When it comes to your doctor who companions who a) didn't join up with the doctor voluntarily and b) never go home. There's something uniquely sad (not worse, just different) about Steven's situation to me. Nyssa can't go home bcos her planet was destroyed. Victoria lost all her loved ones in evil of the daleks so even if she'd been able to go home it's not as if she'd ever be able to go back to her old life.

Meanwhile Steven, presumably, has an intact home and family waiting for him. The only reason he can't go home is the Doctor's inability to direct the TARDIS. Honestly the doctor is very lucky Steven had already given up hope of ever going home before they met else he'd probably be absolutely furious.

it's kinda difficult to talk about "cozy games" because that's an aesthetic and not a genre so its very broad, is it cozy to de clutter an apartment or go on a hike, is it cozy to be action packed or melodramatic or blithely unconfrontational, etc. but I think it's accurate to say that coziness is one of many shorthands that have been developed as an attempt to opt out of ideology, be about nothing. of course with a game made to evoke comfort comes a proclamation of what the author's society considers comfy

Endalwe and Nocmos going to a party :)

Nocmos is generally more well-versed when it comes to beauty and style – she wields her pretty privilege like a weapon and knows how to look good when the circumstances call for it. Endalwe doesn't care much about her own appearance and wasn't born beautiful by Altmer standards either – I think freckles, rare but uncanny grey eyes and soft, human-like features would be undesirable for her race... Nocmos helps her look presentable sometimes

I went to this Northwest Passage museum once where they had the white explorers' journals on one side of the exhibit and the native people's accounts on the other side of the exhibit and the explorer journals were like "our canoe had almost sunk when we encountered some kindly Indians" and the native histories were like "we watched a bunch of strangers come down the river in the shittiest canoe you'd ever seen. Also, they had no rain gear"
