Kinkou - The God of Balance & Protector of the Multiverse (Character Info)

Likes:

Coffee, tea; Anything between a perfect blend of bitter and sweet

Japanese Noodles; Specifically yakisoba or traditional ramen

Hobbies:

Watching over the multiverse; It's his job, but he obviously enjoys it

Kenjutsu; One of Kinkou's main weapons are dual katanas. Either for fun or to train, he would be practicing in the meadow or occasionally in another universe.

Dislikes:

Obviously threats to the multiverse; He will not hesitate to act on this, and bring them to an end.

Food too sweet or too salty; Type of person to like a perfect blend in flavor in the things he eats, hence his name being "Balance"

Personality:

Chill and laid back; Like normal Sans, but not as lazy. He, for a god, is pretty chill to others.

Serious; Although he's usually chill, he will get serious when the time comes.

Observant; Kinkou is very observant, taking every little detail he can, especially with his enemies.

Shi - The God of Death (Character Info)

Likes:

Coffee; Specifically a hot cup of black coffee, dark roasted. Plain coffee with nothing else in it.

Food; Onigiri or sashimi. Sometimes will eat a light pastry that isn't too sweet

Hobbies:

Spending time alone; Shi deeply values his alone time, often seen meditating or watching the sky and clouds. He is often seen sitting against the dead side of the Tree of Balance, sometimes drinking a coffee.

Dislikes:

Murderers; He absolutely hates murderers. He has seen many victims fall because of them and has made him sick of them.

Invasion of personal space; Usually doesn't like being touched or be too close to someone. Makes him uncomfortable, unless asked first.

Interrupting his peace; When Shi is taking time to himself, he doesn't like that peace being interrupted, will annoy him.

Personality:

Stoic/Serious; Shi is the type to remain stoic and unbothered in most situations.

Easily Annoyed; It's pretty easy to annoy him sometimes, especially when he wants to be alone.

Rarely Soft: Despite his stoic and seemingly cold nature, he can be friendly and softer in some occasions, but is not shown very often.

Extras/Random:

Shi doesn't admit it often, but appreciates his brother's company when needed most.

Is probably at least allies with Reaper!Sans, finding him tolerable.

Meditates a lot to find peace within himself.

Sei - The God of Life (Character Info)

Likes:

Pastries; especially cakes, pies and soft cookies. (Preferably vanilla flavoured pastries)

Tea; Floral and herbal teas. Favorite is Japanese matcha green tea.

Hobbies:

Gardening (main hobby); Sei likes to take care of the flowers in the Kinkou Meadow

Baking; He likes pastries and desserts, so he thought why not learn to bake.

Exploring the AUs; Sei has a curious nature and likes to explore AUs, and learn about it's inhabitants.

Dislikes:

Threats to the balance; Sei (and Shi) have the jobs of keeping a balance in the natural order. Threats to this balance could severely damage universes.

Spicy food; Despite not really needing to eat, the gods sometimes do anyway. Sei can NOT handle spicy food for the life of him (get it? life?)

Making others upset; He obviously cares about every individual greatly, to the point where as even one small mistake will make him feel very bad and guilty.

Personality:

Childish; Sei tends to have a sort of childlike personality, being very joyous and curious of everything.

Friendly; As mentioned, Sei cares for everyone, and treats them with kindness.

Rarely serious; It's very rare that Sei comes off as serious, but some exceptions are: when he's in battle/confrontation, or when he's trying to heal someone and give emotional support.

Extras/Random:

Sei would make a great therapist

Deeply cares for his brother, and helps him when he is feeling off.

Usually is found taking care of the flowers on his side of the meadow.

Probably gullible

Would be good friends with the Star Sans, mainly Dream

[ "均衡の物語" ー The Story of Kinkou ]

Space… An endless void with countless amounts of stars and galaxies. It was a pretty sight… the stars glistening and shining within the dark and cold atmosphere. Though, of course, no one was there to witness it. This story takes place before life even began to form, after all. The stars were glistening like normal, even some shooting stars here and there and… wait a minute.. those shooting stars aren't about to- BOOM

…The shooting stars seemed to have collided and have exploded widely upon impact. The effects of the explosion had left star dust floating about. Though, something even more odd happened.. The star dust started to gather around, every single spec joining together, forming into one. And now, once nothing but star dust, floats a glowing orb. But wait… It was no ordinary orb. It was… a soul…? The soul continued to collect star dust and matter that surrounded it, and slowly.. it began to form into something different..

And there it was. It became a vessel. A live vessel with a soul. This vessel, upon observing it's surroundings, seemed lost.. maybe even lonely. It wandered around space for what seemed like ages. To no avail, no one else was there, as the vessel was the only live being in existence. The vessel floated motionlessly in thought, looking at it's hand. For a moment, they started to glow a soft white. This intrigued the vessel. It tried to focus on the glow emitting from it's hands. Until.. a new soul had formed. This is when the vessel realized.. It could create souls. It can bring life. And with that newfound knowledge, the vessel set up a goal. It wanted to make a civilization. It would no longer be lonely anymore. And it found just the perfect place to start it. Earth. Perfect climates, perfect environments.

The vessel sets off to Earth with anticipation and determination. It wanted to make sure it's creation of civilization goes perfectly and smoothly. And so, the vessel knew it needed to get creative. It is a big world after all, and there was much work to be done. Then an idea formed in the vessel's mind. It decided to create two races. Those races it named being Humans and Monsters. And from there, and so forth, it slowly but surely made civilization come to life, working endlessly to make sure things go as planned, and as smoothly as possible.

The vessel would occasionally interact with his creations, both human and monster alike. They sought up to the vessel as a god, and would praise it for it's work. The vessel was pleased and happy that it's creations appreciated what it had done for them. During it's interactions with the mortals, it realized something. That these creations are not long living, and that they could die. It was saddened at the thought. The deceased souls had nowhere to go, and were trapped in an endless void. Upon seeing this, the vessel wanted to make them their own little world to roam free, without any worries or fears. That's when.. the afterlife world was created. When these souls were released upon death, the vessel would guide them on to the afterlife. Both Life and Death was on it's hands, and it knew that well. The vessel knew it's purpose. It's purpose was that it was the God of Balance. Kinkou.

Kinkou worked for many, many centuries keeping civilization stable and well. Though as time progressed, and as civilization grew larger, the harder it had became to keep up his work. This brought worry and fear for Kinkou. He needed to think quickly before things got out of hand. He sets off beyond the skies and created a new realm, a meadow that he named after himself. This meadow had a singular tree that divided the realm into two seperate sections, with one side representing life, and the other.. death.

Kinkou then makes a difficult decision. He knew that this was for the best and hoped all would work out. He brought out his soul in his hands and took a deep breath of hope. He then.. splits his soul in two. As his soul split, so did his vessel. He was no longer one being.. but two. These new beings were now known as Sei and Shi, the God of Life and the God of Death. The two new gods, who carried Kinkou's sentience, knew instinctively what their purpose was.. to ensure that thing live and die as they should.. to make sure balance stays in it's natural order.

And thus, began the legend that is DeityTale.

[-Welcome to DeityTale-]

(Intro) There was a legend that tells of the God of Balance, named Kinkou. The deity had resembled and maintained the balance of both life and death, dating way back to the creation of existence itself. Though one day, as the mortal society grew, the balance became harder to maintain on his own, which he found a huge problem. As solution, he would split his soul in two, thus splitting his very being into two counterparts. The two new deities were now known as Sei, the god of life, and Shi, the god of death. They have taken the form of Sans, but with a more godly appearance. Now the two siblings act as a natural order, making sure things live and die as should.

(The Cast) "均衡 - Kinkou, the God of Balance." The original God and creator. As mentioned, he was the original being and the keeper of the balance between life and death, making sure existence stays stable. He's also the creator of DeityTale's realm and the Tree of Balance.

"生 - Sei, the God of Life." Kinkou's first half. He is the being of creation and evolution, nurturing life and guiding it to flourish. Some societies and other mortals often seek out his aid to overcome the many challenges life may bring and become prosperous in each endeavor. (Needs to be redrawn)

"死 - Shi, the God of Death." Kinkou's other half. The being of death and decease. He reaps the souls of the deceased, leading them down the path to the afterlife. Some may fear him or believe he is evil god, though he is only a benevolent being thats bound to enforce the balance between the forces of nature. (Needs to be redrawn)

(Where They Live) DeityTale takes place in a realm within the skies that was created by Kinkou. It was a large and vast meadow that's split into two parts. The meadow was divided by the Tree of Balance, a tree that was half spirited and well, and half deceased and decayed. Sei's side of the meadow was full of life. The flowers are blooming and the skies were blue and clear. Whereas Shi's side of the meadow was dull and decayed. The sky was a dull orange, and the grass and flowers had been decayed. (Image below is a placeholder, I'll draw the actual meadow soon)

(Extra) The two siblings often struggle to maintain order between life and death between universes. They strive to prevent one from overcoming the other. Although they are opposites, they are the key to the balance of existence within the multiverse.

(Side Note) This AU was heavily inspired by both the DreamTale and ReaperTale AUs. I basically combined the two ideas together and that's how DeityTale was born pretty much. (Feel free to ask questions, would be appreciated. :D)
