Sense of Self AU Pt 2.

Hey chat to all 2 people (ilu) who read the other Sense of Self AU I wrote (which tldr is just "what if bird protag was a character and not silent protag"), I have recently done some writing and realized an additional adjustment I'd like to make. Feel free to tap to keep reading, spoilers for Slay the Princess ahead.

So in the og game one of the endings (and my favorite ending) is the one where Bird and the Princess decide to just continue this loop so they can be together (which I believe is achieved by taking the knife to your final encounter with her and then just not killing her - and it's only possible to whisk her away if you don't take the knife? idk not super important just a note). SO. Naturally. I was thinking that the whole idea hinges on the Princess being a creature of perception, and the way that Bird perceives her directly impacting her own abilities and personalities and so forth. Comma. I think it's entirely possible for things to actually change during this reset based off the caveat that it is essentially Bird just giving the current Princess at that moment the ability to reshape the world to how she remembers it starting. It's entirely possible, additionally, for the princess to never learn about the voices. So what if when she reset everything, that's what ends up with Bird losing the voices and thus becoming a "real person" per se. I just think that tying it into an actual ending and making it a continuation of the original not only makes it more well-grounded as a concept but also it permits for really cool scenes that I like a lot where because it's all the way the Princess registered the world her memory erasure isn't quite perfect and both of them have this persistent familiarity with another. Love Story Bonus, if you will. Anyway that's all just a little ramble as I develop this one in my head. All because I wrote some fanfic for a secret santa thing. Might post it to AO3 after they are distributed because I am very happy with it. That is all. Thank you ilu <3
