🎯🐌 J U N J I I T O 🐌🎯 . . Had to do a portrait of my favourite horror mangaka and cat aficionado, Junji Ito. Have you even truly experienced horror fiction if you haven't read a Junji Ito comic? Uzamaki is probably his most famous work but I would recommend 'The Enigma of Amigara Fault' (which I think is in Gyo). His work is not easy to read some of it is so warped and twisted but if you like horror and like to feel uneasy and settled give him a shot. I drew an illustration of @phoebebridgers last night (swipe for full picture) because she's cool and inspired me to start writing a song again (which I haven't done for what feels like forever - although side note - @weareparissyndrome have a couple of songs we haven't released that we recorded...like 2 or 3 years ago now 😅 so hopefully we'll get on that soon). I think it's hilarious how people are having a go about her smashing a Danelectro on SNL. . . You know that Pete Townshend smashed over 35 guitars in 1967 alone, Keith Moon threw TV's out the window of hotels because they wouldn't answer his call ordering a cheese and pickle sandwich. He also put dynamite in a kick drum that left Pete Townshend deaf in one year. Maybe if she was a cis man in the Who no one would bat an eyelid. Also Danelectro guitars are pretty solid, that kind of stress test is surely a valuable research. . . Here's a quick witchy scrying sketch I did. I didn't use any reference for this. . . Thank you for all your support over the past few months, it's amazing and I feel overwhelmed by how lovely you all are 💖 my shop is entirely online so they only time I come into contact with anyone is at the post office. They're behind a plastic screen and I'm always masked and hand sanitised, so the new restrictions shouldn't affect my shop too much. My heart is with every small business owner who has to close physical premises and worry about keeping it going. . . I don't have a huge amount to say about the new tier restrictions, I know it's difficult, this was going to be the first year I saw my family in about 5 years back in april and I had to cancel that. I wasn't planning a visit over Christmas because I don't want to put my vulnerable grandparents in danger. I know some people aren't taking it seriously, one of my neighbours had a party on friday night and I was so angry about it. I also understand that for some people this may be the last Christmas they have with a very sick loved one. Everyone is angry and upset in all kinds of ways. I just hope we can maybe make some sacrifices this year to keep people safe. I hope you're ok and hey maybe we can just move the holidays to a post vaccinated safer time.
