Ahhh thank you so much! <3  (I know I already replied, but I’m just so touched that someone would rec my story!)
🙅‍♀️👀✏(I need some recs lol), and Clock/Timer emoji (I cant find it lol)
Ohhh, thanks for the questions!
1) Trope I refuse to write
There are 3 and for different reasons: - Time Travel - Pregnancy fic - Mandalorian Clones (controversial, I know!)
2) Do you have words or phrases you use habitually?
Oh, I certainly do. I'm not sure I know what they are lmao but I definitely have tells where it's fairly easy to tell if it's my writing (if you're used to reading it) that even one of my creative writing professors used to point out. I really do like to try combining unusual bits of language, the whole "Killing Me Softly" theory, but I certainly have things I repeat ;)
3) Fave fic from Another Writer?
Hmmmmmmm I love reading other people's stuff, so its easier for me to rec a handful of people, but in the interest of the question...One of my favorites this past year is a Codywan Modern Au:
Life With a Handsome Stranger by @isitmadness
In terms of Spicy fics (so 18 and older!), here waiting for you by @wrennette was one of my faves this year! (Also Codywan!)

There's a chapter 2 to my Handsome Stranger sequel story!
(Definitely recommended that you read Handsome Stranger first as it sets up this sequel...)

is there anything better as a writer than an AO3 message that someone went through all your fics in a fandom? “[person] left kudos on [story1]. [person] left kudos on [story2]. [person] left kudos on [story3].” GLORIOUS. like you actually read words I wrote and thought “hmm, yes good, I will continue” and then did so. magical. i saw some Youths out there afraid this is “stalking” but as an Old let me tell you au contraire, it is a rare sweet nectar that warms our ancient dead hearts 💖

i see your ‘there was only one bed’ and raise you ‘there were two beds but in the middle of the night, you still slip into mine and i don’t complain because you’re sick with a cold/fever because we were running away from the authorities last night and it was pouring rain, and i wake up the next morning and we’re not cuddling or anything, although i wish we were, but we’re facing each other and oh my god, you’re still asleep and i can see every strand of disheveled hair, every freckle, every eyelash, every single detail of your face, illuminated by the 6 am sunrise from the molding motel window behind you, is this love?’

A Handsome Stranger Moves In
This follows my other work, A Handsome Stranger. It might not make much sense if you don’t read that first!
chapter summary: After six months together, Cody wants to make some changes.
relationships: Cody/Obi-Wan Kenobi
words: 3.2k
a/n: Sooo… I guess I kinda thought I was done with this universe. lol Until someone here dropped a little seed that planted in my brain, which was basically, what are the boys up to 5-7 years down the road? I had a few ideas which I’ve turned into one shots, starting here at six months after they make it to Seattle. So there will be a couple more coming at different time intervals!! I hope you will enjoy them. :)
(Also note: I’ve changed Ben’s name to/back to Obi-Wan since they’re the same person. I may actually go back eventually and change Ben’s name in the original story, too.)
Read it on ao3
Cody and Obi-Wan had been together for six months when Obi-Wan got the call.
“I’m sorry… I just don’t think I can do this.”
His heart stilled and mild panic began to creep in. Did he hear him right? No, surely not. “I’m sorry? I think there’s a bad connection.”
“I said this isn’t working.” Sweet, no-nonsense Cody. Ever the man of few words.
But apparently he heard him just fine.

Cody and Obi-Wan had been together for six months when Obi-Wan got the call.
"I'm sorry... I just don't think I can do this."
His heart stilled and mild panic began to creep in. Did he hear him right? No, surely not. "I'm sorry? I think there's a bad connection."
"I said this isn't working." Sweet, no-nonsense Cody. Ever the man of few words.
But apparently he heard him just fine.
He thought things were going great. He was happy—happier than he had been in a long time. Cody seemed happy. They were happy together… weren’t they? Was this because he hadn’t said ‘I love you’ yet?
But really what did he expect? He had barely known Cody for 72 hours when he introduced him to his family, and then they jumped into something of a relationship. Then they were sort of separated for the next three months. But then he met his family! And they had all seemed to like--
"Obi-Wan," Cody's deep, firm voice cut through his anxiety spiral. How had he learned him so well already?
"Yeah?"
"Just seeing if you were still with me."
I'm always with you. I always want to be with you. "Yeah..." He sighed. "Is it... is it something I did? Please tell me, if so."
"What?"
"Just tell me, then I can try to fix it.” It sounded like pleading to his own ears, like desperation. Oh well, they were apparently going to have the conversation anyway. "I really like you, I..." I love you, actually, he wanted to say. So many times he had wanted to say it, but chickened out.
"What?" Cody said a bit louder and more insistently. A moment of silence then laughter that started softly and built and built until he was too tickled to speak. He loved it when Cody got that way—it was a rare gem that he cherished. But now was hardly the time.
"Wha--" He huffed. "Cody, do you really think now is the time for all… this?"
After several minutes, the laughing finally subsided. "Obi-- Obi-Wan... did you think I called you to break up?" Obi-Wan's eyes widened and he paused.
"Well, yes? Yes, of course!" His voice came out slightly higher than he intended. "What exactly do you think 'this isn't working means'? Cody, what am I supposed to think that means?"
"Oh," Cody paused. "Well, I guess I take your meaning." He exhaled then became very serious. “I hope you think better of me than that… to think I’d break up with you over the phone.”
Cody didn’t have to know that one partner had done just that a long time ago. “Okay, okay, but…” Obi-Wan sputtered. He put a hand on his forehead and sighed. "Cody."
"Yeah?"
"Cody, you just can't call and say stuff like that.” He pressed a hand to his chest in a futile attempt at calming his hammering heart. Cody chuckled again while Obi-Wan sighed exasperatedly, "Cody, I love you, but that was a very cruel trick."
"Well, I didn't--" He started then stopped. "Wait, you love me?"
Ohhhh shit. "Actually, no! Did I say love? I meant hate! I hate you right now!" Cody began to laugh again. This was not how this conversation was supposed to go. This was not how he wanted to say those three words for the first time...
The truth was he could never hate Cody. Obi-Wan continued more seriously and softly. "I do love you. This wasn't the way I wanted to say it though." He pinched the bridge of his nose, grateful the gash he got the day they met had long since healed.
"Oh? And how did you want to tell me?” He sounded very smug.
"I guess you'll have to stick around and find out." Two could play at this game.
Cody chuckled softly then cleared his throat. Something was clearly still bothering him, and Obi-Wan just wished he would tell him. There should have been no more tension after Obi-Wan had so thoroughly made an ass of himself. "Cody, darling, you know I love talking to you, but why did you call then? What's not working?" He wasn't bothered that Cody had not said 'I love you' in return. He hoped he would in time, of course, but he would never dream of forcing it.
"It's just...'' Cody exhaled. “You always feel so far away. Yes, yes, I know you're just on the other side of the sound, but only ever getting to see you on weekends, and sometimes not even then, isn't enough for me. And yes, I realize that my position is way more likely to take me away completely, and for longer periods of time, but while I'm actually here and steadily on base, I just... I don't want to waste moments that we could have. I want to come home and find you've burned the cheese on top of the lasagna--"
Obi-wan scoffed, "That was one time!"
"You know you're not a good cook, babe."
Obi-wan laughed genuinely, "Fine."
"But don't interrupt me!"
"Yes, sir, commander, sir."
Cody sighed again—nothing but fond. "I want to have you there every night, whether I have to cook, or we get a takeaway from your favorite Chinese restaurant. I want to go to bed with you every night and wake up in the middle of the night to pull the blankets back over because you've hogged them all again." Obi-wan laughed. "And then wake up every morning with you right beside me because seeing you there and knowing that you do love me—since I know that now—that's how I can make it through my day." Obi-Wan was perilously close to crying, but he was bravely holding it together. "And I-- I know this is a lot to ask. Your job is right there, Anakin, Padmé and the kids are right there. I know your commute wouldn't be much fun, but would you consider moving in with a random guy you picked up at the airport?"
Oh. OH.
Obi-wan laughed and let out a small sob simultaneously (he couldn't stop the tears after all). "I believe it was you who picked me up."
"I can't believe that's your response,” Cody huffed a laugh. “Wait, yes I can."
Obi-wan was quiet another moment. "You're a sap, Commander Fett, you know that?" The low chuckle on the other end of the line sent another jolt of warmth to his chest. “I wish I was with you right now,” he added softly.
“I wish you were, too.” Now it was Cody’s turn to remain quiet. “Can you-- that is, I know I’m asking a lot tonight, but--”
“Can I be there soon?” Obi-Wan finished the question for him. He smiled, feeling practically giddy.
“Yes,” Cody breathed out. Then more seriously: “I need you.”
Obi-Wan sucked in a breath, trying hard not to give away how much those words affected him. “Place an order at my favorite Chinese place, and I’ll pick it up on my way in.”
“You’ve got a deal.”
----
Cody watched Obi-Wan as he used his chopsticks to pick at the Kung Pao chicken left in the carton. He was a very competent chopsticks-user, and it drove Cody crazy—mostly because he never could quite get the hang of it himself.
It was getting close to 9pm and he still couldn’t quite believe he had actually driven over. And picked up a very late dinner on his way in.
He wiggled his feet where they rested in Obi-Wan’s lap. He had laid down while Obi-Wan finished his dinner, stretching out across the couch. He wasn’t thrilled about eating in the living room, but he was just happy his boyfriend was here, so it didn’t matter where they ate.
Obi-Wan turned to look at him after taking another bite and chewing thoughtfully. “So… is this what you want?” He knew he wouldn’t avoid talking about it for long. That was mostly the reason why he was here anyway. Even if he joked about driving over just for the amazing Chinese food.
Cody furrowed his brow. “Well, now that you’re here and I can see how smug you’re being, I might change my mind.” Obi-Wan scoffed. But now he was finding it harder to say what he wanted to—it was so much easier on the phone.
Obi-Wan leaned forward and set the carton on the coffee table, wiped his mouth with a napkin, then took a long gulp of water. He sat back and turned slightly to face Cody, but still keeping his feet in his lap. He laid his hand on his ankles and ran his thumb back and forth across the exposed skin between the bottom of his sweatpants and the top of his socks. “I do love you.”
There was something so achingly gentle in the clear and simple way Obi-Wan said it. There were no strings attached, no ulterior motives, no waiting even for Cody to say it back. He loved hearing it in person even more than on the phone.
It had been so long since Cody had said those three words to anyone outside his family, but saying them to Obi-Wan felt right. “And I… I love you, too." He smiled softly and Obi-Wan’s eyes brightened. It was worth it to wait until he saw him in person to say it. He was now in danger of possibly loving Obi-Wan too much. “But to go back to your question—yes, this is absolutely, 100 percent what I want. I’ve been thinking about it for a while, and I know that in the grand scheme, an hour-ish isn’t a lot really...”
Obi-Wan chuckled. “But it can be—when you’re tired after work or really hungry. Or when you really ache for someone and you can’t wait to see them.” He stared very pointedly at Cody. “Well, in terms of the commute, I guess tomorrow morning can be a test for me—just to see what it’s actually like going into work from here since I have a 9:30 class.” Cody pushed himself up and leaned back on his hands.
“You’re really going to try it tomorrow? Even after getting here so late?” He didn’t have to go to the base tomorrow if he didn’t want to, and was rather hoping he could convince Obi-Wan to call in sick.
Obi-Wan raised an eyebrow. “Oh? And do you have a reason for me to not even try?” Cody sat up and shifted around until he was sitting on his knees in front of Obi-Wan.
“I could think of a few reasons…” He leaned forward and pressed a long warm kiss to his lips—he tasted delightfully sweet and spicy. Obi-Wan finally pushed gently at his shoulders.
“My dear, you’re trying to distract me from the conversation at hand,” he chuckled.
Cody smirked, eyes flicking from Obi-Wan’s eyes down to his lips. “Is it working?”
Obi-Wan slid his hands around Cody’s waist and slipped his hands under the hem of his shirt, lifting it slightly in search of warm skin. “Too well, you know that.”
Cody dove back in for a more heated kiss, pushing Obi-Wan back into the couch. He crawled closer and threw a leg across his lap until he was straddling his thighs. A moan escaped Cody’s lips as Obi-Wan grabbed at his hips, just barely keeping Cody from pressing in closer.
Obi-Wan pulled away, slightly breathless. “Okay, this was worth the drive.”
Cody smiled against his lips. “I can make it even more worth your while…”
“Then show me. I don’t have anywhere else to be.”
----
They had somehow made it to Cody’s bedroom, shedding every piece of clothing along the way. There was no way he was going to try and go in tomorrow morning—not now. He would simply have to get up early, post a reading assignment, and basically give his classes the day off. But he knew they wouldn’t mind. And it would certainly make Cody happy, and he loved to make Cody happy.
His head rested on Cody’s solid chest and he was running his fingers lightly back and forth across his collar bone. The only light in the room was the sliver of moonlight coming in through the blinds and the low kitchen light from downstairs. He was warm, content, and pleasantly tired—and very much in danger of going to sleep quickly. But good sex was also not the reason he drove all this way. “My dear…”
“Hmm?” He sounded half asleep himself.
“I very much want this, too.” He stopped stroking his chest for a moment just thinking about how he could potentially have this togetherness every night, rather than only some weekends. Cody turned his head and looked down at him even though he couldn’t quite see his face.
“You do?”
Obi-Wan chuckled and patted his chest lightly. “How could I not?” He knew his Seattle apartment would be very close quarters for two, and Cody couldn’t exactly move there anyway—not after having moved to the area to be near the base specifically. From a practicality standpoint, Cody’s house would be the wiser choice for them. But it was a lot further from work, and it was definitely further from his family—still not far, but no longer as close. He couldn’t easily pick up the twins if they needed him to, or if they needed to be dropped off with him for some reason. He would have to give it lots of thought. But he knew he cared a lot for Cody. He really did love him… and he wanted this to continue to work.
They still had only known each other for just six months.
But some people knew in six months, and for others, it would take six years.
"I just need a little time to really think through it all," Obi-Wan finally added.
Cody looked down at him and attempted to shift so he could see him better, "Of course! Yeah, obviously… I know it's not a light decision. Whatever time you need." Obi-Wan hummed and smiled.
"Good." He yawned and shifted closer, curling fully around his commander. "Now, I'm utterly spent. I must sleep." He leaned up and they kissed once more.
"Good night, babe."
"'Night, my darling."
----
Obi-Wan had wanted to stay in bed, to stay asleep curled up next to Cody, but once he got up to post the assignments, he couldn’t actually go back to sleep. He thought about going for a run to clear his head and properly think, but running was the worst, so he got dressed, made himself a cup of coffee, and wandered around the house instead.
It was still a bit sparsely decorated, but it felt homey and was very much Cody’s. As he looked around, he imagined his tea kettle sitting just there on the stove, his favorite throw (that Cody always liked to steal) laying across the back of the couch, and his books mingling with Cody’s on his bookshelf. Yes, he could imagine it quite well.
He would miss his porch with its amazing view, but Cody’s neighborhood was quaint and quiet with lovely views of its own. And he wouldn’t feel like he was taking his life in his hands so much if he rode his bike around the suburban area. And the house itself had so much more room in general—they wouldn’t be in each other’s hair, unless they wanted to be.
He was the most worried about the commute, but there were always other colleges and schools where he could teach, too… well, they could cross that bridge if they needed to.
What mattered the most was being there with Cody. He never expected they would move in together so quickly—he really had no expectations at all as they were still learning each other—but it did feel right. And he always trusted his gut. It hadn’t steered him wrong about Cody in the airport, it wouldn’t now.
As it got lighter outside, he found himself back in their room—technically, it was still only Cody’s, but as he became more and more enamored of the idea as the morning went on, he began to think of it as theirs. He sat in the armchair in the corner next to the windows, his knees pulled up to his chest, reading and drinking more coffee. He thought sure the smell would wake Cody, but he remained surprisingly asleep.
He was on his side, turned away from Obi-Wan, but that just meant he could admire his lovely back. He kept thinking that he never would have imagined himself here, in a relationship with someone again after so long. Especially not considering the way they met—Cody truly did change his life that day.
Cody finally stirred and turned over onto his back, waking slowly. Obi-Wan watched him as he went through the stages then realizing Obi-Wan wasn’t still there. He lifted his head and turned towards Obi-Wan, smiling sleepily when he finally made eye contact.
“I thought maybe you left,” he said, rubbing his hand across his eyes.
Obi-Wan smiled gently, “No, my dear. I wouldn’t leave without waking you.”
Cody smiled again and held out his hand. “Then come back to bed.”
Obi-Wan looked at his watch—it was almost 9am which was late for both of them. He finally stood and walked back over to the bed, taking his hand and looking down at him, “Are you going to sleep all day?” He looked down at Cody, who narrowed his eyes and grinned.
"Well, we don’t have to sleep…” He pulled on Obi-Wan’s hand until his knees hit the bed. “I take it you’re staying here today?” Obi-Wan nodded and crawled onto the bed, throwing one leg over Cody’s hips and settling onto his lap. Then he blinked several times and wrinkled his brow. “What… what are you wearing?”
Obi-Wan looked down at himself first then at Cody. “If you want me to move in with you, you’re going to have to get used to my very sexy morning looks, babe.” His pants were soft and black with a white geometric pattern on them, and he was wearing a light grey sweatshirt. He also wore his black-rimmed glasses, which Cody didn’t see often at all, and there wasn’t a single hair in place on top of his head. It was rather endearing.
Cody chuckled and ran his hands up his thighs until they settled on his hips. “It might be a bit of a hardship, but I think I could get used to it.” Obi-Wan leaned down and kissed him long and slow. When he pulled away, Cody licked his lips—they tasted of coffee and Obi-Wan. But then what Obi-Wan had said finally hit him and he looked up at his lover with wide eyes. “Wait, you… you are moving in?”
Obi-Wan nodded then moved off to lie back down next to him, snuggling in close like he had been before. “Unless you’ve had a change of heart?”
Cody wrapped his arm around him tightly and pulled him closer. “No! Don’t be ridiculous.”
“You sure you want my things taking up your space, sharing a dirty laundry hamper, or the possibility of burning more lasagna?” He tried not to laugh, but he did anyway.
Cody sighed fondly, “I do. I want that very much.”
(one more note... I saw this gifset, and that’s 100 PERCENT what Obi-Wan is wearing at the end! I couldn’t resist.)

Ok, I haven’t done this in a really long time, but uh... I’m working on some oneshots as a follow-up to A Handsome Stranger! So... six sentences. 👀
Cody held out his hand. “Then come back to bed.”

Needed Company
summary: After Umbara, Obi-Wan and Cody find themselves unable to sleep. Both men have different ways of coping, but sometimes coping together is better than coping alone.
characters/relationships: Obi-Wan Kenobi, Commander Cody, pre-relationship Obi-Wan/Cody
words: 2.4k
tags: pre-relationship, look at these idiots pining again, mutual pining, post-Umbara, light on the angst - just a dash, i tagged both relationship types, because it is both, and i didn’t want to trick anyone…if that makes sense, Jedi positive
a/n: I saw this tweet and ran with it - “underrated trope: when character a can’t sleep and character b finds them wandering or tinkering or painting and decides to keep them company”
Read it on a03
Obi-Wan strolled slowly down the quiet halls of the Negotiator, hands clasped behind his back, no destination in mind. The Force felt mostly still and calm surrounding the thousands of lives on board, and for that he was grateful. And as it was the middle of the night—such as that was flying through hyperspace—the quietness was to be expected. It still didn’t keep Obi-Wan from passing troopers and officers in the halls, but they were more scarce than during the day.
As he got closer to the training rooms, one Force signature he knew rather well was projecting a lot of hurt and that was concerning. He slowed his steps and finally heard grunts, thuds, and slaps which became louder and more insistent as he rounded the corner. It certainly wasn’t a strange noise to be coming out of the training room, but it was out of place in the wee hours of the morning.

i haven’t really written anything in a while, massive writer’s block, but i found a prompt i liked, so…here we are.
Prompt: The relief was temporary, but welcome while it lasted.
Cody ripped off his bucket and slumped against the side of the gunship, slipping down until his butt hit the dirt. The metal had been baking all day in the sun and the heat radiated through both his plastoid armor and blacks. He placed his helmet in the red dirt next to his thigh.
The battle was over. They could rest. For a minute anyway.
Exhale. Inhale. Long exhale. Another inhale.
Sweat rolled from his hairline, over his brow then dripped from an eyelash. He blinked two, three times then rubbed his gloved hand across his forehead. He was starving and also probably dehydrated.
His side throbbed as he watched the medic, Cross, tend to some of the worst injuries. He could be seen last. Zero dead. It could have been so much worse. It had been, many times.
He pulled away from the side of the gunship, the metal finally too hot to lean against. He bent over and rested his forearms on his thighs and took off his gloves. He reached down between his knees and drew circles in the sand. He should be up. He should be helping. He should be looking for the general.
But he was tired. So tired.
Surely no one could begrudge him a moment’s rest?
He looked over to his left and found Waxer and Boil side-by-side propped up against a supply crate, eyes closed and heads together. To his right, Wooley and Crys laid flat out on the ground, laughing. Cross moved again to kneel next to a shiny who still only had a number. 6374, he thought idly as he dragged his hand across the dirt.
Inhale. Exhale. Inhale.
“Water, sir?” Cody looked up to find one of the shinies standing over him, a canteen in an outstretched hand. His armor was still all white with not a drop of gold to be found. His bucket was off revealing an unblemished face—exactly like his own and yet not. His own face hadn’t been that smooth and unscarred in some time.
Cody nodded a thanks and took it from his hand, greedily gulping down the lukewarm contents. He sighed with relief then wiped his mouth across his armored forearm.
He leaned back again, not caring that the steel was still so hot. When he closed his eyes and listened, his other senses became sharper and more attuned to all the lives around him. Zero dead. Relief, even if only temporarily. A gift from the gods. Cause for celebration.
