I love how Elriels wait until Emerie week, every year, to pretend they actually care about her.

You…only bring her up once a year, for one week, and it’s only to weaponize racism and homophobia in a very poor attempt to make us look bad.

Meanwhile, throughout the year, you shit on the Valkyries as a whole, including Emerie. Saying she has no personality, that her winning the BR and becoming Carynthian takes away from the bat boys victory, you pair her up with Gwyn because you don’t understand their dynamic at all and completely ignore the sisterly bond there, reducing Emerie to some girl to be paired off with Gwyn, etc. etc.

What sort of lunacy leads to a person thinking normal general public has access to hacking programs to get into servers as big as Meta and Tik Tok ? It just shows the amount of ignorance some people in this fandom have. Do you guys even understand the principles of how protection grading in these servers work ?

What are your Boys of Tommen opinions? I want to read it but all the snippets I've read of that Lizzie character make me wonder if the series is worth it. I hate cruel, rabid characters who go around making everyone else's lives a misery just because they're struggling and they get no accountability. Do you think it's worth it? Also apparently there's cheating which is even more gross

“Cruel rabid creatures” is…a choice lmao. As much as I dislike Lizzie, and as toxic as I think she is, I wouldn’t refer to her in that way.

These characters are just teenagers, and teenagers who have lived through some of the worst trauma imaginable.

All that to say, I have sympathy for Lizzie but she’s just not a character I can see myself liking. Same with Hughie.

I’d say outside of their drama, there are other extreme themes in these books that may be triggering and hard to read about. So it’s really a matter of what you, as an individual, are able to handle!

I personally loved the books because of the dynamics between certain characters and the overall message of surrounding yourself with people who love you and care very deeply and are willing to do anything possible to get you the help you need and rescue you from dark places. I also love the humor and the vibes that come from these characters and this story.

And to close, I will warn, a few of my friends and I had to take breaks while reading because of certain things that happen and are detailed in the books.

It’s definitely a “read at your own risk.”

Maybe because all of us are reading a book. And normally in books when a plot point is introduces then it has to explored and resolved otherwise the story won't be complete.

Not everyone has a parasocial, creepy, self-inserting relationship with a fictional character and they want a recycled dark broody guy trope. Most of us read and love a book and characters normally.

Totally unrelated to acotar, but

I can’t be the only one in the Avatar community who just loves the relationship between Lo’ak and Tsireya. Their whole dynamic just means so much to me and I don’t see many Avatar fans discussing it!

I know for a fact Bailey Bass is obsessed with them! It’s all she’s talked about when asked about Avatar 3! 😂💙

I think what absolutely pulls me in is the fact that Tsireya is the biggest sweetheart and Lo’ak is a bit guarded. He’s used to being scolded and told off. But Tsireya, who is true to the teachings she grew up with, is one of the only people who actually listens to him and hears him out. Even if his stance or his opinions are “untraditional.”

The whole “I see you” scene?? UGH

And Lo’ak longs for that connection with someone. And he’s found it with Tsireya and I can’t wait to get his point of view in 3 and really see their love bloom.
