I like to see dramatic change the one painting can bring in the entire space. I thought about the poverty, homelessness and wild fire in Los Angeles while working on this piece. I like to explores the relationship between art history, referentiality and the literary. This landscape series can be thought of as linguistic expressions, singular words or ideas that, when placed next to each other, form a constellation of narratives. One on the left painted on Belgium linen with oil paint, embroidery and crystal beading technique referencing digitized pixelation, serene of natural light and high end fashion house's couture fabric. I always like to expand a concept of traditional painting in terms of texture and dimensionality.
