A lot is going on in this map piece of Varon K'aii, the country where my novel Maxim takes place!

✨Nàmhiel is the only islands amongst all of those mini pieces of land that has a town. The legend of its founding is said to involve a female pirate!

✨Sailbrooke is a cozy little hamlet that is hidden behind a star-shaped fortress. The city is currnetly debating about how they should handle the barricade now that the war is over.

✨Summerside is the only port to the outside world, making it a prominent point of travel for the king. A bustling port city, the mayor has a huge focus on security and has her soldiers trained with the forces at Yukaih Castle before they work for her.

Today's map piece of Varon K'aii shows you what's on the other side of the Tundra Walk... Spierté! It's a city in a desert-like landscape that also houses the country's coliseum.

Every decade, the tribes of Varon K'aii hold a tournament between their best fighters. It's a terrifying setting that looks like a claw breaking through the earth. It's actually in this very place that Skylar and Xerus met when they were adolescents. Yes, on the battlefield!

If you noticed, the Nazuré tribe is also in these sandy mountains. That's where Skylar is from. Her people are incredibly peaceful and the most passive of all of the tribes, as they worship the goddess of peace, Essentia. -

The anniversary of my debut novel ✨Maxim✨ was on Saturday and I wanted to share the map of Varon K'aii with you! -

In chapter 1, we start in Yukaih Castle, which is stationed at the Goodlit Summit. It's in the north of the country, so it's a winter city surrounded by frigid temperatures and snowy mountains.

The only way the citizens can access it (for the time being) is by crossing the Tundra Walk. Its a giant ice rink that's rumored to be inhabited by monsters that thrive in the cold. There are soldiers stationed at either end to assist people making the trek, from politicians to townsfolk. -
