gonna put the progress of this thing in its own post

so we start with references

then i figure out my layouts and start sketchin, putting the text down first after initial drafting

then i gotta fully flesh out all of the illustrative bits with pencil sketching. we got the holy gritty with his holy hockey staff and flyers pendant, little bits of orange dashed onto there, designing the flyers logo wherever i can

then we get black inking on there, bit more orange as well. normally i get kinda heartbroken when I smear a bit of ink here or there by mistake, even patch to fix mistakes sometimes.

But I'm gonna be real. The small blots match too well with the overall energy of the piece

New pattern time!

Yes, it’s a rare Etsy update (by the way, I have an Etsy). Took me a long time to get around to tidying up the pattern I used for my 2021 Desert Bus craft, but I did! You can find it here.

I’ve also put up a version of the pattern with just Dream and none of the background, if you want a smaller piece to work on.

I have no idea if I’ll get back into using this site (as I only really made it as a personal searchable crafts portfolio), but I might. I’ve got like 3+ years of crafts that I’m behind on posting here. :D

Beast Tyrant and faithful bear! Like the other small minis, the Tyrant itself was a little harder to paint. But I really enjoyed painting up the bear. :D

I always try to make a custom Valentine, and I no longer have easy access to a color printer, so I made a Goose collage out of borrowed origami paper. I think it worked out. :3

And, after making a quick temporary mold of a coffin mini that I had, the Gloomhaven terrain is complete!

I've been relishing my growing role as "slab of retaliatory rock" and "generator of flying rock terrain" now that my rock-bud has hit level 4. I was getting ready to dispense with "trio of flying obstacles" number 3 when I got knocked out. We still won, though.

I bought a trio of Beholder-kin while at a game shop birthday party, then decided to paint it while watching a favorite streamer. My Concerning Eyeball Family is growing!

I had some skull molds that I poured some extra clear resin into, after which I had the thought of "I wonder how it would look if I painted a pattern on top of the skull, then submerged it into more clear resin?"

This is the result. (I've also added a bit more clear resin on top so that there's not a line where the resin ends around the indent.)

My friend and I made some things to send in a fan package up to Loading Ready Run, back in January or so. I am 100% not spoiling the main thing in the package, because it is a thing of Terrible Beauty, but I will show off the dice tray that I painted and included. It's a condensed insignia of their Dice Friends logo, with an LRR icon and little D20.

Most of the terrain is done! And I'm going to be honest, I don't entirely remember what happened in this game beyond cultist and demon death.
