This is so freaking funny, there are tears in my eyes XD

Okay, so picture this. SNL. Lex Luthor somehow is slated to host the show with like... Lady Gaga or some shit. Everyone's really curious to see how he does as a host because there are plenty of little clips sprinkled around Youtube about how not funny he is in interviews. Did he pay someone off? Did someone at NBC offer the hosting gig just for the chaos? We'll never know.

Anyways, Lex Luthor goes on to have one of the worst episodes in recent memory. He comes off so stiff when reading from the cards and Cecily Strong is trying so fucking hard not to laugh at how awkward it is.

One clip of him that has been clipped and circled around, a foundational clip in internet lore, is one of Lex Luthor standing with a military-like posture in front of the NBC camera. He gestures to the stage,

"Ladies and Gentleman... Ga-ga."

It's a simple phrase. But the way he says it, with thunder behind every vowel and bared teeth, has been archived forever and traveled from Vine all the way through to modern TikTok. It's the kind of meme that's had a few resurgences throughout the years.

It got bad to the point where Lex spent most of the summer out of the country in Europe keeping his head down. That is also the summer that Clark takes Lois on a long and needed vacation.

That next winter, after the holidays, Bruce Wayne is slated to host with Fall Out Boy or some shit. He ends up hosting the last episode before the show breaks for the season.

Everyone loves him. He is lovely to the whole cast. His inner theater kid comes out and he takes the whole week of his hosting duties seriously.

The best sketch of the night revolves around a trip to some high-end salon where Raul (Bruce with a thin pencil mustache, tight pants, and a silk button-up shirt with his hair slicked straight back) does the exact opposite of whatever any of the female castmates' characters ask for. The wigs are gaudy and it got the laughs. Bruce almost breaks character.

He goes on to do a caricature of himself on Weekend Update with a satin robe and smoking pipe. It makes Seth Meyers catch the giggles while Bruce keeps a straight face the whole time.

Blessedly, the Bat-related sketches that made it to air were tame compared to the ones pitched and rehearsed. Bruce couldn't take it seriously and kept breaking character to the point where they couldn't run through the sketches with Batman even once.

Instead, Batman (Jason Sudeikis), Lex Luthor (an eager Bill Hader) and Bruce Wayne all end up on Weekend Update. Lex Luthor interrupts Bruce in the middle of answering a question from Seth Meyers, desperately getting advice on how to get Superman to notice him.

It's the only time that Bruce breaks character and laughs.

Anyways, it's one of the most loved episodes of modern SNL. His sketches get featured in those little articles that rank the show's hosts. Not only did he become friendly with a lot of the cast and Lorne himself, he's one more show away from ending up in the 5-timers club.

IMMEDIATELY integrating this into my beliefs out of sheer hilarity, the weird amount of sense it makes, and also my brain going 'hroo hraa man! yayyyy!'

Headcanon:

Scarecrow is the most left-wing, progressive, banner-waving, protest-marching rogue in Gotham.

Why?

Because fears rooted in systemic abuses of power are boring.

He wants something juicy. He wants a fear rooted in a personal insecurity that cuts deep into an individual’s fragile psyche.

He doesn’t want every minority’s biggest fear to be the cops. That’s BORING.

He gets so upset when people’s biggest fears are being outed. He hates bigots because they make fears predictable.

So every time there’s a petition, every time there’s a protest, every time Gotham’s streets get closed for another march, Scarecrow’s there.

He’s handing out water bottles and sunscreen, he’s reminding everyone what the hashtags are, he’s coordinating with Red Hood’s goons to hold back the police presence and keep the protests peaceful.

Then he’s going back to his crazy lab to design a toxin that will obliterate the sanity of every single person in Gotham, and so help the city if someone hallucinates their transphobic uncle again.

Just hear me out on this; I'm absolutely certain that part of Bruce's Around The World Teenage Training Montage included training in childcare.

I mean-- we know that he studied medicine, both modern ideas and more metaphysical ones. We know that he studied psychology, both his own and how to use it against his enemies. Hell, we even know that he studied with Giovanni Zatara and learned Houdini-Style escape arts (and some information on fighting magic, but whatever). So, especially considering that the entire origin of his mission was to make sure that no child ever had to suffer the pain he did ever again, why on Earth wouldn't he study childcare?

So yeah-- Batman is a trained midwife, he can tie almost every single style of baby wrapping known to man, and he can silence a crying infant with no trouble at all.

He's well versed in Montessori techniques, always carries candy in his utility belt for the children he finds on the job (candy which, of course, he makes himself and infuses with extra vitamins because he's an overachiever [note-- Dick was 23 when he found out that his childhood patrol candy was full of vegetables and he was FURIOUS]), and keeps every single crayon drawing a kid has ever made for him.

He's excellent at deescalating teenage angst, helping runaways and abuse victims, making sure than when he catches them stealing or graffiting a wall or something it's the last time he does; not just because he scares the shit out of them, but because he gives them the support and resources to overcome their problems at the source.

(Of course, that just means it's all the more painful when he's not quite able to do the same thing for his own kids when they're struggling and angry and hurt, because they know his playbook and only get more angry when they realize what he's doing-- because they don't want Batman to help them, they want Bruce, and Bruce doesn't know quite how to do that... But that's for another, angstier post...)

And another thing-- of course, being Batman, no one other than the immediate Batfam knows about this little trove of hidden knowledge. So usually, when the JLA encounters a kid in the field they hand them off to Clark or Diana or maybe even J'onn or Barry depending on the circumstances, because obviously Batman wouldn't be good at helping the kid-- until the one time he's the only one available for whatever reason.

He does his thing, and after the kid is totally calm and safe, Bruce just hands them off to emergency services like nothing happened and immediately goes back to... You know, being Batman, and refuses to answer any questions on it.

I could go on about this forever but. Batman with kids, guys ☹️

The Riddler would be the most annoying person when it comes to Wordle. I don't think he's ever failed, he always gets it in like two or three. He will tell no one what his starting word is. He is also an absolute god at Connections and makes the longest, stupidest words in Letterboxd. Everyone in Arkham hates him for it. Mad Hatter got a better time than him on the Mini once and no one will ever let him forget it.
