She was kidding… mostly. “Buy me a drink an’ I’ll call it even.” Good thing she knew this part of town pretty well; looks like he did luck out after all. She’d given him a quick once over and already guessed the kinds of bars he’d prefer.

Again, good thing she knew the area. She was going to have fun with this.

“Welcome ta Spirale, Mistah Tall, Dark and Mysterious. I, Harley Quinn, will be yer tour guide this fine evenin’. If ya want ta see the giant hole a’ doom situated in the centre of the city then take a left here but the real fun is this way!” She gestured to her right and prompted him to follow her.

          ✝     “ Y’DRIVE A HARD BARGAIN, LOVE. ” he replied, a hint of sarcasm touching his words. a drink wasn’t all that steep a price, so he’d take what he can get. 

     he arched a brow aside for a moment, before pocketing both hands and falling into step beside her. as someone who’s peered into the dark and seen hell, constantine cared little for more earthly concerns-- that was the justice league’s business. although the name rang a few bells and none of them good, he couldn’t give less of a damn in the current circumstances. he had no stake in this realm anyway.

          “ tempting, but maybe later. i’ve got an ale somewhere with my name on it-- i’m sure th’giant hole of doom won’t be goin’ anywhere any time soon. i’m all yours, ms quinn. ”

          ✝     OFT DID HE KEEP THE COMPANY OF DEVILS, whether vice or hell itself-- it came with the territory. john constantine led a charmed life, battling the things of the night and everything inbetween, enjoying a drink now and again when the demons and otherworldly nightmares allowed him a breather. not that the glamour and praise of others ever suited him-- leave that to the justice league. 

     he was making a quick buck off some locals at a seedy pub hiding away beneath the face of a perfect cityscape, hustling for some information while he was at it. places like this felt more at home than some fancy club or bar, but that wasn’t saying much. it reeked of booze, smoke and bad idea, though some might say the same of him, and he’d be the first to agree with it.

     his eyes fell to the hand he’d been newly dealt, not a twitch of a muscle disturbing his expression; a practiced apathy, no tell in his gaze to betray him. this game was about dissecting people, and just having bloody good luck otherwise, in his opinion. he could see the frustration bleed into their features little by little with every loss-- they were throwing their pride down on the table and he’s barely said a word. and he thought demons were terrible sports, but at least they couldn’t cheat with magic. 

     glancing, he noted the others discreetly, before placing his cards face-down upon the table. as he’d been about to make a move, a shadow fell over the game, and john peered aside to acknowledge the stranger.

          “ enjoyin’ th’show? you should see what i can do at parties. ” the others didn’t look all that amused by his banter, but they kept their mouths shut anyway. tough crowd, he mused.

FAVOURITE FOOD TYPE :  something bad for him, most likely. FAVOURITE ALCOHOLIC DRINK :  hard liquor.
