We stand with you! This is not right! “My entire life I was bullied and beat up. Way more than I’ve ever told anyone. I never realized that it was probably because the color of my skin just because I was Native American. We have a huge problem with racism and I pray we can turn things around for all of us! Please stay safe everyone!” ~ @tribalsamtwitch . "Pastel goth fashion is filled with color, and so is humanity. I stand with my Black brethren in ending police brutality and systemic racism in America. I am and always will be an ally. I am privileged due to the color of my skin while my friends are profiled by police and at risk of violence at the hands of racist cops. I was able to grow up in a white suburb with great schools while some of my friends grew up 20 minutes away in Detroit with no choice but to get into a charter school or face a public school system with an up to 25% dropout rate that was birthed from decades of systemic racist policies and racist economic oppression preventing our strong Black community from lifting themselves up and empowering future generations. I do not have to fear traffic stops aside from a ticket but for years have been hearing from my nonwhite friends their strategies for how to let the police know they are not a threat during routine traffic stops, and I am terrified for them. Happy birthday to me! This shoot was on a cold day in late December, just before New Years. I know I look pretty tall but I'm actually only 5ft 3.5in tall, or 161.29 cm. My weight is pretty low because of mast cell disease and my legs are long so I look a lot taller in photos. I really just want to talk about teacups. They're my coping mechanism during this pandemic. I love the ones that are tiny, delicate, fancy, pretty, and almost pointless. Ones that are small enough that they still pass for regular teacups but cant even hold much tea just melt my heart. When I was in college I took a class on hip hop where our professor hired a professional graffiti artist to teach us how to make graffiti under a bridge on campus. It was the first time I'd ever picked up a can of spray paint but I managed to make a perfect graffiti-fied version of my name. The graffiti artist complimented my work and asked if I had a lot of experience doing this, and i shocked him when I said I'd never done this in my life. What's your surprise hidden talent? . . I grew up in a very strict Roman Catholic household. I was enrolled in a very tiny Catholic private school until 6th grade and so I know quite a bit about Catholic traditions and rituals. I didn't know anything different until I went to a public middle school and had to learn to function socially in a class of over 200 kids, rather than a class of 20 kids. It was a rude awakening and I was bullied a lot but I'm grateful for who I've become. I don't follow organized religion now but I still love to look at fancy churches and love a Catholic aesthetic. この教会はきれいだったけど、入ってはいけなかったから中を見られなかった。残念uーu . . I’m jonesing for a summer rain right now. This umbrella is my favorite umbrella I’ve ever owned (obviously, its beautiful af). I bought it at the gift shop at the Detroit Institute of Art in February 2019. This art museum trip was actually the first time i went on an outing with my photographer, @tribalsamtwitch ! It was so much fun and we had pizza at the Jolly Pumpkin in Detroit Midtown after. A snowstorm hit while we were there and it took us over an hour to get home, luckily we made it home in one piece. . .
