Not the best picture, but I did the thing.
Just got my bread loaf out of the oven; it had to rise for a good 8 hours. Second time I've made it while my roommates happen to be gone for the weekend, so it's just me to eat it all.
@jet-engine - It's getting late so it made me think of you.

Looks good! Makes me wanna pull out my grandmother's bun recipe, as those take a long time to raise, too. The problem is that I'd have to keep the oven on for a few hours, and it's ridiculously hot and humid where I am. I'm thinking about making her pizzelles instead.

All morning, I was grumpy and on-edge. Then I got to work and started prepping dough and putting sweets in the oven and...I was fine? I had nothing stressful/out of the ordinary planned for today. My period isn't due or currently happening. I was just...really pissed off for no reason? And then I wasn't? I guess I just needed to immerse myself in the dough?

there should be an episode of Phineas and Ferb where Doof wants to take OWCA to court for entrapment specifically because they're making him fight a platypus, a species protected by law. and Perry just kinda raised a brow and goes with it because he wants to know how this plays out / he's playing a game of chicken with Monogram because he wants. like. better vacation time or paid sick leaves or something
Doof is fully aware that Perry is Letting This Happen. i dont know i think it could be really funny

So...
Phineas and Ferb has a fifth season. This reminded me how much I love the show and...now I have this even though there are two other fics I should be working on. 😑
"A Platypus in a Fedora" is the story of Heinz's casual curiosity about platypuses leading to him uncovering a conspiracy involving OWCA. When Perry learns of this, he is horrified beyond words. Then something happens to an agent he knows well that sends him spiraling into a pit of despair that Heinz can't seem to drag him out of.
A large chunk of the first chapter is just Heinz ranting about cheese.

I'm so glad I'm not working today or tomorrow. It's supposed to be, like, a hundred degrees outside with agony levels of humidity both days. I work in a hot kitchen, and my station is directly in front of a walk-in oven. I don't normally notice because I'm so used to it, but I was dying yesterday, when it was also stupidly hot and humid outside. Today and tomorrow, I'm just gonna chill in the air conditioning.😊

"Road Kill" is a one-shot and the 35th part of "Phriendly Phantoms." In it, a stray cat gets killed, and Danny and the gang ensure that the cat's kittens are taken somewhere safe. Little do they know that Mama will be back very soon...

Today, I present a silly little thing in the form of the 34th part of "Phriendly Phantoms." "Mistaken Identity" is about Star and Kwan coming to the conclusion that Danny Phantom's girlfriend is cheating on him with Danny Fenton. Hilarity ensues.

I just love that this exists. It's an adult parody of Danny Phantom starring a Vlad expy and centered around the episode "Eye for an Eye." It's a slow burn, but it's really good. Btw, I laughed way too hard when I discovered that the author and I both named the Box Ghost "Lawrence."

The oven works, and we all feel incredibly dumb.
As it turns out, there is a breaker in an easily accessible panel on the outside of the oven. Somehow, it got flipped and that's why the oven wasn't heating.
Why did none of us know about this?
I need to talk about the oven at work. It's been "fixed," like, ten times in the past month, but this time they have to fix it for real.
It was going strong for about two weeks, and I thought we were in the clear. Then there I was at my little prep table, doing my thing. I turned around to see how much time was left on the baked goods in the oven.
The set temp was 350 (this is in Fahrenheit, btw). The temp in the oven read 319.
Okay. That's a problem, but this is what it was doing before. All I have to do is turn it off and turn it back, and it'll slowly start to climb back up. The manager happens to be passing by. I inform him that the oven is doing The Thing again, and he goes off to tell whoever. All is well.
Or, so I thought until the temp continued to drop. 306. 280. Staying around 280 for a while.
Guys, there were a couple dozen cookies in there. And, some muffins. I had to pull out the cookies before the muffins. I just timed it and pulled the cookies out as fast I cook to keep as much heat in the oven as possible so the muffins could finish baking.
The manager saw the problem, made an "oh shit" face, and told me to do my best while he went off to tell whoever the gravity of the situation.
I hadn't baked a single bagel or loaf of bread yet. And, I knew that when I steamed that dough, the temp was gonna drop even more. And, I knew it wouldn't climb back up this time.
In maybe half an hour, the temp had dropped from 350 to 262. I knew it was hopeless, and the manager reluctantly agreed.
I pulled all the dough out of the proofer and stuck it in the cooler. The manager said they would (hopefully) bake it all before we opened in the morning. And, that they would save the leftovers and collect the leftovers from nearby Paneras for the next day. I ended up going home early because after putting the finishing touches on the pastries (which I was able to bake all of) and cleaning up, there was really nothing left for me to do.
I had never been so happy to have the next two days off. Pray for me that the oven works on Wednesday.🙏🍞

I've read so many stories about Danny getting summoned by cultists or whoever that I wanted a piece of that pie. So, here's a one-shot titled, "Angel's Lament."
Trigger Warning: cult activities, murder, panic attacks, and Danny losing his shit. Not necessarily in that order.
