As someone who remembers the deep lore of Toby Fox being an accomplished pianist who then struggled with his playing and composition because of physical disability in his hands preventing him from being able to play effectively and without severe pain (right around the time when he was scripting Deltarune, in fact)...

The whole narrative of Kris being unable to play while shackled to the soul and then immediately spending the 10 minutes they have free of it (after requisite plot scheming) to play a 8 minute medley of Toby Fox songs (which I'm pretty sure is just a straight up recording of Toby himself playing) feels pretty personally moving in a way that I'm surprised I haven't seen more people talking about. Like yeah, those little moments of frustration when the soul tries to play and just plonks in the keys, that hits, I bet.

biggest fandom pet peeve atm is people complaining about a popular headcanon they don't like BUT the headcanon is basically canon if you actually look at the media. every say to sunday a headcanon can be basically confirmed to be true and then some, and these people will ignore all the evidence of such, then complain that, actually it's everyone ELSE who is crazy. no, when those characters were heavily implied to have a romantic past several times spanning different mediums, they weren't ACTUALLY implied to have a past, you're delusional. no, when that character made their independence and identity CRYSTAL FUCKING CLEAR, it was an example of how they're actually dependent on someone else! no, when that piece of media emphasized a point and hammered all the way home and did everything shy of saying something verbatim in a way i like, they didn't do that because i don't like it !!

i said this in the tags but im gonna retype it here; it's fine if you dont like a piece of media, it's fine if you like a piece of media but don't like certain aspects of it. the problem is when you dislike huge aspects integral to the media you claim to like, then get mad at fans who actually enjoy those aspects. it's okay to like headcanons and au's over the source material, but you don't have the right to be mad at fans of a work because they like aspects and the overall story that you don't. you cannot in the same breath say that you hate a majority of story/storytelling elements and say youre also a fan. again, it's fine to not like something and it's fine to not like parts of something, it's not fine to be antagonistic towards the people who do like those aspects because you like the imaginary version of the story you made up by ignoring 75% of the actual story instead.
