Necronomicon, El Hazret isimli Arap bir gezgin tarafından M.S. 700’lü yıllarda Şam’da yazıldı.
Kitap gerçek bir büyü kitabı olarak kabul ediliyor.
Kitabın ünü ise gerçekten ürkütücü detaylar barındırmasından geliyor.
Arabın Kitabı, Ölülerin Çağrı Kitabı, Ölü İsimlerin Kitabı, Çıldırtan Kitap gibi farklı isimlerle anılan kitabın insanlara korkunç fikirler aşıladığı, karanlık gerçekleri ile okuyanları deliliğe ve hatta ölüme götürdüğüne inanılıyor.
El Hazret’in, yıllarca çöllerde aranıp, çok eski günlükleri bulması ve delirmesinden sonra kötü ruhlarla karşılaşmasını, insanların yeryüzüne gelmesinden önce yaşanan azothoth dönemini, ruhlar alemiyle nasıl iletişim kurulacağını ve ölülerin nasıl harekete geçirileceğini anlatır.
Necronomicon’un çıldırtması olayı da bildiğimiz delirmelerden biraz farklı. Bildiğimiz, inandığımız her şeyi reddetmesi ve gerçeklerin çok farklı ve belki de çok acımasız olması yüzünden okuyanlar şoka giriyor ve zihinlerine hapsoluyorlar.
