FanExpo JaegerCon Meet-up!!!

FanExpo is this weekend, and since JaegerCon was such a blast, I wanna meet some of you rad people.  Also, Ron Perlman is going to be there so, like, Pacific Rim and everything.  Anyways, some details:

WHEN: Saturday August 24th 

(Now, we’re going to the screening of Almost Human at 7:00pm, so we could meet there and then hang out after, or meet up afterwards outside the screening room, Room 102 in the North Building, or outside the convention centre somewhere.)

WHY: Because yes.

Bingo Card Winner Update and Gift Exchange news

The Official DragonCon meetup!

PACIFIC RIM MEETUP AT DRAGON*CON OFFICIAL POST

Where: Hyatt - At the wall next to the Concierge desk.

When: Saturday at 2:30PM

Why: Because Pacific Rim is pretty much the best movie ever and we should all get together and geek out about it.

Cosplay? Not a necessary thing :) But feel free to come in costume! We will have a photographer there if you want to get some professional photos of your costumes! (deeperdreaming)

Hello! First of all, let me just say that Jaegercon was a brilliant idea and was executed beautifully. I was wondering if one of the organizers (or several, whatever works) could explain a bit about the process that went into making this awesome event a reality. As a fan, I'm really curious. Thanks in advance - and thanks for making Jaegercon such a cool, one-of-a-kind adventure.

It was really a very simple and fast job. I (flatbear, hello!) was literally leaving the house to go to work on July 28th and I said to myself 'Huh. K-day is in a few weeks. Jaegercon is a cool title. Maybe I should do something with that...'

I made a little post about it, and got a HUGE response. It was brought to my attention that exorin was planning some K-day festivities of her own, and not wanting to step on anyone's toes, I sent her a message asking if she wanted to join forces. She did indeed, and Jaegercon was born!

Through two weeks of frantic skyping, emailing, drawing and planning we (with the help of marchingjaybird and mary-stormborn) pulled this thing together at the last minute. I got in touch with Robert Maillet and Richard Rowntree through facebook which lead to the cast/crew interviews, and exorin pulled a stunning move and got Guillermo Del Toro for his introduction, and his interview.

Comic Envy provided the prizes that will be going out to our contest winners, dayofthedoodles and gregorydickens donated gorgeous prints and tshirts for our random giveaway winners, and everyone that participated filled the tags with the MOST INCREDIBLE creations I have ever seen.

This was truly a group effort, and that group is every single Pacific Rim fan we have encountered! Jaegercon 2014 is going to be AMAZING.

Any plans for doing a gift exchange or any other activities for Christmas/New Year's/Valentine's?

Singapore Jaegercon Meetup #2

Remember, tomorrow, Friday, August 16th, 5.30pm at Harbourfront MRT, at the Vivocity exit. I’ll be holding up a sign for people to find me with, and you can drop me an ask for my phone number. I’ll be hanging around for half an hour before going with whoever’s arrived.

We’ll find somewhere to sit down and yak about our current favourite movie, maybe share some theories or build headcanons. This may continue through to dinner if people are willing to stay.

No more IMAX showing at Pathé Quai d’Ivry, but it’s still in 3D in Gaumont Parnasse (never been to that theater) or the regular MK2 Bibliothèque & UGC les Halles etc…

When are you announcing the cosplay winners? How are they being judged and who by?

The cosplay winners will be announced THURSDAY! Each entry has been assigned a number, and winners will be chosen by a random number generator.

Special badges will be awarded to cosplays that the judges particularly loved, and said judges are your Jaegercon Organizers!
