      trailing across the plains, the plains that used to be green was now corrupted with the essence of darkness, tainted previously by the cause of his mistake and the invasion of the demons. inevitably, the gloomy emotion filled up his heart, reminding him of the actions he’s done while being entrapped within his body.      no      it’s not the time for this, to avoid getting weighed down by the sins he carried, he must lift himself up to assure her, with a petite, slightly exhausted smile on his expression. if he couldn’t suppress this emotion, he’d ended up worrying her. ‘it’s must be have been a long journey for you too, we should take a rest.’ they hadn’t had any hearty meals ever since that day. ‘’

     the fishes were hard to come by recently... the older fisherman mumbled as they fished up the net they thrown into the sea a day ago. he could understand the hardship they’re facing yet, what could he do to solve this problem ahead of him? ‘if we could make a ship sailing far enough to the further part of the sea, maybe... there might be a chance?’

     ‘um... hello there, i assume you’re having some sort of trouble?’  a weird timing, yet favorable for them, what was that supposed to mean? he couldn’t help but attempted to shake off this uneasy feeling brewing within him, with how ominous that sounded to him. yet... as a knight-in-training, he couldn’t just leave people behind. the squire approached the human whose identity was not known to him with a perplexed expression, wondering what assistance did they actually required. ‘you can talk to me about it if that’s the case, i’ll do my best to lend you my aid.’

     it was a burdensome task. he never dreamed to be a savior, the person that could protect everyone. attempts of escape were brought up to his mind, regardless, he did not abandon the task bestowed by goddess lua, recognized as the owner by the holy sword aea. to prevent more people he cared getting injured or harmed, he had to, to preserve the happiness of the others around him, and to see them living peacefully. could he return this affection of hers without a promising future in front of them? he wasn’t certain either.

     his dumbfounded expression faded after a short moment, a moment of realization knowing what’d come next. a surge of happiness and embarrassment pasted within a mixture of his feeling, he gently held both of her hands, without a single word uttered from his lips. this worrisome journey would come to an end in certain point, unknowingly of the outcome. they are always be together, and he will always be her support. it’s together, until the day he’d protect her with his life, just like what his teacher did to him.

     ‘i can’t disagree with what you’ve said. while it’s good to remain hopeful, it’s hard to deny the ruthless reality that is laid out in front of us every day. maybe it’s not just people dying here, but somewhere else far away from our reach. we’re only human after all.’ everyone had capabilities of their own that was limited to certain extent, no one was able to face everything alone.       ‘that being said, i believe it’s a challenge for humanity to face this issue and move forward everyday. while goddess lua often offered us her blessing, we should still stand up on our own to face the daily trials that await us.’

     ‘oops- sorry for not leaving a note or anything in the house before i left, i have to make get some groceries done before the stores are going to close for today. feeling better after a nap? you’ve been somewhat unconscious earlier so- it’s hard to find the right timing to wake you up.’ maybe she’s overtired earlier that she fell unconscious? anyway, seeing her acting healthily at the moment, he believed she should be able to get back to her home easily.

     ‘kind people deserve a great ending that’s for sure! ... perhaps not for those who have attempted to murder someone else-’ calm down, kasel. your teacher always reminded you never to let revenge get better of you. not especially in front of frey. knowing her, she would worry about his case unceasingly if he continued to provide comments he wasn’t used to.

     the hardship they faced together since young, relying on and supporting each other, eventually reaching out for the goals they had on mind ー a knight-in-training and a priest. all the endurance from the past led to the happy results they achieved! clearly, if any one of them was in trouble, they would certainly help each other out. 

     with the unforeseen circumstance of being chosen by the holy sword aea, they were given an obligated task to gather every fraction of the holy sword power and defeat the demons behind the corruption scheme for dryads and other races. 

     ‘once we gathered all the power and bring peace to the land, i guess that’d be considered a happy ending. returning back to my own training. and frey, continue to follow goddess lua’s teaching. finding clause more often than we are able to. that would be my happiness as well.’ merely words of reassurance for himself... could he actually wield the holy sword’s power like king kyle did? he tried not to think about it. it’s never good to worry frey even more about his own circumstances.

     ‘let’s try and aim for that happy ending.’
