She thought it was one of those Orvelian knights or anyone after her again but it’s just some squire explains why the propeller blade on her back isn’t spinning.

“I can’t take it off… yet.” As much as she’d want to remove it, nobody would want to see her hideous face behind it. “I have my reasons.” The tone she speaks was bit stiff but neutral on her movements.

     ‘mhmmm... all right! i’ll respect your decision.’ he shouldn’t keep pestering her about it, when the another party had declared their unwillingness to take it off. within her context, the word yet was applied, maybe one of these days, she might take it off then?

     still, it didn’t make him any less worried with orvel soldiers patrolling around every corner, he won’t blame them for being cautious around her. after all, everyone was doing their duty ‘til the fullest, for the sake of their families, and the peace of the kingdom. ‘since i’m free from my knight-in-training today, i can be your guide around here! perhaps i can put some good words for you to avoid suspicions from other knights?’

The squire did overdo on making fried scorpion now it looked like its in ashes. But oh well, can’t do anything about it. But the other ones seemed inedible while some were one, which is why scorpions are a good pick for those travelling in feet.

     ‘a-haha, um are you sure you’re gonna eat it? you might ended up having bad tummy ache-’ he’s accustomed to eating various weird dishes (raw or even overcooked) during his training adventure with his teacher so his tummy might even be considered an exception to this sort of failed recipe. she might look energetic all the time, bad food could still wear them down. ‘i can try hunt even more if you’re not into it-! we really don’t have to keep trying if it taste awful.‘

      trailing across the plains, the plains that used to be green was now corrupted with the essence of darkness, tainted previously by the cause of his mistake and the invasion of the demons. inevitably, the gloomy emotion filled up his heart, reminding him of the actions he’s done while being entrapped within his body.      no      it’s not the time for this, to avoid getting weighed down by the sins he carried, he must lift himself up to assure her, with a petite, slightly exhausted smile on his expression. if he couldn’t suppress this emotion, he’d ended up worrying her. ‘it’s must be have been a long journey for you too, we should take a rest.’ they hadn’t had any hearty meals ever since that day. ‘’

     the fishes were hard to come by recently... the older fisherman mumbled as they fished up the net they thrown into the sea a day ago. he could understand the hardship they’re facing yet, what could he do to solve this problem ahead of him? ‘if we could make a ship sailing far enough to the further part of the sea, maybe... there might be a chance?’

     ‘u-um... i think might have over-roasted that scorpion... it’s pretty much pitch black now-’ could it still even taste good? it’s been a while that they’ve spotted any animals/monsters nearby to make a good meal for today, guess, they might have to eat some burned foods for their dinner...

     he knew he shouldn’t butt into someone else’s matter but, it’s hard to let away that urge when she’s masked oddly in the public, orvelian knights would definitely take her away for interrogation, ‘u-um, your choice of mask would kind of drive people away from you... have you considered taking it off?’

— “You can’t sleep?” — Words came from the girls mouth, the single word again was about to get out and yet there was this brief silence the priestess could offer him. The sky above them all was a dark canvas, where the moon and the stars that usually decorated it were nowhere to be seen. No silver rays or illumination to guide their own path most that the light sources they could find. She, fingers crossed between them, entangled showing the nervousness of all the things that happened in a short amount of time. 

In fact, she couldn’t sleep either. The burden on their shoulders growing stronger everyday and the thoughts filling their minds enough to question things that normally they wouldn’t question was… something else. How many sleepless nights do they have to endure? Frey just took a spot nearby Kasel in the grass. Perhaps they would both get their minds out of their burdens by just having some time alone. // @kascl​ !!

     ‘f-frey?’ despite sounded a bit astonished by her sudden appearance, he resumed to his normal attitude as it wasn’t someone else other than his most trusted childhood friend, who had been going through ups and downs alongside with him. sitting around a hushed short turf, less likely to be interrupted by others in the meantime, didn’t this remind him of a childhood scenery where he approached a young girl who was constantly avoided by the others?

    tousling the hair at the back of his head, he offered a small awkward laugh in response. ‘aha...- i’m just sort of collecting my thoughts through the tasks we did throughout the journey. i guess being in situations that endangered lives everyday doesn’t fit well with you either, right?’ the constant skirmishes in this journey didn’t make one any less worries about their circumstances too. deep in his heart, he appreciated frey for constantly supporting alongside him, there came the question into his mind whether if he was able to offer her an absolute protection to prevent her from getting into danger.

     ‘you know frey... my wish is to protect everyone who is dear around me, but to where i am at the present, i don’t think i’m strong enough for that. for your safety... returning back to orvel city is still a choice too.’

     ‘b-but, i think roi will actually be worrying if you headed off alone without him knowing of your whereabouts.’ could he bring himself to lie against one of his comrades...? certainly it was no easy feat to deal with as he was not a good liar. roi was a keen observant, could he even manage to pull it off? ‘and i mean, wouldn’t it be more fun if you joined up with and visit around orvel city than going alone yourself? knowing roi... i guess quarrels between the two of you can be inevitable sometimes though-’

     ‘mhmm... that can’t be helped unfortunately.’ the current coast was clear. what awaited in front of them were animals that posed no threats to their safety, and even escaping away as soon as they detected the adventurers’ presence. it’s better than having breakfast in midst of hostile monsters should they not climb through that pipe from the previous area. ‘but think about it, at least no one would be interrupting us during our breakfast period, isn’t it a better exchange?’
