I’m a big Magic fan, so of course I had to draw these two! Everybody’s favorite elder dragon brothers, gotta love ‘em.

It’s been all quiet on the Puzzle and Dragons front. The new content is too difficult for me to beat alone and I’ve been unable to pull much of the new pantheons so I’m unable to utilize new mechanics. However, I’ve been trying to keep up with what I can and I got really lucky with the PAD Island REM pulling the new gems.

Today was a pretty productive Community Day. Hatched my favorite gen 1 regional and caught 7 shiny chikoritas. The last four were in the last hour as well.

“why do you spend hours hunting for shiny pokemon if they don’t even have good ivs?”

I had some pretty good luck on Moltres Day this past weekend. This one showed up on raid 6. Met up with my local raid train group and we ended up doing about 16 raids. Must remember the external battery next time.

Season 8 DDAL Character Idea
With the new rules for Dungeons and Dragons Adventurer’s League rules, it actually makes builds that require unique magic weapons more viable. I came up with this build in the past week that I really enjoy. Here’s what you do:
1. You take Human Variant as your race for the feature Polearm Master. Your class choice will be Hexblade Warlock which gives us a very specific spell at level 9.
2. Pact of the blade is your choice at Level 3, removing the restriction for heavy weapons off of your hexblade weapon. Giving the option to take a Pike, Glaive, or Halberd to pair with your first level feat. Whichever damage type you prefer.
3. At level 4, take Sentinel as a feat. This allows it so when an enemy enters your 10-ft area of effect from your pact polearm you may make an opportunity attack. If you hit you halt their movement, and if they have no ranged or reach options, effectively ending their melee assault against you. If you’ve saved up enough Treasure Points you can get yourself a nice +1 Polearm, an absolute rarity in previous DDAL seasons.
4. At level 5, take Eldritch Smite as your first Pact Invocation, it’ll be important to get that wonderful scaling damage onto your melee strikes. (Remember Warlock spell slots automatically increase in level up to 5th at level 9. So when smites go off and you burn a slot, it can automatically deal extra damage.)
5. At level 8, take War Caster as your last feat, so you may make somatic components while holding your two-handed weapon. It shouldn’t have been too hard to select Verbal spells up until this point, but you’re going to want to keep concentration for this next part.
6. Level 9, you take the spell Enervation, which is only on the Sorcerer, Warlock, and Warlock spell lists from Xanathar’s Guide to Everything. It functions a lot like the first level spell Witch Bolt, but with several improvements. The spell causes an enemy in 60′ to make a DEX save and if they make it they only take 2d8 damage. If they fail however, they take 4d8 damage and you can subsequently use your action on your future turns to immediately cause them to take another 4d8 damage. Oh and the best part, save or not, you immediately regain health equal to half the damage you deal. The only way they can stop this damage is if they stop your concentration (good luck since you have War Caster), or if they get out of range of you. Now the trick is to get up into somebody’s face and then cast this spell because, here’s the thing, your action may be taken each turn but your opportunity attack is not. So when they realize attacking you is a bad idea and try to run, they take a polearm to the back and your sentinel feature goes off and you stop their movement a wonderful 10 feet away from you. Then just move right back up to them and absorb more of their energy the way only a Warlock can.
7. Go nuts with the remaining levels, you’re only halfway done on your character.
If they’re a melee fighter, they’re screwed getting their life force sucked away from you and your possessed polearm. If not, you’re definitely effective at ranged distances with Eldritch Blast and other options.
