I forgot to feed my abstractions until they starved to death. My bad. I tried to flush their bodies down the toilet but they concretized in the pipes and now my tap water is full of crud.

An ant crosses your carpet. A spider weaves a pattern older than mammals beneath your stairs. Just nod, breathe, and think, “Good. It’s all still here. The forest, the mountains, the desert. At home in my home.” The sterile white box is the stranger. Not the ant. Not the spider.

The sigil was drawn in salt and ash, the candles lit at the pentagram points, the incantation declaimed.
There was a shimmer - a demon appeared.
"Curious. What ritual is this?"
"I got it from ChatGPT. I included all protections in my prompt!"
"I see," the demon said and stepped out of the sigil.

i think twice now i’ve held your phone scrolling through your anons getting more and more mad at people getting mad about magic i don’t know how you do it i think i would start pooping in my hand and throwing it like a chimpanzee if someone called buddhist reincarnation “magic bs”
There's a bit in The Fire Next Time where he talks a lot about Yakub. The speaker doesn't believe in Yakub, but he has a lot of empathy for the people who do, and works hard to understand where they're coming from. That's the attitude I try to take.
Like, people don't believe stuff because they're dumb. Worldviews are the result of complex material pressures and accidents of circumstance. I am also subject to material pressures and circumstances. There but by the grace of God go I.
But sometimes I will get an ask like a particularly rare bird, and ill show it to you in a diner like "duuuuuuude check this thing out" and you'll show me some interesting MSpaint fetish art, and our mutual understanding of the world's beauty will be deepened.

Listen, if you want to understand how emanations work, it's like this:
If you're an infinite thing like God, and you want to become a finite thing like the world, how do you go from infinite to finite? Answer: emanation.
You know when youre at a wedding, and there's a big pyramid of wine glasses? And they fill the wine glasses by pouring champagne into the top, so it overflows and then fills all the glasses beneath it? Imagine the wine bottle is infinite. That's God.
Each of the glasses is called a hypostasis. God can emanate through many hypostases to reach it's final emanation.
As for how many hypostases there are, and how they're arranged, that's the tricky one. Every religion has a different answer, and it's never simple.
