School
I don’t hate going to school. I actually really enjoy it. However, I do hate putting up with people I don’t like, assisting classes that don’t interest me and taking negative criticism from teachers that barely remember my name. I love going to school and learning new and interesting things, but unfortunately schools are no longer a place for self-growth filled with learning opportunities, they are a place of conformity.

Quick story
So last Friday I was killing my shoulder workout, finishing with traps.
Then I saw this overweight guy arriving at the gym, very nice, saying hi and doing his workout. I noticed that he always comes 3 days a week, no matter what. He just comes in, no music, just working hard with the weights and doing light cardio at the end.
I notice that he is always walking around trying new movements. But he doesn’t have the right form on some exercises. So I wondered “man I gotta help him”, but you know it’s hard to interrupt someone during his workout and say “hey bruh, you’re not doing it right“ you never know how people can react or even feel about that sentence.
He went to the water fountain and I asked him straightly “Do you have a workout program or something? I see you around a lot, what’s your goal?”. He obviously wanted to lose weight, but you never know how he wants to achieve that. For example this guy wanted to become a policeman, so his goal was to lose weight while building muscle.
I looked at him and said “Anything is possible if you’re willing to do the work. You know what? I’m making you a 3 days program, I’m doing it for free, you owe me nothing. I prepare you this for Monday, whether you do it or not I don’t care, but at least try” (all in french obviously)
So today was hitting chest & back and the guy came. I was sweating and everything, but I handed his 3 days workout, which was 2 days of weight lifting with 2 light cardio at the end + 1 day cardio only. I added some footnotes regarding how to train, how many reps, how many sets.. and I obviously added: “Man if you need motivation, checkout http://www.gymaholic.co/motivation”
And he did the workout.
Cool story brah, but what’s the point?
Instead of judging people who are trying to improve, help them. You’re probably not a personal trainer, but you know some stuff that others don’t. For example you see someone performing a back squat with bad form, tell him straight away.
At the end of the day, we’re all in this together.

Yes, squats give me a nice ass.
But no one wants to concentrate on how strong, motivated, and dedicated they’ve made me.
I find it sad that they only way to inspire women to lift is to tell them it will improve a body part they can’t even see without a mirror.
