I'm ngl I don't really like dragons rising very much and it SUCKS

I really love the new characters and the way that's all handled but. the actual concept with the realms merging just is so uninteresting to me and given that the entire show basically revolves around that one thing it makes it SO HARD for me to feel actually invested in it. and I wanna be invested so bad! but I just CAN'T

extra sucks because I love and would die for arin and sora. ninjago why must you offer me such lovely characters and then stick them in something that bores me so badly how could you do this to me

also the "every girl is a love interest" is already dying given that dr has two main girl characters who were not introduced as love interests to main guy characters.

Ninjago tropes that NEED to die

- fake deaths

- resurrections

- love at first sight

- every girl being a love interests

- maguffin hunts

- inventor girl archetype

- every ship being a straight ship

- sidelining characters

- forgetting powers and techniques

- getting powers stolen

- serpentine villains (seems like Dr season 4 will have one. I’m tired bro)

- skylor being treated as a plot device than an actual character

- Jaya

- Zane’s fuckass titanium design. This isn’t even a trope I just fucking hate it PLEASE go back to the cloak

can't comment on the other stuff cause I like techtonic shipping and I find sora boring and her design too much

but for wyldfyre I personally started liking her because she actually became a funny character with enjoyable dynamics with the others. i did not like her out of nowhere on roby no matter how "feminine" it made her because for her it felt ooc. also I prefer her old design.

And arin is adorable.

"i hate arin it was so mean of him to join ras" and then they love cinder because hes hot

idk im starting to think arin wouldn't be such a disagreed-upon character if he was a "conventionally attractive" teenager

i probably sound insane right now trying to prove the existence of pretty privilege in the fandom of a show about 4cm tall plastic lego ninja but its on my mind like crazy

people love the pink cat girl with the cute makeup, people love the strong pretty water ninja, people dont like the violent girl raised by dragons. and thats not even mentioning the fact that both sora and nya have significant male characters theyre shipped with (sora with arin (albeit not canon) and nya with jay)

wyldfyre has roby, yes, but there are still people who say theyre annoying. ive also seen people say "i used to hate wyldfyre but now i love her" and part of me wonders if its because of the design change and/or the fact that giving her a love interest makes her seem more "feminine".

anyway heres something nice because this one was very negative

DR kinda took the word ninjago away from the show itself bcus around the whole franchise their duty was to protect NINJAGO city and everyday is the same kinda like MLB but way better, well the merge is a crazy cool concept and we can actually figure out what all the realms are but at some point you do question what is their duty now? Finding master wu? What about other ppl tho coles dad? Nya and kais parents? Misako? Other important indivisuals other then master wu?? Or even side character like what happened the mailman nelson and the paper girl (forgot her name) skylor and vania or even garmadon like they keep adding new characters but also forgetting the old ones

I know people dont really think much of the Forbidden Five because they are such a wasted potential and because of how shitty the choices were made by them because of the team but can we at least admit that Nokt was a really good villain based off of what we seen of him in season 2 part 2 and season 3 part 1? I liked seeing how off his priorties are when it comes to taking care of revenge on Ras first and freeing Thunderfang comes second as we see a bit of his personality too.

dr fans are just as annoying as ninjago nostalgic fans. they act like the new show is perfect, when it's far from it. if you dare criticizing it, they crash out and say you're "not a real fan". i can criticize anything i dislike about dr as much as i can also criticize the old seasons (aka og ninjago).

absolutely hilarious how some jokes write themselves, the new seasons are so interesting the community decided to revive a 5+ yo sexism debate because it was more entertaining to discuss than whatever is happening in canon rn lollol

OR, because Lloyd is the protagonist we've been following for eight seasons and we care more about him than the side character made out to just be a love interest that we only got to know for that one season....

Harumi honestly has more in common with Chen than Morro; they're both highly manipulative cult leaders who pretend to love someone in some way just to get something out of them, and then have 0 problem trying to dispose of them once they have what they want. Both also have no problem making their followers afraid of them despite being on the same side. Both of them revive a bastardized version of what they worship. Both of them had complete agency when it came to the choices they made, and their deaths snatched control away and were done by the very thing they idolized so heavily. All that being said, Harumi is definitely more talked about than Chen. I think that comes down to the fact that people care way more about Lloyds experience with abuse and exploitation than they do about Skylor's which is also probably because of misogyny.

the show will continue to plummet if the main 4 keep getting pushed aside, the writing and setting are even more interesting than some early seasons but don't work because they lack what made the original show so lovable

for example: do i think morro or master chen where the most interesting antagonist or that those seasons were peak writing? no

will i watch them over dr any day because of the ninja dynamics being honored and all of the main characters getting to have the spotlight instead of being shoved in the corner to make room for " random new gen character number 76", yes

either make a new show without them period or start acknowledging them otherwise what r we doing

If the ninja legit send Zane after Jay in S2P2, I'm 95% fucking precent sure Jay joins them. Maybe not permanently because the newfound trust issues, but a chance at revenge for Ras? A chance at exposing Ras at the tournament? He would DEFINITELY not pass up on that.

Instead, it's like the ninja just blindly follow their idealized look of "Wu" and legit lose all in all.

I think it's time to accept Lloyd needs to realize that they aren't a complete team without Jay, and that they need to stop following this idealized leadership of Wu. Especially considering the fact that Sora and Arin never got the words of advice needed to feel confident as ninja.

Ehh it makes sense to me there's no point in the others remembering

Kai was gone most of the season and so was Zane

Lloyd didn't really do much

I would most like Cole to remember since he and Jay actually had some good moments together

other than that it's the same difference whether Jay and Nya are the only ones or not, they're the most important of that season

I don’t mind that Skybound ended with them going back in time and undoing everything- I just hate the fact that they made it so only Jay and Nya remember it
