whenever i feel unnatached to a doll for any reason i try to fix it before getting rid of the doll... for this i didnt like Haileys faceup or hair, and i didnt like Skylars runway dress... this restyle is exactly what i wanted from a blue beach doll! 💙🩵🤍

Exactlyyy why i am repurposing old doll clothes for a full outfit

Venus

I don't know man. That bodysuit doesn't feel very punk to me. Having a teenage character dress like a Victoria's Secret model doesn't feel very punk to me. Catering to the patriarchy and the male gaze doesn't feel very punk to me. Isnt punk meant to be counter-culture? Like not to be old woman yells at cloud, but come on. For Venus especially, it just feels out of character for her.

I think there is a happy medium between having the dolls be fashionable while also being age appropriate. One reason I like g3 so much is because I think they do hit that medium more often than not and the character do look their relative age, you don't have that blur between woman and girl where if you didn't know the characters, you would think they were adults.

I DO like the cheek piercings tho, that feels very in character

My quick edit if how easy it would've been to give her a complete outfit... the second pic would just be a painted leather skirt, the third I added the same trim as her sleeves to tie it in.

Otherwise she looks like she's still getting dressed. I get that there are many celebrities who wear just a bodysuit and tights, but not anyone who is like Venus is supposed to be.

Venus is eco punk, so I'm definitely going to use some old scraps and make her outfit. It makes sense to me. Though I'm frustrated the MH designers left much to be desired, I can definitely get into this opportunity to let my diy punk skills shine 🩷💚

She was my first one too! Still my favorite due to the punk vibes. I have the whole collection and they are so worth it especially if you can get them for those lower prices!

They had a lot of public complaints when they came out, but this is one of my favorite lines and the best mermaid dolls imo

found this “mermaze mermaidz” at my local ross for $9! i was literally stunned by her beauty (drove away with regret, did a u turn, went back to the store, grabbed her, then left) and had to take her home with me! her name is riviera and she’s my first of this brand of doll! does anyone else collect these? ☺️

p.s. - she also comes with a silver jacket with shoulder spikes and a purple guitar! i’ve also heard through the grapevine that her tail changes color, which is so cool! should i try it????? 🤭
