Finally got around to designing her Queen's Knight AU outfit. The top two are my favorites, the other three are just there for funsies since I worked on them.

So design-wise following my sample size, femme Knights had more spot color, no white and a gold ribbon, while masc knights had white and a colored ribbon. I decided to shake it up since my character is technically nonbinary, but she would also not be the kind to eschew rules that seem dumb so the design is more fluid. You can see the Ferid and Georg design influences in it haha (most of referencing was Ferid, Georg, Miakis, and Concept!Sialeeds' outfits...) I wound up adding the "bolero" to help break up the tabards since it was looking a little more Jedi Knight than Queen's Knight haha.

Might do a layer by layer breakdown of the first one, since that's the one I'm leaning most towards, so we'll see.

Playing with the shadow form, since it’s basically a flux/non-Netwonian kinda of situation? The shadows seem almost non-solid, but if she interacts with physical things/touched it kind of does? These are also like really quick and intentionally messy sketches (like 10ish minutes or less) because they capture that vibe? (You can hold/touch her, but she can “evaporate” out of one’s grasp at will too.)

The dragon form is kind of a nod to her Modern self over at @obscurushydrae – Kar Hem is the youngest of Odgru Hem and is a deep sea dragon. So there’s a lot of inspiration from sea serpents, eastern-style dragons, and deep sea fish with the body form, which I followed through here.

The Kar-in-the-Jar was more inspired by cephalopods–octopi will squeeze themselves into things for safety and for fun– knowing her penchant for a little chaos, it wouldn’t be too out there if she’d abuse this ability to squeeze herself into places for fun/safety/for jobs.

The humanoid form is probably her most common form, I wanted to play with the whole constantly shifting hair thing, with a vaguely humanoid form (think Eris from that one Dreamworks Sinbad? I know she’s popular on here but not sure if everyone s familiar. Or Nyx from Hooked on Chthonics is a good design inspo.

Eldritch kitty was more a joke, but I think along with the squeezing herself into things, it could be cool to see take semi-fucked up animal forms. Cat, fox, etc. And blobfish was just because blobfish.

The last one I call Ghibli form, it was actually the warm-up piece, but I found it to be equal parts strange and charming and kept it in.
