half, tossing the pieces onto his already cluttered desk with a sharp exhale. He leaned back in his chair, rubbing his temples like the weight of the world...or rather, his incompetent coworkers...was grinding his nerves to dust.

"Oh, fuck off, Ari. Don’t even get me started on how the teams are doing. I’m practically babysitting a troupe of headless chickens in clown shoes who couldn’t organize a two-car parade if their lives depended on it!!"

he froze in his seat as he lets out another sharp exhale. slumping into his seat, the chair creaking against his weight

"sorry- sorry. The director is just puttin alot on me. didn't mean to explode on you..."

*Ari spoke casually, as if they were well used to situations such as these. They walked over to the desk and picked up one of the pen halves, twirling it skilfully between their fingers, and nodded as Peter talked.*

Yeah, the director tends to be like that, huh? Tell you what — if you need help with some of that, let me know. Especially if there's number crunching to do — *They gesture to themself* — I guess you'd consider me an expert in that regard. Say....

*They peered over his shoulder at whatever happened to be on the desk — they couldn't judge, of course; their own desk was equally if not more chaotic than this one.*

If I had to choose, New Year's Kisses. It's never really worked before, since I haven't had anyone to do it with, but maybe some day. Or some year, I guess. I don't know.

This isn't really a superstition, but back in college, Ray would insist we watch the London firework show every year. They'd plan the journey there and everything so we'd see it in person. Good times? Good times.

You— you think? Huh. This one's psych horror, but there's (I wanna say aspects...?) of science-fiction in it. Thought I'd give the genre a go myself after seeing other horror films at a film festival last year.

*They're shifting the weight between their feet, anxious about what feedback they may well get. This is fair — not a lot of their works manage to make it past the drafting stage.*

I suppose you could say I like theatre, yeah. I mainly hover between writing plays like this and stuff for the screen. It's honestly harder than you'd think, psych horror for the stage. No fancy camera angles to focus on things with, and you have to consider the set a lot more — it's a lot to consider, y'know?

I mean— you probably don't, but I guess it's food for thought.

('Kay, here goes....)

If anyone wants an update from me, Ray's sent me— I think this is dry ice? *They check the label on a box.* Yep, dry ice.

It's not that bad, actually. Hurts my mouth a bit but that's the cold talking. I've just made iced coffee with it and honestly it's really good!

It's a shame you guys can't have this though, I think some of you'd really like it.
