Ever since you met Leo Valdez, you hated him. When he and his two friends arrived at camp, he was the first to get claimed and so you were given the task of showing him around camp. Not too bad, right? 

Wrong. As you walked him around camp, you clenched your jaw in annoyance since all he seemed to be capable of doing was making jokes

You weren’t a super serious person, but there was a time and place for jokes and it definitely wasn’t now, with Percy Jackson missing and rumours of the great prophecy starting being passed around camp

Overall, life sucked at that moment and his insensitivity wasn’t making you feel any better. You knew he didn’t know any better, but you still couldn’t help but be upset. Once you dropped him off at Cabin 9, you breathed a sigh of relief, glad to never have to see him again

You were, of course, wrong. The Fates clearly enjoyed winding you up, since they had decided to make you part of a quest with none other than Valdez himself (as well as Jason and Piper)

The quest went well. You got to know the three demigods more and became really good friends with Jason and Piper. Leo, however, not so much. He insisted on annoying you and getting under your skin whenever he got the chance, and no matter how much you tried avoiding him, nothing would work

When you got back to camp, you planned to keep your distance from him. Just because you were part of the eight demigods from the great prophecy, didn’t mean you had to be around Valdez

Instead, you chose to stick to lovely Annabeth, who was learning as much as she could about Roman mythology for your trip to Camp Jupiter

scenario one: an affinity for machines

“Y/N, you like mechanics, don’t you?” Annabeth had asked you when you walked into Cabin 6 one day. You did like mechanics. It was something not a lot of people knew about you, since you weren’t a Hephaestus kid, but you’ve always had an affinity for machines

Sitting on her bed, you replied, “yeah, why?” 

If you could go back and change your answer, you would. Putting her book down, Annabeth said, “could you go help Leo with the ship? I think there’s something up with it but he’s too stubborn to tell any of us, and you’re the only one who’d be able to tell just by looking at it.”

Begrudgingly, you got up and left, heading for Bunker 9. If anyone other than Annabeth had asked you, you would’ve disagreed, but you didn’t want to put her through any more stress

You knocked on the door of Bunker 9. No answer. Maybe this was your lucky day. Just as you were about turn away, the door opened, revealing the bane of your existence himself

“Hey Y/N, what’re you doing here?” He asked. Your eyebrows furrowed at the tone of his voice. Usually, it was teasing and made you want to rip your hair out. Today, it seemed almost sad

Letting yourself in, you said, “Annabeth thinks there’s something wrong with your ship, so I’m here to check,” you made your way to the incomplete ship, despite his protests

All it took for you to notice what was wrong was one single look. The issue was really minor, and you were surprised Leo hadn’t noticed it earlier. You grabbed a nearby screwdriver and began working, unaware of Leo’s watchful eyes pinned on you

“Okay, try it now,” you said, stepping back. Leo tried the mechanism, and it worked

He grinned, clearly relieved, “thanks a lot, Y/N, I was really worried I’d disappoint everyone,” The last part he mumbled to himself, but you heard it. You never pinned Leo for the type to care about other people’s opinions. If he cared about other people’s opinions, he would’ve left you alone a long time ago

“You won’t disappoint anyone, Leo, stop saying dumb things. You’re not perfect, none of us are, that’s why the prophecy says there are eight of us and not just one.”

Ever since that day, Leo got less irritating, and you found yourself gravitating towards him more. You’d forgotten how much you enjoyed working with machines until you helped him fix the ship, and as the two of you continued to work together on the Argo II, you got closer

When Gaia had taken over Leo’s body and made him fire on Camp Jupiter, you were the first person to defend him, telling the others he’d do no such thing consciously

And when you happened to have a particularly bad nightmare, Leo was the first person you went to for comfort. He’d whisper comforting words in your ears, sometimes in English, sometimes in Spanish, and tell you stories about his days before camp to make you feel better

Tonight was one of those nights

scenario two: that way

You sniffled as you lay on Leo’s bed. The boy in question sat at his desk, tinkering with a piece of metal. When you showed up at his door, he claimed he hadn’t been sleeping anyway, but you were starting to doubt that. Still, he insisted he was fine

“It’s just that Annabeth and Percy have been my best friends for years,” you said, your voice a tell-tale sign that you’d been crying, “and now they’re stuck in Tartarus and I can’t do anything about it.” 

Leo turned to look at you, and his heart ached at the sight of your eyes starting to well up with tears again, “it’ll be okay, I promise. They’re two of the strongest people I’ve ever met, if any two people could survive Tartarus, it’d definitely be Annabeth and Percy”

He made his way over to where you were sitting and started gently stroking your back as you leaned your head on his shoulder, “thanks Leo, you’re the best,” you said

When you received no reply, you looked up at him, confused, “are you alright?” 

“Y/N, do you like me? As more than a friend, because friends don’t do stuff like this,” he asked, shocking you. The truth was you did like him, but you were too shy to tell him. All those days spent side-by-side made you grow really fond of him. You nodded

“I like you too, Y/N.”

You started dating that same night. You didn’t want any more confusion, especially since your lifespan as demigods was pretty short

Leo’s such a sweet boyfriend. He’d do anything to make sure you’re living life as the angel you are. His love languages are acts of service and gift giving so best believe he’s making random things just to make your life more comfortable (Check @/relatable_laura’s hubby home improvements folder on tiktok. That’s basically what Leo does for you)

He LOVES wearing t-shirts like the ones I put at the top of this post (tshirt is linked below dw xx). At first, he bought them as a joke but eventually he got known for them in camp and began wearing them all the time

You actually gifted him the “big dick is back in town” one and he wears it religiously. The best compliment he’s ever received

Leo also teaches you morse code, and once you finally get the hang of it you guys are tapping messages to each other all the time 

A lot of the time it’s really random stuff like “I’m craving pizza right now” and you just do it because you like having a language that’s just spoken between the two of you

You spend so much time in Bunker 9 people have started joking about it being the 21st cabin: the Leo and Y/N cabin 

Leo talks about you a lot. Whenever a new demigod arrives and he happens to be in charge of them, he’s always talking about you. It’s worse if they’re one of his siblings, since he insists they must know everything about their sister-in-law 

You’re literally his media naranja: the other half of his orange, his better half (I’m not Spanish speaking so please correct me if I’m wrong on this!!! I’ve always loved this metaphor though so I had to put in here)

scenario three: louis vuitton

“I have a very special surprise for you,” Leo said as he walked into your cabin, hands behind his back. You smiled when you saw him - he always managed to make your days better just by being there

“Close your eyes and put your hands out,” you did as you were told, your smile growing in size. When he told you to open them, you did, and found a gold necklace with the letters L and V dangling off of it

“Oh my Gods, Leo! You got me a Louis Vuitton necklace? I can’t believe it!” You fought the urge to laugh as you watched his facial expression go from pride to disappointment

He grabbed the necklace from your hands, pouting as he looked down at it and realised he shared initials with the renowned company, “no, baby, this isn’t Louis Vuitton, it’s Leo Valdez, it’s so much better, trust me. Turn around so I can put it on you.”

You turned, still giggling, and he did the clasp of the necklace. It was a perfect fit. You went to look in a mirror and gasped when you saw it in the reflection, “Leo, this is so beautiful,” you mumbled. On your chest, it sparkled with the love you and Leo shared

You’d wear this necklace for the rest of your life. Not because he owns you, but because he really knows you. (I had to guys)

This man is so respectful and considerate and just really wonderful. He feels too good to be true! Which is why you don’t let yourself fall for him at first. He’s literally the most perfect guy you’ve ever met

Meanwhile, Jason’s thinking the same about you. To him, you’re a breath of fresh air from all the rigidness and strict lines he’s been forced into not only as a Roman but as a son of Jupiter. Why would you want to be stuck with someone as boring as him?

So you just spent your days longingly gazing at each other when the other wasn’t looking while also avoiding each other in public spaces because both of you were slightly intimidated by the other’s (gorgeous) presence 

Your first proper interaction must’ve been orchestrated by Hera and Aphrodite themselves considering how adamant you two were on being 6ft apart at all times, and surprisingly, it was in the mortal world

scenario one: bookworm

You were spending the day at your favourite library because you missed it and liked to pretend your life was normal by blending in with mortals, and also because you had studying you needed to do since quests left ample time for schoolwork

Jason was there because he’d been cooped up at camp for as long as he could remember and wanted to see what life away from the Gods and their schemes was like, and what better place to figure that out than a library?

You breathed a sigh of relief as you finally finished the essay you’d been working on since you arrived at the library. It had been weighing on your mind for days but you couldn’t find time for it until today. As a reward for your hard work, you decided to get yourself a sweet treat before continuing your studies

Haphazardly packing your stuff, you quickly got up, practically drooling at the thought of the new menu item you were finally going to try after craving for weeks

You were a little too excited. As you turned, you bumped into someone, dropping some of your papers

“Gods, I’m so sorry,” the person you bumped into said, quickly bending down to gather all your stuff

You knew that voice. You could recognise it anywhere

“Jason? What’re you doing here?” You said, suddenly feeling awfully hot for no particular reason

That was the day you really befriended Jason Grace. He decided to accompany you to the cafe you planned to go to, paid for your order (don't ask how he had mortal currency on him) (it's because he has a mortal currency collection) (yes he lost some of his collection paying for your order) and spent the rest of the day there with you. Away from all the craziness of demigod life, you and Jason finally got to truly know each other

After a while of getting closer, you two begin to date, and it might just be the most beautiful relationship known to man. The way Jason acted before you began dating was nothing compared to now. That was just the bare minimum

You literally never have to lift a finger around him as he insists on doing everything for you. He opens doors for you, pulls your chairs out and takes your coats off for you. If you’re on a quest and you need to sleep, he makes sure you always get the comfier place and takes first watch

He also always leaves you notes. Sometimes they’re notes of motivation, sometimes they’re small poems about how much he loves you and sometimes they’re just really random

Jason is a big fan of taking polaroid pictures with you. After Hera stripped him of his whole life, he’s always had a fear of waking up one day with the same feeling he had on that wilderness school bus, so he takes pictures with all the people he loves and keeps journals and has a box full of all the things that are important to him in case it happens

He keeps one particular polaroid of the two of you on his birthday, his hand around your waist as you plant a kiss on his cheek, in his wallet at all times to ensure his immediate remembrance of you if his memories get taken again

(As if he’d forget you in the first place. Hera would have to pry the memories of you out of his cold, dead hands)

Your siblings love him so much too! They were a little stressed at first because he’s a child of Zeus, the God notorious for breaking the hearts of his lovers and cheating on his eternal wife, but he showed up at your cabin door to pick you up for a date with a bouquet of flowers for the cabin and then walked you back himself, staying outside until the very second the door was shut and now they love him

(Sometimes you think they love him more than you because they’re always asking about him)

You spend a lot of time at his cabin. He disguises it as just really wanting to spend time with you and while that is true, secretly it's also because the Zeus cabin gets super cold and lonely and is also kind of scary at night, even though he sleeps in the one space away from the gaze of his father

scenario two: daddy not-so-dearest

“Honey,” Jason says, wrapping an arm around your waist. The campfire sing along had ended which signified the end of the day, and all around you, campers were wishing their friends goodnight as they headed to their cabins. You suppressed a giggle, knowing exactly what Jason wanted from the tone of his voice

You hummed, giving your boyfriend a bleary-eyed smile as you waited for him to voice his request. It was cute how even though you’d done this many times before, he still got shy at the idea of you two sleeping in the same room, on the same bed

“Would you maybe wanna spend the night at my cabin? I missed you today, and I can’t even begin to imagine how hot it must be in your cabin, with all your siblings in it, y’know.”

“Are you asking because you missed me or because you’re scared of daddy dearest?” You quipped, unable to contain yourself as his face turned bright red

“I’m kidding, Jase, of course I’ll spend the night with you!”

Later on in your relationship, when he’s sure you’re the one for life, he shows you around New Rome. He grew up with a peaceful life in the city being the goal, so it only made sense for him to show you around

Jason loves the way you light up at everything around you. He’d known New Rome for his whole life and could draw a map of it blind, but you make it feel brand new

Is ecstatic when you tell him you also want to start a life with him in New Rome. The moment you utter those words he’s already signed papers for an apartment and is drawing punnett squares to figure out what your kids would look like

You know the part in The Notebook where the girl’s describing the house she wants? That’s what Jason showing you around New Rome reminds you of

Years later, you reminisce on the way you’d avoid each other as you tell your kids about your lives as teens in your lovely house in New Rome because he definitely did not die <3

scenario three: chez grace

"Jason, promise you won't walk me into some pillar - you guys have way too many of those in this city," you said, fighting the urge to tug off the blindfold Jason had insisted you put on

The aforementioned stifled a laugh, his hands on your shoulders as he guided you where he wanted you to go. He'd never let you get hurt; not by a monster, not by any of the gods and certainly not by a pillar in New Rome

After you discovered the city nestled within Camp Jupiter, and more specifically, the university that was in it, your plans for the future had changed drastically

Sure, growing up, you'd always wanted to go to one of the many prestigious universities America had to offer, but the longer you lived in the reality that was being a demigod, the more it hit you how impossible it would be for you to juggle higher education and monsters using you to get vengeance for something your godly parent did 50 centuries ago

New Rome offered a fresh start, a brand new try at something that was taken from you the moment it was fated for you to be a demigod: normalcy

Living within the borders of camp meant you wouldn't have to worry about all the crazy things happening outside of it, and New Rome University boasted a rigorous program and great facilities

When Jason found out, he was ecstatic. He'd been so worried you'd choose a university across the country, since it'd be closer to Camp Half-Blood. This was something he, for some strange reason, had never considered, and was better than any other scenario he could've conjured up

It was this ecstasy which had your lovely Jase signing an apartment lease the very next day. He couldn't have you living in some tiny dorm when he could be waking up to your beautiful face every day, making breakfast with you in the kitchen, listening to you sing in the shower as he studies... you get the point

Now that the apartment had been perfectly decorated by none other than Mr Grace himself, it was time for the grand reveal

"Okay sweetie, I'm gonna let go of you now, but just stay standing where you are," Jason said before fishing the keys to your apartment out of his pocket and unlocking the door

Hearing the click that signalled a door unlocking, a slight smile appeared on your lips - Jason has never been good at hiding things from you, so when he was oddly insistent about you not signing up for a dorm at university, you had a feeling he had something in store

Gently, Jason took the blindfold off you and you gasped when you saw the apartment. Somehow, Jason had decorated it to fit both your tastes perfectly, and you couldn't wait to make this house a home

"Oh my gods, Jase!" you squealed, wrapping your arms around his neck. Instantly, he melted into your embrace, "I take it this means you like it?"

"Like it is an understatement! I can't believe you did all this! This is gonna be the best year ever, I just know it."

Jason doesn't mind you being on your phone. He doesn’t understand those things at all. But he only knows you like recording little things through your day, talking to the camera— and you look cute doing it, too, so he never says anything against it.

So when you set your phone across from both of you on the bed, his head resting on your legs, he doesn't ask any questions. He simply keeps reading his book. Comfortable, relaxed.

Until you press record.

"Okay, so today I thought I'd show you this bracelet my current boyfriend got for me from his last trip." you show the camera your bracelet, grinning from ear to ear as if you don't know exactly what you're doing.

Jason pauses, his eyebrows furrowing in confusion. But since he's not sure he heard right, he simply keeps reading, not wanting to interrupt you.

But you, of course, do it again. "My current boyfriend Jason travels a lot, and this time he was gone for a really long time, so I missed him a lot."

He finally sets the book down, slightly sitting up to look at you with genuine concern in his eyes. "Sweetheart, why are you calling me that?"

You blink at him innocently. "Calling you what?"

"Current." He says it like it's even painful to say out loud. "You said it twice."

"But aren't you my current boyfriend?" You tilt your head. "I mean, you are my boyfriend currently, at this point in time."

Jason looks stunned to say the least, and even a little offended as he sighs, dropping his head back on your legs again. "See, it sounds like i'm just here on some kind of trial period while you find my replacement. I don't like it."

You can't help it, you finally laugh, but Jason doesn't seem to find it as funny as you do. "You call me current one more time, and I'm gonna propose just to prove a point."

That finally catches you off guard, your cheeks burning with heat. "And what point exactly will you try to prove?"

"That i'm here forever, if someone tries to come between that I'll just deal with him." He smirks at you, clearly enjoying making you flustered. "Simple."

"You can't just say that." You tell him, but now you're smiling brightly at him, your heart speeding up.

"Yes I can, I already planned even the color our house will be." He tells you matter-of-factly, then he turns his gaze to your phone still recording as if it had personally done something to him. "I'm here forever."

"Got a little too serious for a silly video." You tease him, trying to hide how much you're cheesing over his words.

"I'm always serious about you." Jason replies simply, like it's the only thing in the world he would never put in doubt.

That does it. Your breath catches. Your smile widens. "Jase."

He smiles at the way you say his name, then brings your hand to his lips to press a soft kiss against your knuckles. "Don't 'Jase' me, I'm telling the truth."

"You're so dramatic." You roll your eyes, but you can't stop smiling.

"And yours" He says without any hesitation, his fingers trailing along the edge of your bracelet. "And not just 'Currently', I'll marry you someday, got it?"

You open your mouth, then close it again, your cheeks burning and your heart almost jumping out of your chest as if it's trying to answer for you.

"Got it." You nod, leaning to press a kiss on his forehead.

Jason's smile softens, his blue eyes shine as he looks at you. "So about our future house colors..."

It takes him a while to realise he likes you and that all the things he’d do for you aren’t just because you’re his friend, but once it finally clicks, it's all he can think about 

From that moment, he becomes the ultimate loverboy

scenario one: colour theory

“Percy, what are you doing?” Annabeth asked, watching as Percy frantically sifted through his many blue t-shirts. Acknowledging her presence, Percy breathed a sigh of relief as he pulled two of them out of his closet and held them up next to his face.

“Gods, Annabeth, I’m so glad you’re here! Now, I’m about to go see Y/N at the beach and I need you to tell me which looks better with my eyes: the teal or the aqua.”

(They are one hex letter apart)

It's very endearing and he doesn’t even try to hide it! But of course, you’re the only person who doesn’t notice, thinking he just really wants to be your friend. Percy's this nice and friendly towards everyone, after all :)

He follows you around everywhere trying to find out more about you so he can plan the perfect first date

You’re an Apollo kid who works in the infirmary? Percy’s first in line for Will’s first aid summer course. You harvest strawberries with the Demeter and Dionysus kids? Percy’s there before everyone else with three wicker baskets on each arm

Eventually, you do end up becoming really good friends because he’s just always there and really fun to talk to and super nice and good with kids and maybe he’s a little cute, so what? You’re allowed to have cute friends! 

You would’ve been teetering the thin line between friends and dating for ages if it wasn’t for Annabeth, who devises a plan to get you alone and somehow managed to get the whole camp in on it

scenario two: tell them or i will

That’s how you both ended up at the beach: you with your hair styled in a way that makes Percy so flustered even the fish start to notice, and Percy with a note in his jean pocket that read, “tell them or I will - A” 

Turning to you, the corners of Percy’s mouth couldn’t help but lift as he watched you admire the way the waves lapped over the shore. That moment would be ingrained in his memory forever, because it was the moment he fully understood he had to have you

His nerves betray him

When you ask, “what’d you wanna tell me?” Instead of saying some heartfelt confession that’d make you swoon, Percy states a simple fact: “You’re my best friend.”

You looked up at him, confused before you saw the look on Percy's face. You knew what it was - he was in love, and so were you.

Once you start dating, you are practically attached at the hip. People didn't think you and Percy could physically get any closer than you were before, but they were wrong. Wherever you go, so does Percy and vice versa

Dating Percy means truly getting the best of both worlds because not only is he your boyfriend, he is also your best friend and someone you can lean on when needed

Loyalty is his fatal flaw so expect a concerning amount of loyalty. He would find ways to justify you murdering a whole family if he had to

However, what comes with loyalty is protectiveness and jealousy. He doesn’t get that jealous because he knows that you two were written in the stars by Aphrodite herself (his words, not mine), but he still can’t help but get a little jealous when he sees you with some other guy

Just kiss him a little and maybe stay the night at Cabin 3 and never speak to that guy again... and he’ll be fine

He inherited motherly traits from Sally. Percy's always checking you for cuts and scrapes after capture the flag, making you a lunchbox before quests and then insisting he goes with you to make you more food when needed and definitely not because he’s worried you won’t come back alive!

He knows you can handle yourself and all but he can’t help it. Out of everyone at camp, Percy’s your number one guy when it comes to dangerous quests

One of his biggest fears that kind of kept him distancing himself from you when he was crushing on you was that he didn’t want you sucked into all the dangers he goes through on a daily basis. He’d rather watch you date someone ‘safe’ from afar than put you in harm’s way 24/7

You’d choose him over a literal God though, so he has no choice but to be stuck with you

scenario three: stuck forever by the glue (oh, and you)

After a really bad quest, one where he almost died, Percy sat you down at his cabin for a talk. Part of him didn’t want to tell you what happened, but he knew it’d be unfair to you if you were left in the dark

“Look, I understand if you don’t want to stay with me. If it weren’t for Grover’s quick thinking, I don’t know what would’ve happened to me, and it’s not right for you to be stuck with a guy who’s basically friends with death. You deserve someone more sta–”

You shut him up with a heartfelt kiss. Eventually letting go, you replied, “Percy, when I agreed to date you, I didn’t just agree to all the good things, I agreed to the uglier parts of your life too. Sure, I was really worried while you were gone, but that’s just part of being a demigod, and it's a price I’m willing to pay for all the amazing moments we have together, so don’t even think about me leaving you.”

He introduces you to Sally and Paul as soon as humanly possible. They already know a strange amount about you considering you guys never met, but that’s just because Percy would rant to them about his crush on you on a daily basis

He's so incredibly happy watching you get along with his family. Seeing all of his favourite people gathered in one room makes Percy very emotional (he once full on ugly cried while trying to deliver a speech before Christmas dinner)

He also loves to see you interact with Estelle! Percy is a huge fan of kids so he can’t help but stare as you play peekaboo with his younger half-sister

Percy introduces you to the ocean and everything about it. You liked it before, as it was beautiful and reminded you of camp, but Percy painted it in a whole new light

He’d constantly take you on trips under the sea, using his Poseidon kid powers to allow you to be able to see and breathe underwater like he does

This also means lots of making out underwater. After that one time you two got caught kissing by the Stolls and suffered major consequences, he hasn’t been able to risk it

(The only downside to this is that sea animals gossip and gossip travels fast between them. Lets just say it didn't take long for you to meet none other than Poseidon himself)

Overall, dating Percy is very fun and your relationship never ever gets boring
