Once Luke stepped in, the man almost gawked at his sight. Clive, on the other hand, smiled softly. They were in a dimly lit room with a spiralling staircase leading up to the other floors. There was another doorway to the left of the stair case, covered by dull coloured curtains.
The man who had earlier spoken to Clive sat himself down on a stool near a makeshift study desk littered with clipboards, journals, mugs, and writing tools. A glass lamp lights the area up with a soft amber glow, and so far, was the brightest light in the room. "What did I tell him? Oh-" The man already gives Clive a questioning look, as if to silently say 'Don't tell him' "I told him a story.. Though that's not important. Good people! Friends! That's who wants to meet you. Nigel over here is one of them."
Clive's trying to make this as comfortable for Luke as he can, a scared witness is harder to interrogate than a calm one. Nigel kind of blinks nervously at Luke, before he rubs that back of his neck and smiles nervously.
"A-ah... Hi Luke, it's nice to finally meet you." The leader nods before deciding to leave Luke with Nigel. "I'm going to tell the others about you, Nigel?" "Uh- Clive?" "I want you to get to know Luke while I'm gone, is that okay?" "I suppose!" At this point, poor old Nigel has to shout it. Clive's already up the stairs. Once he's gone, Nigel's smile falls.
"...Luke Triton, is it?"
"Huh? What did you tell him?" Clive was beginning to scare Luke. He wasn't sure what was going on, but he could tell that it wasn't good. "Who's wanting to meet me?"
#Clive come back! This isn't how you take care of kids#but yeah! I'm excited to see my friends too! (They're actually pretty cool wow)#luketritonofficial#also sorry for the quickly written word dump!#Correct me if there's any mistakes

It saddened him that his plans had to make her that mad, but anything goes for the sake of success. The whole kicking out thing was not part of his plans, but being kind was. Clive understood why they would be bad for business, so he didn't lessen his tip. He didn't want his image to worsen, after all.
"I know your father can have a nasty temper..." 'She probably inherited hers from him...' "I won't be a foolish gent and walk you there. But to make up for this mishap, we'll stop by another cafe to get you a warm drink and something to eat for the trip 'back'. We'll part our ways at the street we were at earlier..." Everything about his plan, was dangerous. Every second he spent with her was dangerous... Yet, he seemed unnaturally calm.
"Is that a sound plan?" The leader asks as he pushes himself out his chair. Why was he still sticking to this prim gentleman façade? Was it even a façade?

"We're here.." Clive says as they stand in front of a grey door, with a closed slot in the middle. The door wasn't always like that... In fact, it just used to be a empty door frame. They couldn't have that, even if this building was a temporary base. Calmly, he knocks on the smooth metal of the door. Not too hard, in case if they haven't had time to properly install it yet.
The cover of the slot slides open, revealing a pair of glassed eyes. "Name, age, and status?" The person behind the door says firmly.
"Clive Dove, 25, the 'Leader' "
"Alright, you know what to do..."
What he did next wasn't something that was in English. It was hard to place where the language he was speaking in was from, but it seemed that he was reciting a passage.
"It's nice to see you again, Clive. Do you have anything that I should know before you come in?" This time, what Clive says couldn't be heard. It was obviously something that was a shock to the other. As something along the lines of "Unbelievable!" was heard. After a few moments of chattering, the man behind the door opened it with the sound of a lock turning. Soon after, the leader motions Luke into the old building.
"Make yourself comfortable, there's people who would like to meet you"
"I-if you say so." He looked at the buildings. It was a pretty sight to say in the least, but Luke had a feeling that something was up. He slowly started to creep behind Clive. Not that he was scared or anything of course
#oh boy I feel like with all that's happening#Luke should be scared#luketritonofficial#I love NPCs#so much that I even make icons of them#but I've been well! Break's almost over so I'm a bit sad about that#but things are cool!#How about you?

"Hm? Oh right. The thing is, I'm a bit unconcerned with what I was about to say. With the fact that they're giving us about 10 minutes before they kick us out of here." He twirls his hand around "I mean no offence, but our combined presence is bad for business, the costumers are uncomfortable. Simply put, the manager doesn't like us." Oh sure, Clive was fine with being disliked, but he had really hoped that they could have relaxed a bit more. He had a feeling that things after this was going to be anything but relaxing.
"He's kind enough to let us have an umbrella to use. Says he doesn't care to have them back, he just wants us out of here." Clive said dryly, being a bit peeved about all this. 'Looks like I to change plans a bit... Nothing I couldn't deal with...'
They have an umbrella, but it was raining harder than it was before. Cold droplets hit the glass window relentlessly. The cold air filled the smell of petrichor, which all the more, made staying inside more preferable.

"Love can drive a good man to war..." Clive shook his head solemnly...
"You bring up a good point, Descole. Who I can and cannot trust is a vital thing to know when you want to take someone like the Prime Minister down. It even has to do with you, I can't lie and say that I completely trust you yet. So I'm not able to tell you my plans to eliminate Layton's rule." What he said was sharp, yet so very blunt.
"To be scared is one thing, to be cautious is another. Let me ask you, does a man fear his own shadow when he knows things could hide in it?"
Hello, Clive~
Clive stares at the man for a while before finally deciding to speak with his speech-maker of a mouth. He isn’t too sure if he could trust the man, but if he thinks about it, there really isn’t much of a reason why he shouldn’t

"…. Descole? If I’m correct… I’ve heard of you before…what brings you here?"
#goddamn clive#he just asked a question#no need to go all philosophical on him#I'm not sure if 'love can drive a good man to war' is something I made up#or if it's from somewhere I don't remember#descolethearchaeologist

>> You know I could make badly edited dreamselfies of Robot Clive but I love thinking about NPCs and I'd rather make icons of Nigel.
Look at this badly edited cutie.

"That's-" Frankly, his younger self would agree with her. "Heh..." Clive gives a condescending smile at how he used to be. "We both know there's more to it than that... In fact, isn't this what's-" The spiel is cut off by one of the staff members, to which Clive frowns slightly.
"Excuse me sir, but the manager wants me to talk to you. We really me-" Clive isn't up to hear the girl ramble an apology. "Alright, Flora... I'll be with you in a bit." That's when the girl looks over to her nervously, rubbing her arm and motioning Clive to another area.
They could be seen talking, with the girl still looking very nervous and jittery, and with Clive looking particularly indifferent to her behaviour. He nodded and probably said something along the lines of. "Okay, it's fine. I understand" Soon after, the girl left Clive to go back into the kitchen, giving one last nervous glance at Flora before going back to work.
Finally, when Clive sat back down at their table he sighed and folded his arms. "It's nothing to worry about...just go on with what you were about to say"

Now that he knew that he certainly got canine's peaceful interest, he smiles out of curiosity. 'Peaceful' was an important word, at least he knew now that he wasn't going to become a blue chew toy...
He wasn't sure if all dogs approach people slowly to sniff them, the last time he's been this close to one was when he first got adopted by Constance. Frankly, he doesn't remember much of the dog who died shortly after his adoption. From an early age, he knew that dogs meant a lot to people.... Speaking of which, did the dog have an owner?
"Oh! uh- Hello there..." He gives a soft wave of his hand, still observing Lee, just as intrigued as he was earlier.
The hound stares right back and tilts his head. Normally humans make a lot more noise and move around a lot more when they see Lee… Maybe this person is asleep? But he’s sitting up with his eyes open like that… What a talented sleeper! The hound carefully and quietly trots to Clive in an attempt to get a sniff in without “waking up” this human.

Fear was never something to latch onto the courageous leader. Being fearless was one of his principles, he must have a rock solid stance in the most dire of situations. The 2.4 meter dog of fires was not going to be something he was going to be afraid of. Clive was merely in awe of how such a thing could exist... Was it a creation of a scientist who was an avid canine and fire lover?
"...." He couldn't really say anything, not really. Just staring a bit, intrigued by the warm flames.
#I believe you wanted a starter- right?#Sorry this was late by the way!#and it's nice to meet you! Hello!

There was something different about how Clive carried himself. His walk… the way he looked at things… It was like looking at a different person, or maybe it was like seeing Clive as he used...
He grabbed his hat and ran to Clive. "I'm coming!" Luke caught up to Clive. "What's so important that you need me to ran anyway?"
"Ah, well- Meeting new people is always important,Luke." He says confidently as he places a reaffirming hand on Luke's shoulder.
"Good people, to be specific. I'd like for you to meet a few friends of mine, the whole lot of them are good people." The leader leads Luke down a corner and onto a barren row of buildings, most of them lacked color, which meant that the were pretty old. Ivy crept up the brick walls and in shattered windows. Even though there was a feeling of abandonment, the area felt peaceful and safe. It was a wonder that they could find such a place, here in this city.

Rapid fast thoughts came to a halting stop and hung on the word 'maybe'. If she genuinely liked designing dresses as she implies she does, then it was a bit concerning that she was being hesitant."Oh... I see..." "Well that sounds wonderful. If that's what you'd like to do, go for it..."
"I've always want to become a speechmaker, and look where I'm at now" That didn't really give anything away... Of course he wanted to be one in his 'youth', that diligent nature didn't come out of nowhere. The last bit was a bit pointless to say, but he just wanted to show the other some sympathy... Even though they should be at each other's throats right now.

"I'm not the one to rush people, but this calls for it. Hurry a little, Luke. We haven't got all day" He continued to walk down the street while glancing at the rooftops. But at least he turned to look at Luke, just wanted to make sure he was within reasonable distance.
"Make up your mind Clive. Do you want me to stay or not?" "Hey, wait for me!"

"No, you shouldn't do that either..." Clive paused to think, planning on what to do next.
"Tell you what, Luke. I actually need your help..." He turned as the corners of his mouth twitched down in a thoughtful frown.

"Follow me, I wouldn't want you to get lost.." The others need to hear about this...
This kid was so much more vital to learn about now. If- Luke needs to be taken in for interrogation right now, immediately!
"It can’t be…You shouldn’t be here…”
